I really like what Walters and the team are doing with their DL so far, they’re really committed on getting a better, deeper unit this season.

I never said we were a one dimensional team but the shift in philosophy has changed. We’re at our best when Brady has the football in his hands. Yes I think number 8 is the best quarterback in the CFL, yes I think having a balanced attack helps our offense in both areas, and yes I think Kenny is a great player but my point is there’s going to be tough decisions to make next off season and I don’t see us having three or the top four highest paid receivers in our roster next season, it’s just unlikely at this point, especially with how much we paid for number 8 and for number 20.

Me and my girl friend went to go pick up our season tickets today, really fun event at the stadium, I bit the bullet and bought a chris streveler jersey. It was the first jersey I purchased since I got a Charles Robert’s one for Christmas when I was 10 years old lol! I was torn on who to get, but I figured no matter what Streveler’s cult hero status as a Bomber will never fade so it was a safe bet.

Agreed, not only that but the philosophy of our offense has changed. It revolves around the ground game with the emergence of Brady Oliveria as the focal point of the offense. No matter what we can’t pay a receiver closer to 300 k and have three of the top paid receivers in the league when we’re a ground and pound football team that money can be spent trying to find a tackle, or an upgrade to the front seven year year. I love me some Kenny Lawler but you’re right he’ll have to shave some salary off if we see him back in blue and gold, I guess part of the discussion will be with Schoen and if we can lock him up long term or he gets one last NFL shot, my money would be on him being back but I would be shocked if they’re both back next season at over 500 k

901 in 12 games. It was good, I just know he has another gear. It gets tricky because him, Schoen and Demski are three of the four highest paid receivers in the CFL. Depending on how this season goes there’s going to have to be some tough conversations of where to allocate the money.
-
He’s going to have to. He’s making shy of 300 k, second highest paid receiver in the league.. I understand it was a tough start for him because of the suspension but he’s going to have to be a little bit better this year than he was last year. Not to say he was bad but when you’re paid top dollar you have to be one of the top players. I think he’s going to have a huge season this year btw

Me too. I’ve always hated the Riders but always respected who Weston was as a player and as a person. A real heart and soul guy. I know he wasn’t completely in his prime here in Winnipeg but he still had some productive years here and helped change our culture around to the winning culture it is today. -
Jake Thomas was a solid rotational player for us for many years, the issue is there’s a difference between a 28 year old Jake Thomas playing on a heavy rotational DL line up in 2019 and a 32 year old Jake Thomas starting almost every game for us. With Cam Lawsons injury I’m hoping that doesn’t mean status quo this year I would still go with an all American DL and If that means Jake Thomas rotates in, that’s something I could live with, but I would be extremely disappointed if he plays as often as he did in 2023..

It’s not a stupid point LOL anyone who posts here is obviously a big fan, but a big fan who can’t even support their team during training camp like what? You said you were interested in camp battles? Okay then go check them out tor yourself? Why is it a foreign concept to actually go support your team in person if you cared enough too instead of bitching and complaining about the media.
-
You get Holliday time? You get time off? No one to blame but yourself. If you wanted to do it bad enough you would. But you spend your time complaining about it on here instead.
-
The media coverage is pathetic I didn’t deny that but you said you were curious about training camp battles? Get your butt out there on a day when you’re not working and see for yourself. It’s not a difficult concept, you’re a fan, you don’t work seven days a week, go see for yourself.
-
I know it’s frustrating but to those who are complaining, no one is stoping you from going down to training camp yourself, especially if it’s on a Saturday or Sunday, you can see all the position battles you want, and god forbid even bring that info back to MBB. I get it we live in a era where we want our information spoon fed to us and I get frustrated with the fact that it’s hard to get info but then I remember if I wanted to know bad enough I’d be there myself..

How you could have someone around that bet on their OWN games, you just can’t trust someone like that. Tells you exactly what their organization is all about. -

Wonder how his teammates will feel about that. Can’t imagine it going well in the locker room. -

Seems like he’s bad mouthing his own league, what a chump. -
Yeah the thing is good Nat players are worth a premium, unfortunately we have to continue to draft good Canadian players because there’s no way in a salary cap era we’re going to be able to hold on all those guys looking for raises. The double edged sword is having guys who are some of the best players in the CFL regardless of nationality, like Brady and Demski, they need to be paid, in a perfect world we would still have guys like Desjarlais and Kongbo still on our roster but we can’t pay everyone.

I love jokes, I don’t mind what some would consider “edgy” humour but that was just tone deaf and brutally un funny. Not great when you insult potentially 30-50 percent of your fan base. -
Former Blu Bomber Craig Roh has passed away

This is incredibly sad. He was my age. Good player, and represented the Winnipeg Blue Bombers extremely well, glad he got to win a ring with us in 2019 -

Honestly. Very happy with this. BC and Toronto had the money to spend so I feel like 2023 was the year for both teams to make a run, this levels the playing field quite a bit and if that means BC can’t afford to keep other players then so be it.
