So Ottawa is a bunch of hacks, Montreal has no depth... hate to think what you have to say about Winnipeg... I guess that leaves pretty much Sask as the only team with a good OL in the league?

I don't mind this defensive lineup at all. Some decent CFL exp in there... Really do not want to lose the Wylie sweepstakes now... that's a critical one. And, again, no talk of a dedicated QB coach... I thought OShea said that was important.

I'm assuming they'll use 3 NI spots on D with Fraser, a LB spot with Pottinger and a DL spot with Shologan, Evans and to a lesser extent Phillips and Capicciotti. If Pottinger goes down they'll have to play 2 NI DL at all times. Then 3 OL and 1 receiver/tight end/fullback. Their OL isn't terrible if the guys coming off injury are all right, but it's below average, they basically got a bunch of guys that nobody wanted/are coming off serious injury other than Shologan and Eppele (who is also coming off an injury, 2 off-season surgeries). Albright, KGroh and Barrette are pretty decent depth. Plus MacMillan and this year's first pick aren't even in the picture yet. At worst, they have eight NI starting positions... if an NI tackle works out, they have nine. If we're relying on CK and Morely, I'm definitely not going to slag a team who has Hage and KGroh.

Ottawa has god awful NI talent. Too much potential to break down. I like to look at the glass half full. Kind of like the way I'm pretending that Watson, Neufeld, Pencer, Stephan, Thomas, Swiston, Volny and Lucas will stay healthy and perform this season

Redblacks will be fine... Maybe jj makes the team but I doubt that smith and lang do... Ottawa has three ni starters on D with phillips, fraser and shologan... Lots of room for new import talent

Guard. Less to think about. Basically a barroom brawler who just has to physically beat up the guy across. C has so much more to do on the field, incl calling formation and such. That's been the problem... January has basically been calling things for the OL - we just threw Sorenson into the most important position on the line and thought it would be fine.

After the success of Jones, I think we are betting on the second pick - Lavertu? - to step in and actually play Centre. I could see our line shaping up like: January - Greaves - Lavertu - Pencer - Neufeld Jones on 46, Morely as 6th OL Pretty rookie line but I think they gamble with new blood... at least I hope that they do

There is no part of our OL that is exactly dominant... including the left side. I like moving Greaves to Centre, lots of upside to that.

Hirallaju or whatever.. that guy is really good. Palardy is still out there... not worried. We converted Sorenson to a Centre in half a season, move Morley or Greaves in there - no one will notice.

Don't see what Hamilton has over us.... really disappointed that Butler didn't end up here. Surprised that Myddleton didn't... or anyone. Still keeping faith in Walters... for now.

Correction: Highlighting a portion of someone's post and then replying with an unfounded juvenile remark is actually the most over-used thing on this forum. That and Drew Willy penis jokes. But you're right, let's just cut Edwards after seven years of busting his ass and getting 1000 yard seasons out of crap QBs and OCs. Good plan, buddy... we all know that good players can't transition into good coaches. That's not what I said. But it seems like once a dude hits 5+ years tenure with a club, there are certain posters who just assume that player should transition to coaching. 'Certain posters' is actually the most overused term on this forum... JoLo and Edwards seem like they would be good coaches... don't remember suggesting anyone else. So, you don't think Edwards should be transitioned to a coach/mentor type of position...?

Let Edwards play part-time... he's had the **** kicked out of him because he's been our only real go-to guy for the last four or five years... transition him to coach in a year or so...

Not thrilled that we are spending time on Nick Moore... Wasn't big on Mitchell or Jones but they would have likely been upgrades - Myddleton is really our only option now, which is fine for the very short term. Can't believe no one has made an offer to Sorenson - that guy is a stud.
