  1. I still would love to see Higgins on this staff... in any capacity. Higgins worst season was more a matter of Hank/Frank than anything else.
  2. Have a feeling thar MB ends up as our OC... Don't see sask letting cortez go and we need some exp Glad oshea is here and the decision is made-announed... Really liking these moves
  3. But wasn't McManus a scout for two or three years before Tillman got there? If he did find Gable and Ellingson, I can't really think of who else really emerged as a 'find' this year...
  4. Actually, you want to know how to be best friends with him...
  5. LOL - just add "assistant GM" to everyone's name. "Assistant GM of cash register operation" for the girl at the Bomber store. "Assistant GM of toilet scrubbing" for the janitor... Or just Asst GM/Director of Football Ops like I stated in the post... just call it Director of Football Ops. Whatever. But, yes, that's a cute joke... very witty!
  6. I like these moves - including Morris... I would like to see one more Asst GM of Football Ops
  7. Really like this move
  8. Both all-stars. Henoc is flashier and has a zillion tackles but I would take a 6'2 S/LB ball hawk as well. I'd take them both to, but Henoc is better. FYI Butler has never been an all-star. 2011 west division - close enough.
  9. If Taman's not over the cap, that's probably the final nail in Mack's coffin. Taman 'overpaid' for everybody... That being said, I'm sure Simon, Foley, McElveen, Williams, Ferri are pretty much cut or retired before FA season/bonuses...
  10. Both all-stars. Henoc is flashier and has a zillion tackles but I would take a 6'2 S/LB ball hawk as well.
  11. For us, Burke is a 'has-been'... he's not going from HC to DC. Still waiting for some suggestions for up-and-coming experienced coaches who are available... I actually doubt Cortez is available as OC. But, really, those posts were all cute and funny... Right now, the only guy with some degree of experience available (IF we hire O'Shea) is Mark Nelson. Otherwise, our entire coaching staff will be guys who have been freshly 'promoted' - just like it was when we hired Lapo.
  12. Except that the "Mack sucks at drafting" is only true if you ignore the fact he nailed a grand slam home run with Henoc, who was, contrary to popular belief, NOT the consensus #1 pick. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Taman drafted only one franchise-altering player in his tenure as well. The difference is that the talent level in CFL draft is so much better now than it was in the mid-1990s. That being said, pretty sure Taman drafted Picard and Labatte. Arjei Franklin was pretty good... Henoc was a homerun for sure... but Taman and Dyce found Butler who is as good or better than Henoc 11picks later. Then grabbed Heenan the next year... The sad thing is that Taman drafted Labbe in the six round and five years later Mack still couldn't find any better talent to backup Henoc. All I can say is that I am relieved Walters is in fully charge of the draft now. Edem would have been a big step to help rebuild this team.
  13. Funny If you guys want to place Berry, Reed, Marshall, Stubler, Burke as 'non has-beens' that's cool... but yeah, when we stop making ha ha's, please suggest an available assistant coach with experience that is appealing. If Cortez is available as OC, that would be excellent... after that, maybe Mark Nelson as DC... after that - who is available who is not a hack?
  14. LeFevour is just another version of Justin Goltz... Well….a better version of JG, he will be their protected QB, according to Drew Edwards's mock protected list: •QB (1) •Dan LeFevour: With Henry Burris set to become a free agent, there's no reason to protect him in the draft. LeFevour now has two years of backup experience and played a bigger role this season. - Marcellus Bowman should be protected and may end up playing MLB - the CFL has decided not to make the protected lists public. http://scratchingpost.thespec.com/ This, to me, is where the CFL always fails... why not make the lists public? CFL needs fans, stats/info/anything helps fans get hooked. If it was me, I'd have neg lists, contracts, etc all accessible to fans - that and I'd pay more stats guys even before we pay the refs, ha. I also think that a few teams are going to get 'busted' by leaving FAs unprotected... if Burris was left open, why not sign him and use the next two months to sign him.
  15. I just wonder who is actually available as asst coaches... Seems like rookies or has-beens on the market right now
  16. Except ISO only said that Mack sucked at CIS drafting... Which is true. Then everyone else morphed the debate into 'poor mack' zone
  17. Seems like Burke threw too many guys under the bus this season to stick around... fresh start please.
  18. I like the names being mentioned but the prospect of another few years of rookie GM, rookie HC and rookie OC is a little concerning.
  19. Tricky poll... I voted 'no' but only because I think we jumped the gun with Walters - think he needed a couple more years as asst GM but, that being said, I am not 'unhappy' with this move.
  20. Whats the deal with no giving the ball to Sheets for three more yards... weird.
  21. SO no confirmation on this yet, right?
  22. How can you not be pumped for the grey cup? Super lame. Should be a kick-ass game today And, yeah, I'm cheering for Taman to get a cup and finally some respect. Plus, Sask pretty much has the coaching staff that I was hoping Mack would assemble three years ago...
  23. OShea. I really like the energy he brings, his active involvement in the game as a coach and his creativity. Surround him with experienced assistants.
  24. Whatever!!! Winnipeg has way more desolate drives than Regina..! The arrogance of Simmons is infuriating.
  25. Its seems like just yesterday Kent Austin was our QB and bomber fans cheered when he got injured and knocked out of the game.... now he's coaching in the GC... sniff.
