  1. Probably wants a significant raise. with all the star receivers taking priority and getting signed between 200-300 k a lot of GM’s are going to be hesitant to throw North of 200 for Bailey. I guess that becomes the problem when your top receiver or two is making so much it’s the second tier guys who suffer because most GM’s will need to bring in a young American receiver to fill that hole. No doubt he’ll find a home but it may not be on day one.
  2. Agreed if big targets like Woli and Augdosi are your 4th and 5th options you’re in a really good position..
  3. Well said. It really shows how spoiled we’ve become when we complain about Grey Cup performances; like getting there three years in a row and winning two isn’t a major accomplishment.. Like we didn’t have a 30 year drought and a lot of bad to mediocre seasons in between that time period.. heck 10 years ago I just wanted the Bombers to not be the laughing stock or the league. How quick we forget!
  4. I saw that. Curious to see what kind of coin he signed for.
  5. 200k for Sayles might end up being the worst move of the entire off season. Wow I can’t believe Hamilton is throwing that kind of money at him.
  6. Maybe they make a bid for Geno? For the price tag he demands id probably rather have White and Dunbar..
  7. He made 305 last year. He isn’t going to be had for 250 unfortunately.
  8. Guarantee you the Riders over paid to get him and he’ll be making as much if not more then CF was making this season you can bet on that. With the way the market is shaping up it’s looking like another season with a terrible o-line for the Riders, Knowing the state of the franchise I think this is a last ditch effort on O’day to keep his job.
  9. I guess you can argue that however, BC and Edmonton threw around a ton of money on day one last year too.
  10. Gotta rely on our scouting department to fill some of those holes. Can’t always be free agent Day one winners. Teams that over spend in free agency are rarely playing in November.
  11. Well he’s played 13 and 12 games in the last two seasons. In a full season he would have easily had two, thousand yard seasons easily. Like I said I think he has even another level he can take his game. It would be a big big loss losing Demski in his prime.
  12. Really wouldn’t be too happy. Demski is a Swiss Army knife who I still believe has another gear,he’s close to really becoming a dominant player plus his passport makes him to me more valuable then almost any American receiver in the league. I don’t really see a scenario where we get Lewis or Lawler cheaper then what Demski is going to get so unless Demski doesn’t want to be here I would rather just use the money on him.
  13. Well I guess it depends.. Ellingson has been the better player when healthy but he’ll be 35 by the team the CFL season is over in 2023. I guess I can’t really see a scenario where a 34 year old is going to get less injury prone, I would rather roll the dice on Wieneke who was outstanding in 2021.
  14. Agreed. He’s also 6’4 he would be a great deep ball target for ZC8
  15. Depends. If they command 300 k each I would rather let another team over bid.
  16. What do you think the thread name “Non Bombers news” means?
  17. He’s not a top QB though.. maybe before his injury but in my opinion he’s a middle of the road guy at best. Curious to see what will happen, Statistically Calgary had the best o-line in the league and a good running game to keep them honest, Hamilton has neither so far.
  18. 500 k is way too much at this point in his career for Mitchell, and with the draft picks this could be eventually considered a fleecing by Calgary down the road. Remember Hamilton has an absolutely terrible O-line he’s not going to be protected like he was in Calgary.
  19. Our return game was non existent when he was injured. I for one appreciate him tremendously haha!
  20. I’m not sure if I like that rule. Sure I look continuity, but we’re going to see less young guys get a shot because of the advantage a team gets to stick with the vet that’s been on the same club for the last 3 plus years.
  21. Come on Mike it’s not like he’s 38 he just turned 30 in October, more importantly doesn’t have a lot of mileage on his body, he’s a good football player had 17 sacks last year and was constantly doubles teamed. Would have taken him over Jeffcoat at this stage in their careers absolutely.
  22. Can we leave the covid talk in the general forum in the proper forum? There’s been non stop covid talk for nearly 3 years now. None of what is being said here is new, news. I come to the Bomber forum to discuss football not being dragged into a political debate. If you want to talk about covid there’s active threads going on, let’s get back on track and use this thread to talk about the Blue and Gold. Go Blue!!
  23. Bighill was just fine once Alexander came back from injury. He was playing deeper and in coverage a lot more when Alexander was out and I think it messed up his pursuit angles. He was very good down the stretch, vintage Bighill once he was able to play where he normally plays.
