Yantz doesn'st feel he was given a fair shot
Arnold_Palmer replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Your missing the point. It's not just about Yantz. It calls into question the credibility of our GM, if he's making promises to players and not keeping them. Other players pay attention to this stuff. Good lord.. How many reps do you think every other 5th string quarterback get? He got an opportunity to show his stuff. He was more then a long shot to make it. He stuck around longer then most people thought. If this was Yantz from Kentucky this would be a non issue. Players that get cut always think they didn't get a fair chance, what else is new. -
I don't know.. Maybe signing with another team made him reflect on his time here in Winnipeg? Had some great things to say about the city, its rare to see a professional athlete acknowledge our city and fan base. Very classy tweet by Vega.

Friday's Preseason Game - Tickets?
Arnold_Palmer replied to comedygeek's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If anyone wants to donate two tickets for me and my girl friend I mean that would be greatly appreciated.. Shes lived in Winnipeg for 8 years and hasn't been to a single game. I got us tickets to the first regular season game but it so happens we both have this Friday off, so if anyone wants to help me create a new fan that would be great -
Not my call. Haven't been to camp to see them. Don't have access to the meetings, film, etc. Coaches make those decisions. Coaches make the decisions and you criticize those decisions even though you don't have access to practices, meetings, film, etc. The old 'the coaches know more than anyone else' argument. Bomber coaches have crafted 1 winning season since 2008, or 1 in the last 7 seasons, so I don't feel bad about not blindly accepting their decisions. If they can eek out some better records, then I'd put more trust in their decisions. You would have a point.. Except our coaching staff has had one year together not seven. We went from the laughing stock in the league in 2013, to a team fighting for a play off spot. You can look at the glass half empty but i'll give some trust to this coaching staff, We did go from 3-15 to 7-11 in one season. Not quite a winning season but compared to the mess they've had to clean up it's a nice start.

Important for future contract negotiation, is she from Wpg.? I used to be good friends with her. Shes from Winnipeg.

Keep in mind. It's the start of training camp and most of these players haven't played any actual football in months. Minor muscle pulls, and little injuries are quite common at the start of camp. Let's stop speculating that these injuries are "serious" when it's more realistic that most of them are day to day injuries.

Paris Cotton moved to practice roster
Arnold_Palmer replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I wasn't the biggest Grigsby fan but he's slowly winning me over. He's ran a lot tougher in the last couple of games. His pass blocking has improved tremendously, he's a threat as a pass catcher out of the back field, and him leading the league in yardage and touchdowns is a testament of Grigsby being a big part of our offense. I loved what I saw from Cotton in the pre season and maybe he didn't get enough touches when he saw the field but when he did get his touches he didn't do enough with the ball and in this game it's definitely what did you do for me lately. Got to capitalize on your chances in the CFL. -
Not only is Kuale a liability on defense but he's taking costly penalties. He's killing us out there.

CFL.ca Team names Midseason All-Stars
Arnold_Palmer replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
On reputation alone i'm surprised there's no love for January. I mean I agree he's about as mediocre as they come but that hasn't stopped him from a few all star selections in the past. -
You don't have to apologize for anything. Oh and btw being young doesn't make you any less of a fan. Who cares if your team has been successful over that period. Sounds like sour grapes on 17's part to me anyways.

Two low hits in a row on Demarco in a 25 point game. Thats bull ****.

Ottawa's offense is awful. Henry Burris stinks.

100% Cotton

He can't block, he can't catch! He doesn't hit the hole hard. Definitely disappointing. If you're our starting tail back and you're struggling to get positive yards you better be protecting the quarterback on throwing downs. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Time to sit on the bench.

Simply not good enough. With even a decent running game tonight we win this in a blow out. Can't win many games with a one dimensional offense.

Five years ago today - how far we have come
Arnold_Palmer replied to kelownabomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Oddly enough 2010 was an exciting year. After the Mike Kelly drama. We lost something like 9 guys by 4 or less points but we had a young team with tons of talent that had a lot of heart and pride and never gave up. Even though we came up short you could tell we were on the cusp of something great. We went 7-2 to start of the year in 2011 but unfortunately it went all down hill from there. It's nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel here in 2014. -
He's as good as he comes advertised if not better. Hands down the best move Walters made after Willy. Loved it at the time, loving it now.

If this game was in Edmonton I think i'd pick Edmonton to win in a close one. Since the games in Winnipeg and the fans will be amped up I think we squeak one out. Think it's going to go down to the wire again.

To me it looks kind of bush league that there's exempts because their considered valuable to the league. I'm thinking to myself what if the CFL had a down year and the salary cap had to go down and Ray, Burris, Durrant, and Cornish were exempt from the salary cap not only would this look bad, but it would piss me off seeing someone from another team getting to keep their star player without having to worry about the salary cap.

Riders expected to sign Will Ford

Anthony Allen is leading the league in rushing but sure lets create a log jam at the runningback position in Saskatchewan.. But that's really none of my business. -
Kyle Walters Greatest Challenge

Is Nate even a Bomber fan? All I hear is bitter resentment in all his posts. -

I thought Bucknor held his own. Quarterbacks will always try and test the Canadian in the secondary but I thought his play was pretty solid. Had a huge hit too. Very textbook. The guy can play.
