  1. If your safety is in man coverage then your DC is likely the village idiot. We played way too much cover zero (a Ritchie Hall trademark btw) where the DB's were left with no safety help because Loeffler was either blitzing or coming up to stop the run. Now if the DB's could play man, which they can't, it wouldn't be a problem, but ours were too busy trying for the pick or tunrover, as they were instructed to do. Just a perfect storm of shitty coaching and players being asked to do what they aren't capable of doing.
  2. I was shitin you B, I think it's great for the league and die-hard Argo fans like yourself, congrats.
  3. Look at the Argos National starters to win the GC this year and ask yourself if it really matters. 5 on the lines, a safety and a hybrid back/receiver. Nothing special about any of them. Walters needs to focus on the international talent because that is where this team is behind in.
  4. Well, they can continue to get 6,000 fans a game and not have to worry
  5. Is it, most turnovers in the league by far and worst against the pass, you refuse to see what is staring you straight in the face.
  6. Some of you are just deniers (my contribution to the Trump bashing). These players weren't selected for the ability to cover, they are here because they turn the ball over, better than anyone else in the league. Are we compensating for deficiencies elsewhere in the lineup, absolutely, but that doesn't mean that they are the right players for the type of defence you think they could be under a new coordinator with different looks. TJ Heath is horrible in coverage, he is a gambler always trying for the interception and that is why he is here.
  7. As a HC I think Crowton would do fine, he's a likable enough guy, like Grandpa was for the Riders.
  8. Quite true, Nelson had zero experience as a professional DC before the Bombers in 2009.
  9. I don't think Bond will be back. Bombers need to play 3 Nats on the interior of the line if they hope to improve the team at other positions.
  10. It's pretty obvious isn't it? They effed up all season long and in the playoffs too. How much more proof do you need that they just aren't good enough?
  11. How can you possibly include anyone from a secondary, including the SAM, that gave up the: most passing yards most passing TD's second most average per pass What metrics are you using to rate the calibre of the players? I'd seriously like to know.....
  12. Not being part of one of the worst defenses in the league.
  13. 12 starters and really only 6 or 7 on defense for the Bombers who you could say are legit.
  14. We like to hire people more than once.
  15. Just look at the stats man! Bottom 2 or 3 in the league in just about every defensive stat. https://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/2017-CFL-Statistics-to-Week-20-Final.pdf What is a DC supposed to do about that?
  16. If I'm a DC, potentially coming to Winnipeg, and I see what I have to work with here, do I really want to come? Unless I can have cart blanche to rebuild it how I want.
  17. Probably Jones choice, bet he's looking south of the border after next season.
  18. Good move for sure, gotta have stud tackles.
  19. Considering we are starting two studs in Westerman and Loffler on D, there is no rational excuse for the defence to be as bad as it was.
  20. Hall is definitely one of the reason's along with about 3 or 4 players on D. If the DC can't stand up to the HC, when he is obviously wrong on his starters, then he needs to either grow a pair or hit the road because he is of absolutely no use just going through the motions.
  21. Still out of coaching and had taken a career as a TSN panelist. Nichols and Harris get my credit for making the offence go.
  22. It's the CFL guys, it's near impossible to play man all the time unless you're sacking the qb on a regular basis. The field is just too wide to expect them to cover for any length of time as poor Roc Carmichael found out.
  23. He's still one of the best DC's in the league. Nelson was doing a fine job in Ottawa, wasn't really any reason to replace him except that someone better came on the market.
  24. Both were unemployed when we hired them, possibly even past their best before dates but they were good enough to replace Marcel and Gary, which isn't saying much.
  25. Too bad, Thorpe would have brought some legitimacy to the coaching staff.
