  1. Classic Saskatchewan fans. Souring on Demski when he is literally the LEAST of their problems. The kid has a lot of talent. He should get some reps at Running Back his natural position. God know's the Riders have zero running game right now.
  2. Do you know what the red zone is? They actually went 4/4 in the end zone including 3 touchdowns, and one field goal. Please stop this non sense of "leaving points" off the board. They were a hundred percent in the red zone with a 75 percent touchdown rate. Doesn't get much more efficient then that.
  3. Please read the following bolded. I agreed I wish the play calling in the second half was more aggressive. Yes no game is over in the CFL but Winnipeg never had to worry about Hamilton coming back. Point is Nichols took advantage of his opportunities in the first half when the game was ON THE LINE.
  4. The game was over. I wish we had more of a killer instinct, but Lapo was more concerned about running out the clock. I'll take 37 points any night. If Hamilton bothered showing up i'm sure our second half production would have been better.
  5. I don't think so. The difference in the second half was our passive play calling. We were running the ball, Hamilton was stacking the box. You don't have to keep the defense honest when you know Lapo is just trying to run down the clock. If we were more aggressive with our play calling Hamilton wouldn't stack the line, we'd still shred their secondary and Harris would have more room to run.
  6. We scored 3 first half touchdowns, two field goals, punted once, and ran out the clock on 6 first half possessions. Not too sure how we left "tons of points on the field." Nichols was efficient when he needed to be. If we don't score those touchdowns and come away with field goals instead it's a game going into the second half instead of being up 34-0. I put zero stock into our second half defense. Hamilton was defeated, they stacked the line and we ran out the clock.
  7. Fun fact. McDuffie actually has a better return average then Brandon Banks.
  8. McDuffie is a good returner.. Fogg is simply just better.
  9. Don't look now, but if we can manage to beat Toronto we'll be looking at 4-4 heading into the bye. This is a HUGE game for the Bombers. Who would of thought at 1-4 we had a chance
  10. I think this warrants its own thread but wow were the special teams great last night! Banks was completely contained last night. 3.8 yards per punt return. Banks is the player who could completely swing the momentum of a game with a big return but he was a non factor all game. It's great seeing a starter like Ian Wild lead the charge with 3 ST tackles. Some players think special teams are beneath them but Wild continues to bring it on every play no matter the circumstances. On the other hand. Kevin Fogg take a bow. 19.1 yards per punt return. Robbed of a touch down! Not the fastest guy but he has really good vision and is super shifty. Huge reason for the great field position we had in the first half. That punt block was well executed, and really put the dagger in the Ti-Cats. Seeing Austins face was priceless. Medlock. Ok he's worth every penny. 3/3 on field goals, no missed PAT's this year, and 44 yards per punt. Glad to see some consistency with our kicking game after years of it hurting us.
  11. I haven't seen a Blue Bombers team with this much depth front to end in years. In years previously once a guy who was performing went down we were in trouble. We've had a lot of players stepping up and showing they below once they get their chance.
  12. Riders try to grab Stampeders’ OL off practice roster Another player who doesn't want to play in Saskatchewan. Love it.
  13. Watching the riders lose is ALMOST as satisfying as watching the bombers win
  14. Castillo and Macho Harris should do the trick. ( Carter isn't going anywhere ) Actually surprised he couldn't stick down south.
  15. There is some deep rooted problems with this football team and there is no easy fix. Out of the 9 teams in the league the mental pysche of this team is by far the worst. Having problems with slow starts, making first downs, getting to the red zone, executing in the red zone. We seem so content on picking up what the defense gives us on offense. On second and long they will give the five yard pass every time. I'm tired of constantly seeing 3rd and 3. I'm tired of the slow starts, i'm tired of seeing us being so painfully bad at home. I want us to come out hungry like a team that wants to it more then the other team. On defence I want us to capitalize on errand throws, and not drop easy interceptions, to play inspired all the time and not just in the second half. The mental toughness of this team is weak. The difference between us and teams like Calgary and Edmonton is when the game was still on the line they executed and delivered. There is no simple fix. It's not just the quarterback, it's the mentality. How come a previously win less team like Saskatchewan can play with more energy, and more passion then us?
