  1. I'll take my chances that a 6'3, 240 RB can block for Willy. And if you think Volny and Messam are comparable, well, then um... uh... Messam would have been our fifth leading receiver last year, ha - I don't think we're in any position to ignore an NI right now because we're going 'international'
  2. YES PLEASE!
  3. Ed Tait ✔ @WFPEdTait Sources say the #Bombers are not interested in RB Jerome Messam, the CFL's top Canadian in 2011. Going import at the position. #bn Not impressed... Bombers are not in any position to decide import or non-import at a position, especially if Cotton is injured now. Maybe its just talk...
  4. With Buck retired and Mack gone, looks like Harjallahu's name is the new polarizing topic.
  5. We are not in any position to cut any QB... right now, i would like to see a fifth QB added in the hopes of replacing Hall. Hall is a 'serviceable' backup in the same way Jyles or McPherson were... they are bodies that will complete just enough passes not to get cut, but not enough to win.
  6. CK was a DelMonaco project... 'nuff said. Still, a bit surprised that Howard, Dumas and Blake survived.
  7. Sounds like his agent is a real winner.
  8. Renaud did punt very well last game. Now, I would really sign Cameron though. My wish list in order of 'need' is Messam, Burke, Cameron, Mackey, Wilson, Mutobola.
  9. Brett Cameron - 5 punts for 40.5 avg, longest 50 yards LH - 3 punts for 40.6 avg, longest 45 Yeah, way better..
  10. The Saskatchewan Roughriders today announced the release of the following players: National fullback Matthew Burke National kicker Brett Cameron International defensive back Antonio Fenelus International defensive back Donnie Fletcher National linebacker Tyler Greenslade International running back Curtis McNeal International linebacker Adrian Moten International running back Clifton Smith International offensive lineman Ryan Tillman The team also announced international defensive back Carlos Thomas has been moved to the injured list and national quarterback Brandon Leyh has returned to school. I'd take a look at Cameron again... PR him - he was decent just not as good as Bartel or Milo... Mark will be PRd Matt Burke might be an upgrade over Fitzgerald.
  11. Messam's salary likely was too high for a backup fullback/second RB... sounds like Montreal tried to look for a trade Sure, hope Walters is on this one... Messam would be a huge upgrade here, whether its Volny or Pontbriand...
  12. No one is making a trade today.
  13. Exactly. We all thought Stubler was coming here & everyone was excited. Then when that didn't happen, we get Etcheverry. And everything that comes with the guy. Thud!! it's not even that Stubler didn't come here. It's just that Etch is a known commodity and I didn't like his defenses in previous stops so I didn't want him here. I'd have rather given an unknown a shot than go with a guy who I know I don't like. I was hoping we would bring in experience... as long as it wasn't Marshall, Daley or Etch, ha... oh well.
  14. double post
  15. I would take a look at Trent Mackey No thanks to Dee Webb, we already have enough average vets on our roster I thought McDaniel performed well against us...
  16. Kane is worth a top prospect and a pick at least.
  17. Jaymar Johnson reminds me of Adarius Bowman.
  18. Alouettes just hid Baillargeon. Boo.
  19. Chris Wilson would fit with an Etch defence. Not sure if injuries are an issue...
  20. It's not that hard. Basically he'd get a DI spot that would otherwise go to an extra IMP DB/LB. Just a matter of whether there are enough healthy Canadians to backup on D, if Briggs, Sherman, Alexander, Bucknor and Jones are good to go it shouldn't be an issue. I'm assuming we'll use 1 DI on offense/returner, 2 on D, 1 on Maher, or 1 on offense/returner and 3 on D. If Briggs is healthy, yeah I would replace Renaud with Maher. Otherwise, all those guys are already on my roster... If you play Maher, you have to pencil in Dan West or Rene Stephan somewhere...
  21. What about last year? Unless you really like Isaac Anderson. Well, I did like Anderson and Miles... althought I'm not sure if Miles was around that much at TC?
  22. Hall is playing not to get hit - he was slightly better before he was continually crushed last year. His release is almost too fast, one more second would give his receivers a bit better chance for YAC and time for him to get set. He picks his receiver and makes that throw even into double coverage. He gets sacked when his first receiver is so covered he can't force the ball in there. Brohm looked more poised this week - I think we have a better chance of Brohm settling down than Hall picking up his game. Honestly, do not see any reason other than a pulse for keeping Hall around. This myth that he has 'CFL experience' is a bit much... he was retired when we found him and has a year of two different OCs.
  23. Oh come on... Sacks are a more useless stat than tackles...
  24. Etch's D (like almost all Ds...) succeed when their DL gets pressure, not necessarily sacks. In Sask, he had Chick, Baggs, Chunky Adams, Shologan, Jones... Etch may not focus on the DL but he sure benefitted from some major talent. Not to mention he walked into one of the best LB cores in the league.
  25. I wish, you'll have your usual bomber supporters who will blindly give excuses and support whoever is on staff bash you and say its way to early, but reality is Etchevary's not a good DC. It was simply a bad hire. With who we have where, I don't see our run game getting any better. I used to think our pass defence would be good, but I'm starting to doubt that to. With Anderson sitting, we only have one, maybe two effective pass rushers on the DLine. It's not blind support. And if it is, then your discontent is blind as well. Maybe he's not a good DC, it's not unlikely by any stretch. But when you're unconventional, preseason isn't going to be where the determination is made His body of work in this league is more than large enough for us to form an opinion on his work. Just because it's only pre season doesn't mean we can't know what we're in for this year. Doesn't mean he's not able to change and adapt He's been in football for 35 years or something... I don't think he's changing.
