Well, I guess they weren't even TCF...

I guess that's kind of my point... yes, he was raw last year but why not keep him under contract - league minimum - and check him out this off-season... we have don't have much for competition right now... Same goes for Brent Carter - surprised we just let him drift back into the draft... I'm assuming the coaches see something I don't but, man, both those guys would have been good competition in camp for a team that isn't exactly deep at kicker or receiver

Not really a head scratcher at all...he didn't perform well enough! Forgive me if I don't quite agree with Mack and Burke's assessment of talent last year...

Still a bit baffled by the lack of NI kickers - assuming this will changed, of course - but why we let Brett Cameron walk away is a headscratcher... Just don't see how we can even be considering an import kicker with our limited NI depth and flexibility

Creehan is one of the worst DCs in CFL history... Burke is actually a pretty decent DC - he'll probably do well in Toronto

Is that the new method for evaluating talent? Well, when you're a DB it is... no? Cuz one DB is the reason why a team gets blown out. And if he is stuck with a group of crappy secondary players then obviously he too must suck? By that rule of thumb, brendan labatte has to suck because he was on our horrible o-line... Wait, hes arguably one of the best guards in the league? Nooo way.. Well hopefully for Kris Robertson it doesn't mean it ALL the time... But, yeah, when you're not the best player on the D and the D sucks, its not great. It's not a glowing endorsement, but by no means does it mean he's terrible. TCF are usually not 'terrible', just not good enough.

Enstrom - 82 games - 10 G, 20A, -9 - 5.75 mill Trouba - 65 games - 10 G, 15A, +4...

Etcheverry is an all-or-nothing guy... his D's work with fast, experienced, talented players but if even one of these guys is not up to par, it can get really bad really quick. Let's hope Banks and Alexander have not lost a step. And let's hope Cauchy doesn't make it through camp.

Its just speculation... really depends on Trouba's next season - if a 21 year old defenceman, dominates - I can think of about eight teams that would give up prospects for him, starting with Edmonton All the over rating of Trouba aside (and yes he is a really good prospect, but he's not the norris winner people want to paint him as yet) The oilers are not likely to thrown an offer sheet at a guy like that, they'd be more likely to use their assets to get someone more proven.Lots of youth and potential on that team already including the defense position what they need are some veterans who can help bring the young players along. Like I said, we'll see - we have him for two more season for sure - then I think its $6 mill... for our highest minutes D-man, I don't think that's over-rating.

We'll see what happens... if someone offers $6-6.5 mill, they give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Trouba... There's some teams desperate enough or 'close enough' to go for that...

Jets will try to go with the PK Subban model of bridge contract w/ Jacob. Really depends on whether someone comes a knockin' a that someone is a Cup contender vs. a playoff pretender. Not sure that 'bridge contract' really worked out for Montreal... Subban is going to be asking fro $8-9 million, someone will put in a counter sheet for him

Flames played hard last night. They've had tremendous fan support all year with an overachieving hockey club & they really wanted to go out with a win. That game wasn't meaningless to Calgary. The last few minutes were intense. The crowd was really into it. For the Flames & Jets. Boston was playing for the Presidents Trophy, they wanted that game. Guess thats why they put Rask and Chara in the press box, huh? Don't knock Chad Johnson...

Oh I don't think they'll pay him that... but $6 million wouldn't surprise me at all (for each of Trouba and Scheifele - assuming they don't have sophomore syndrome) Our top two D at the start of the season were getting 5.7 each - Buff and Enstrom... We really have one more year of 'cheap' Trouba and then its $6 million plus...

i dont agree on this mock draft. If Briggs is there at 20, I sure hope we take him... an backup LB/ST guy and a starting OL would be like winning the lottery after our recent draft years...

Enstrom is good... but he's getting paid the same as Seabrook or Keith... its just going to be tough when Trouba's agent asks for $7 million a year