  16. I remember when Brad Richards, Vincent Lecavalier, and MSL were up and coming stars and they won the cup.. That was now 12 years ago.. and they're all retired now. I feel old.
  17. No it seems like the Bombers are content on being mediocre this season. No sense of urgency from O'shea to Walters to Miller. Anything less then a playoff birth from the bombers should be the kiss of death but I feel like another 5-13 year will be acceptable. But don't worry. Next year will be different. *sarcasm
  18. I don't think Gale, Tate, or Franklin are better then Drew Willy. Also Lulay, Jennings, Glenn and Willy are probably sandwiched into the same group depending on who you like better. He's certainly a step below the Mitchell,Harris, Durant, Reilly, and Burris's of the league.
  19. I know things look bleak but please name me 15 better QB's then Drew Willy. He's absolutely on the lower spectrum of starting quarterbacks in the CFL but I don't think there's 15 better Qb's in the league.
  20. On a side note I really enjoyed watching Michael Bishop play. The guy could throw the ball down the field effortless. Unfortunately he had no football IQ or pocket awareness but he sure did throw a pretty ball. To this day I don't think i've seen a quarterback throw wide field as effective as Bishop.
  21. the officiating and rod black is just cringe worthy. Too bad because these are two good quarterbacks. It should be a good viewing experience. But this is tough to watch.
  22. On an amusing note. It's funny how insecure Rider fans are. On their board they keep talking about how bad Hamilton is, how bad BC is, how bad Winnipeg played, how small Smith is ( Even though him and Dressler were Rider royalty last year). I've never seen a fan base coming off a 3 win season and currently 0-3 if you include pre-season so arrogant. I can't wait to see Edmonton spank them tonight.
  23. My favourite was when they told the viewers that Macho Harris was on side. Well no **** its a kickoff! The ball is live. It's so bad it doesn't even bother me anymore. In one ear, out the other.
  24. I've seen catches like that many times! (in Madden)
  25. My thoughts based on last nights win.. -Loved Lapo's game plan. People complain about the dink and dunk but it was important to get into a rhythm early and move the ball, and most importantly.. Keep our defense off the field. Thought we did a nice job of getting our play makers the ball. Smith on a shovel pass, Harris on a swing pass, Davis on a hook. Head and shoulders more creative then our Offence in the past. -Drew Willy. I thought he was effective. Nearly 300 yards passing, 1 TD (NOT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER!!) Completed 75 percent of his passes. Now I know the game plan was simple but I thought considering how disasterous his career has been against Hamilton and how aggressive their defense plays I thought Willy did a good job of getting the ball out quickly. He looked a lot more confident in the pocket too. Now there's still accuracy issues where the ball has been either off the mark, or under/over thrown but this is the most comfortable and efficient i've seen Willy look since 2015's game opener. -Andrew Harris. Continues to be worth the big money. The guy NEEDS to be involved in our offense. Great safety valve for Willy in the passing game, and had a couple of huge runs in the fourth quarter to take some time off the clock. He has come as advertised. -Receiving core is an area of strength. Davis and Adams continue to impress. Smith and Willy finally looked to develop some chemistry. I can honestly see Smith catching a 100 balls this season. He's so good in the short game. Dressler looked a little rusty but it's to be expected. -O-line effort was much better. Only gave up two sacks against an aggressive Hamilton defense. Goosen was a noticeable weak spot though. -Pressure? I thought the Bombers did a great job of getting to Masoli. Front four played MUCH better, and a lot of creative blitzes made Masoli's life miserable. Leggett- What can you say. The guy is a baller. He just has a knack for being in the right spot, his defensive instincts are so good. Two INT, one pick six, one sack, and 5 tackles. Game changing type of player. -Secondary. I thought the secondary struggled a little. I was surprised to see Randle get beaten so badly on that dropped end zone pass to Underwood. Owens looked good last night, the guy can still ball. Fantuz and Tasker are also extremely good. -Special teams. Thought we did a great job at containing Banks minus the one missed field goal, Mcduffie continues to impress, I think he'll return one to the house before too long. Waggoner continues to impress on the teams, and a heads up play by Macho on the kick off. -O'shea. Finally! One of his best coached games since joining the Bombers. Seems like we always come out short on the challenges but we actually went 2/2 last night. Huge monkey off his back. The whole team looked hungry and focused last night. Good Job coach!
