  1. The difference between Wpg and other teams is that Marsh, Collaros and Mitchell will likely be given a chance to develop even with average numbers and interceptions... Both of these guys played today's game much like Elliott played last year. I wonder if Popp will talk to the media about how he can't wait for Calvillo to get healthy because he gives them the best chance to win...
  2. Well, we are currently pissing away this season - like we pissed away the last one... so suggestions?
  3. Was he? I don't recall him doing any scouting. I thought one of the reasons they didn't renew his contract was because he didn't do any scouting. And Walters was our Special Teams Coach.... I thought we had a management 'team' back in 2010 when Mack was building for the future... I guess not.
  4. What a joke that Hodkinson took the fall for Mack... he is as much responsible for our finds as Walters
  5. Oh man... back in this ridiculous - he wasn't good enough for another team debate... Bring him back, what is the harm? Maybe he will succeed under MB... All I know is that Elliott could sell the playaction and that made our OL look better - I mean look at us with QBs who can't... But I guess Levi Brown is the answer now... cough cough.
  6. Sign him!
  7. MSW will probably have some early success like Carr and Matthews...
  8. Upgrade over Freddie Harris. I think our schemes are still the problem though... not sure how much personnel changes are going to impact things.
  9. Agreed injuries happen... Its the number of hammies and re-injuries that is concerning.
  10. Wow, another hammie for Washington... good thing Hef's gone right? (sorry, had to do it.) Is Sears ever coming back? How we didn't hire a Strength and Conditioning coach in the off-seson is beyond me... What are you talking about? Alain Couture serves that role with the Bombers. "Couture is also a Registered Massage Therapist through the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association" I know. We have a staff of two athletic therapists I still want a 'Strength and Conditioning' coach... how is one more body going to hurt? Whatever we are doing now is just not working.
  11. Yeah, he got torched a couple times... but again, its just bizarre how Swiston gets a look at RT - and is not great but not terrible - and then Taormina gets half a season of bitchslapping... and now Swiston is moved to Guard and gets pulled without even two full games Greaves was not that good when he was inserted last year... he's gone on to be at least decent. Yeah, I am cheering for Swiston but I am having a hard time seeing our development strategy OL prospects... If Swiston fails, we have Pencer in the pipe and no one else. I mean Chris Kowalczuk is literally the next guy up... not good.

  13. Morley and Pierce get their full salary for the year... Really sucks about Kohlert... and Wild... like both of them. Would have liked to see Peach a couple years ago... but not totally sure about now LB depth McGee, Stephan and Sheffield... yikes... Honestly would look at Stephan at Safety - he is pretty fast... but still really wondering about his durability
  14. Well, I guess I just stopped caring in mid-conversation... You win Hef sucks, better off without him, lots of faster younger DBs out there
  15. 'if he is sooooo great, why aint he in their secondary and why has he been a healthy scratch on more then one occasion?' Aaaand... the circle is complete. Ha! You're right, Hef has no talent... it can't possibly be that CFL teams sign vets to replace guys when they get injured... who needs depth? Not the bombers. Or that these same vets actually get their jobs back when they're healthy... that's ridiculous. I pity the stamps with a bunch of has-beens like Keon Raymond, Brandon Smith and Hefney in their lineup... Those guys have all lost a step.
  16. I think you are guilty of remember Hefney from 2 or 3 or 4 years ago moreso than last year. Hefney used to be real damned good but last year cracks appeared in his game. I have no problems saying Washington has been as good this year as Hefney was last year. You are of course correct that Hall is getting off easy and should have had his ass stapled to the bench for at least part of the game but that's neither here nor there when talking about Hefney. Bottom line Washington was taking his spot at halfback, Hefney could have stayed here by switching to SAM but he didn't want to and as a result he was cut. Anyway, I don't even mean to argue about Logan... I would have liked to see him replaced... but the reason we are where we are is because we cut guys without them actually 'losing' their jobs... I mean we released Hefney halfway thru camp after one pre-season game and then Burke turns around and says pre-season games don't matter the next week after we get torched 55-0. Maybe Hef did lose a step but at least he could read a defence... I mean Byron Parker and Dwight Anderson have both lost a step over the years... Anyway, the whole point is that Hef was cut for not being a 'team' guy and Hall is getting away with it. Dunn has a crap pre-season and makes the team, Cauchy remains a starter because West and Sherman are 'not ready'... etc etc Mixed messages are what killed this team. A mixed message would be "We're trying to win" and then benching your best defensive player I guess its a matter of perspective... I feel like we cut our best defensive player in Hef to say 'We're team first'... now we seem to have changed to 'Do whatever you want, I'm just waiting to get fired'...

  18. at least Logan didn't line up 25 yards from the LOS...
  19. Replaced by our super awesome secondary... kind of like Logan was adequately replaced I guess... good point.
  20. I don't understand... what part of the CBA would this fall under? Why can a team not fine a player for ignoring the coach...? Isn't it like a code of conduct thing?
  21. A. The old 'he's not starting on another team' argument is just so tired... guys cut in TC have a hard time fitting into other systems - I'd take Hef back in a second. B. Hef wouldn't be a 'team' player so we cut him because he wants to play where he feels strongest... yet Hall gets a slap on the wrist for over-ruling the coaches in the middle of a game... Blah blah all you want... Hef bailed out our asses constantly last season and got repaid by a mid-camp cut... Washington has been good but not Hefney good... Dunn - I just honestly don't see it... Dan Hawkins made him look good for a couple games I guess, just my opinion. Then again, no one can actually look good in a Creehan defence.
  22. haHA... Buck going to see a doctor tomorrow - I guess his injury wasn't really 'urgent' - and Hall missing practice too... Yawn, its just practice anyway. I really hope Buck gets cleared so we can cut him. Just put Boltus in, by Sunday, he will have as much or more experience with our new offence than any of our current guys.
  23. Joe Mack's legacy... from the freep: 'All this means the vets possibly most affected this week are those who have been around the longest: QB Buck Pierce, SB Terrence Edwards, PK Sando DeAngelis (9th year); OL Steve Morley (8th); CB Jovon Johnson, CB Brandon Stewart, OL Glenn January (7th) and LB Pierre Luc-Labbe (6th).' There is our core of veteran leaders... which basically means Edwards and January - both of which should not be the 'best' players on your roster at this point in their careers... Cut Morley and Labbe please... maybe BStew and JJ too - might as well save some cash since there are no ticket sales
  24. After waving off the coaches last game, Burke says Hall will get 'heavily fined'... I guess I am just piling on here... but what a bad decision... Hall doesn't give a crap about $$, he is playing to get back into the NFL and to get the sack record... I can't believe Burke didn't bench him for a game - what a different coach than I had envisioned in the off-season... The only 'tough' move he made was cutting Hefney... which was actually more stupid than tough. Frustrating.
  25. Really confused about cutting Palardy so soon... D'Angelis wasn't exactly stunning in his debut and McKnight is totally unproven.
