Bombers can clinch a playoff spot with a win Friday night. Who could have imagined 6 weeks ago at 2-6 that would be the outcome right now. Pretty amazing.
-
I’m glad I’ll be at the game on Friday and don’t have to listen to all the ford vs ford talk. So many interesting story lines between two of the hottest teams in the league and it all gets ignored for the ford brother hype train.
-
I’m ok with MBT. We were getting killed on the run game because of the RPO. Without Fords threat to run I can trust the guys to key into the run a little better and our secondary is always outstanding. I didn’t see anything with MBT to indicate we’d be in trouble.

Bombers at Elks GDT (Ford vs. Ford)

All the negative Nancy’s are quiet now. 6 game winning streak, 1.5 games up on B.C. for first in the west and a 13 point win on the road against the “hottest team in the league” -

O line giving Zach time to throw on that first drive. Usually Kenny comes down with that. Decent start. -

Nice! Could be a good prospect. We desperately need some juice on the DL whether or not he gets any chance this year, but could be an interesting piece in 2025. -

Yeah I noticed after the first bye the game plan changed to get rid of the ball more quickly. We had a lot of big plays in previous years with those long developed plays where Zach had time, it’s apparent he’s just not going to get that time to throw. -

We know he isn’t 2021 Zach but we have to give him some credit. After a 2-6 start we’re first in the west and he’s done a good job of taking care of the football after a tough start -

Winnipeg number one, Calgary and Sask at the bottom. I like it a lot! -

Yeah I’m in my 30’s, don’t have a single friend with cable lol -
The 30, and the (d)evolution of our front scheme.

If Holm is your worst DB you have an outstanding secondary. -

Bonds is absolutely the star, you never hear his name because the receiver is never making plays in front of him. He’s absolutely the definition of shut down DB. Nichols and Ford are great but even they occasionally get burnt. Bonds just quietly does his job. He’s so good. -
Johnson/ Wheatfall

I mentioned before the season started that having three of the highest four paid receivers in the league might be a poor resource for our cap. I mentioned that I thought maybe Lawler would have to be the one to go. Quite frankly the only one that is truly worth the money is Schoen but of course he’s been injured the whole season. I suggested Lawler having to take a pay cut in 2025. Regardless there’s going to be a lot of interesting decisions regarding the make up of this roster next season. We’ve had the worst case scenario where we’ve lost Schoen and Lawler for a large portion of the season. People weren’t too happy with my assessment before the season started but I thought that something would have to give, as Zach and Brady also took up a large portion of our cap. -

I think Wilson will be the short yardage guy, and hopefully Jake and Bryan never have to see the field but atleast they’re guys who have been around for awhile and can hopefully run an offence. -
Johnson/ Wheatfall
Arnold_Palmer replied to Thunder and Lightening's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Exactly. You can’t be a black hole out there as a target. You have to keep a defense honest. If Johnson can’t be relied upon to catch the ball or stretch the field he’s absolutely a waste of a roster spot. Put Wheatfall out there, he’s a big target, Zach’s been missing that deep shot player most of the season. Let the defense have to worry about someone other then Lawler or Demski going deep. -
I laughed how they tried to steal our “loudest fans” motto for when they sung the anthem. It hasn’t even been close now for the last 7-8 years.
-
It was one of the loudest non playoff games I’ve ever been too. Also I’ve never seen such few green jerseys at the banjo bowl. Seems to be getting less and less every year.
-
I wouldn’t call it chilly! Perfect day for football actually.
-
I just don’t see what they see in Johnson. When you have a tall deep threat like Wheatfall ready to go. A guy that had a 100 yard gsme and was developing chemistry with Zach. It’s so obvious Zach doesn’t trust Johnson they always try to game plan to get him involved early but when it’s crunch time the ball is never thrown his way.
-
This takes the cake. This actually might be the worst use of game day management I’ve ever seen. At least with injuries you could excuse some of it previously but yeah this is bad.

What ever DD. That ended up being the best decision the Bombers ever made. We’ve had more success in the last six years than the Riders have had over a 100 years and that’s just sad. Screw DD, screw the riders and can’t wait until we give them our annual banjo bowl game thrashing. -
Exactly. Buck and the staff have ruined this guy. No doubt in my mind the guy would be thriving if he was in say Montreal.

Me and my girl friend will be there. She recently found her childhood Charles Robert’s jersey when we were packing to move in together so she’ll be rocking that on Saturday! Go Blue!!
