Steve Mason is back...

Again, I think everyone is over-estimating OL in this draft - Lavertu goes top two but everyone else could even drop to second round - look at the depth in other positions - if you want a receiver, you need Bailey, an RB has to be Coombs, DB - maybe two guys, LB - maybe two... things are changing K-Groh and Albright kind of have got me thinking Ottawa will go for Smith... could be starting DT beside Shologan or a backup Guard if Deane gets injured...
-
This all depends on what the word on Quinn Smith is... if he is rated better than Westerman, I think there's a lot of interest to trade up for #2 pick (then again, I would be wondering we we aren't picking him...) Only reason to trade down is to still pick Goossen and another starting player - our NI depth is what will kill us this year.

Emry to Toronto... re-united with Burke (edit: oh wait, that was forever ago... ha...)
-
Let's start a Joe Mack thread now and see if 17to85's head explodes.
-
Yeah, I don't see the sense in releasing Glenn... suspend him if you have to but maybe Burris gets hurt in TC or Game Two... ridiculous to dump him for nothing. I actually think if we still had our 2nd round pick, we would have offered it for Glenn straight up
-
Kuale definitely fits with an Etcheverry non-playbook...
-
More likely, that we DO trade down if Lavertu is taken first.... I'm sure he's dangling 2nd and 20th for 5th and 12th (BC) or 4th and 13th (Mtl) - any of Goossen, Gill and Coombs will be around I still think if Tchissakid Player slips to 20th, that would be the steal of the draft
-
I liked this one... I wouldn't say he's tipping his hat at all - I mean we don't have a Centre on the roster and the whole league would have known we were working out Goossen and Lavertu anyway... I kind of feel like he's announcing his trade intentions a bit more publicly - as in, if Lavertu is gone, Bombers are probably open to trade down in the first round if someone really wants Quinn Smith such as BC or even Montreal...

Kyle Walters Presser at 1pm today... discussing offseason and draft And... his decision to trade our second overall for Kevin Glenn...

im not talking about atlanta, im talking about the JETS and i honestly doubt the jets would have taken him. The jets take high character guys.. Kane isnt a high character guy. They probably would have taken schenn cuz he does indeed fit the mold of the player the jets seem to like. I am not a Kane fan but in terms of talent and potential, it was pretty much impossible not to pick Kane fourth... basically, your top 4 are the elite picks that year If anything failed Kane, it was Atlanta's development system... same goes for Bogosian. Both of those players would be better if they were in our current system.
-
Atlanta did not pick Kane because 'they did not have much of a scouting staff'... Who should they have picked... Brayden Schenn? Nazem Kadri...?

There is no reason for Knapp to be on the TC roster...

Most people aren't projecting Smith as a defensive lineman. They're projecting him as a guy who is going to transition to offensive line. His footwork seems to have scouts believing he can be a legit force on the interior line. Hypothetically, you COULD go with two non-imports at DT and rotate Smith, Shologan and Evans while you slowly transition Smith to the OL. Tricky... I can't see relying on a guy who has played a handful of games (only in relief) as an OL pick. If that's the case, Ottawa has to pick Lavertu. Then bombers pick Smith as a DT with possible OC option... But I still like the Coombs pick. I think he goes top five if not top three.
-
Don't see the advantage of Ottawa picking Smith... they have Shologan and Evans - DT is already a secure NI spot for them - and Connor Williams in the system... Then again, its is Desjardins... he could go with Bailey first overall...
-
I'm hoping for the best... but, yeah, all I wanted was a coaching staff without a 'guru' or a 'mad genius'... maybe next year...

RT .@DrJaffery13: #Alouettes and now #Bombers of #CFL showing strong interest and in discussions with my agent! Let's get something done! Who is this guy.

its $17k... no big deal... as if you're going to take away a draft pick for $17k.... basically, they are over the cap because they had to payout grey cup bonuses - all teams should operate like this
-
I actually don't understand why morley was never tried at tackle again... You would think we could perform there more than any other position...
-
Chad Simpson 1.0
-
OShea pumping Quinn Smith's tires... kind of looking like its coming down to Lavertu/Smith as the first two picks...
-
What's with the focus on Right Tackle? We already have two prospects pegged for that spot - Neufeld has already played and was actually better at tackle than guard. Unless his leg is screwed (in which case the trade was a huge mistake), he is the closest to being game ready. After him, Pencer is also more of a natural tackle. Same with Swiston. The one thing I wouldn't draft this year is a tackle prospect. We need someone who may start but can at least contribute on ST and start next year or end of season...

Foucault is getting NFL interest, I don't think we take him at #2... My top three are still Lavertu, Coombs and Smith - in any order...

I thought it was a nice article until he said "Everything would have been fine if Evander Kane was white. Or even Japanese."
