  1. You should have tried to find the study, I couldn't but did find more insight into it, https://nypost.com/2019/10/22/climate-change-is-making-el-ninos-stronger/ The author of the report didn't even make the claim, that came from a climate scientist not even associated with the study. Fake News is alive and well.
  2. Well you were wrong about the carbon sinks so at least you learned something even if you don't realize it, you're welcome.
  3. I don't think you are going to see any private citizens running to be president for a long time once this fiasco is mercifully put down.
  4. Transmountain, like all the rest, is tied up in court because of the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which is just an extension of the IPCC.
  5. From the climate change movement they certainly are.
  6. Why is Canadian oil priced $10/barrel below the world price?
  7. Here's the thing though, we 'Canadians' are too rich and consume too much of everything compared to the rest of the world. That is just too morally upsetting for too many people. We Canadians have to lower our standard of living and consume way less. Unfortunately you are the first to feel the pain of this reality.
  8. So JT was willing to 'break the law' to save 10,000 jobs in Quebec (SNC Lavalin) but is stuck to do anything about the 200,000 lost energy jobs and counting in the rest of Canada, presumably because of Climate Change, which Canada can't really do anything about, except be a moral leader for the rest of the world. Makes perfect sense.
  9. For someone who claims to be on the side of science, you are pretty slow sometimes, https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms13428 We attribute the observed decline to increases in the terrestrial sink during the past decade, associated with the effects of rising atmospheric CO2 on vegetation and the slowdown in the rate of warming on global respiration. The pause in the atmospheric CO2 growth rate provides further evidence of the roles of CO2 fertilization and warming-induced respiration, and highlights the need to protect both existing carbon stocks and regions, where the sink is growing rapidly. 10. I wasn't whining, Ontario stayed status quo, after that there was no point in watching the rest of the coverage as the outcome had already been determined, pretty anticlimactic considering all the build up to the election. I voted Liberal (Dr Doug) he lost but at least Marantz is a decent replacement. Unlike Alberta & Sask, I see the benefit of at least having an MP on the winning team in Ottawa. You need to stop making assumptions over the internet, it just makes you look petty.
  11. Libs won 80 seats in Ontario (81 last election), the rest of the country didn't even matter at that point. That's how it goes.
  12. No wonder I missed it, it's 3 words. But yes the transfer payments definitely helped get them back to balance now we'll see if they can balance the budget with the needs of Manitobans, the next 4 years will be the legacy of this government.
  13. Spin spin spin how can you even stand up? Link please or we'll just consider this your opinion.
  14. I'm not going to argue the accounting of it, or their motives. Pallister promised health care spending and new schools, now he has to deliver.
  15. You are claiming that lowering the GST is somehow to blame for raising the retirement age...…….that couldn't be farther from the truth!
  16. It's based on the accounting practices used and I'm not an accountant but if you read it you can see where the difference's are, trust funds etc. I don't think I would want the rainy day fund put into general revenues either, that's supposed to be untouchable for emergencies only.
  17. I did read the link, it talks about the accounting practices of the province versus the AG.
  18. Don't believe me, here's NASA saying the same thing, Every year, about half of the 10 billion tons of carbon emitted into the atmosphere from human activities remains temporarily stored, in about equal parts, in the oceans and plants. “While our study did not address the connection between greening and carbon storage in plants, other studies have reported an increasing carbon sink on land since the 1980s, which is entirely consistent with the idea of a greening Earth,” said co-author Shilong Piao of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2016/carbon-dioxide-fertilization-greening-earth When the LAI goes up so does the sink, it's that simple. But that wasn't really the point, the point was the models don't know how to handle it, just like clouds and the many other factors involved, it's far from a settled science or at least it should be to most rationale people.
  19. Maybe because the article he posted doesn't mention the federal transfer payments at all.
  20. Wrong again, the advisory council makes those recommendations, just like they are doing again, but keep spinning. The only difference is that Harper listened to his while Trudeau is too stupid to even understand why it would be done. https://www.thestar.com/business/2017/02/06/growth-council-suggest-spending-to-upgrade-skills-for-job-market.html
  21. lol, insults as usual, can't attack the post so you attack the poster, keep it up though you entertain me.
  22. Yes, there is now a surplus and they have said they will spend it on education and health care amongst other things, I assume you don't have a problem with that?
  23. Who lowered the GST 2% for you? Who gave you income tax credits? You want lower taxes, you vote Conservative. The only ones who complain about them are the ones who want everything for free.
  24. You still want to debate the Stimulus Package?
  25. Agree, time to give the other qb's some reps and see what they can do. Odds of Streveller surviving to the grey cup (if they make it) aren't very high.
