  1. The most underrated part of Winnipeg is the commute. No matter where you’re going it’s never more then 30 minutes away inside the city, that’s a luxury you’ll just never get in a big city.
  2. It’s funny I met a couple yesterday from Vancouver that absolutely love Winnipeg, the food, the culture, the architecture. I work with a marketing agency and we went out for drinks and dinner with some clients that are from Alberta and Toronto respectively.. they both loved Winnipeg too. They like how friendly Manitobans are, the cool restaurants, how attractive the women are lol! Anyways long story short there’s pros and cons to every city but Winnipeg does have a charm to it. Everything they say is absolutely 100 percent correct.
  3. Charles”Blink” Roberts was pretty good.
  4. Well if they plan on practising Thursday then it must be very close.. great news!
  5. Things have changed since the 90’s though. I read that out of the 5.9 million new jobs available in the US over 70 percent of them don’t require a 4 year degree. Heck my girl friend was a master student with an engineering degree and I took a few business courses and we make within 10 k of each other. Football players especially coming to the CFL know this is there last chance, they have a back up plan trust me.
  6. That’s what I like to hear. Let’s be completely honest right now. Both sides NEED each other. You can pull a bluff all you want but by not playing football you’re hurting both sides.
  7. A little disingenuous to assume these people are going be stocking shelves. A lot of people have a plan B after football including degrees and side ventures. Most of the players coming to the CFL know this is their last chance at “professional” football it really rubs me the wrong way when people refer to these people as Walmart greeters.
  8. Any standouts so far?
  9. Bryant without a doubt gets in. I wanted to make the case for Harris as well but he only played 5 seasons in Winnipeg, obviously feels longer with the pandemic lost year.
  10. Love this by the way. Seems like a high character guy. Hopefully he has the talent and ability to be a capable back up QB. His maturity, hard work, and poise is a good start though.
  11. In all fairness. Through good years and bad years we were always spoiled with good to great receivers like Gordon, Stegall, Bruce, Simon, and even Armstrong and Edwards. Our standards for ridiculous receivers were quite high. Now I’m just hoping we can get atleast just one receiver from these camps to be a competent starter.
  12. I like what Toronto has done in this draft so far. They’re using the Winnipeg approach.. OL,DL, and they drafted their future running back.
  13. They’re clean. Seems like colour rush is the new fad for football jerseys. I’ll reserve judgment until I see them on the field. I’ve seen many jerseys over the years that looked just ok in picture that looked a lot better live.
  14. Should have just made no yards an automatic 10, instead of 15. There’s going to still be a lot of ticky tack no yards calls and 15 for an accidental no yards seems to be a steep price.
  15. Team is ALL in for a three peat. Love the way the roster is shaping up.
  16. Agreed you can’t tell me playing in June is worse then playing in December.
  17. Could you imagine if they made a retro version of our “unfinished business” early 2000’s jerseys. I mean wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world those were pretty nice.
  18. Alex Hall would like to say his congratulations
  19. I’m a pretty open guy when it comes to change, but this would absolutely undoubtedly kill what the CFL represents and I would NOT be in favour of supporting it. In fact if that happened I would no longer support the CFL. The league may have its issues but having three downs is not one of them.
  20. Charles Roberts is 5th all time in rushing in CFL history. He deserves it. He was absolutely dynamic on some horrible mid 2000’s Bomber teams. I don’t care about the grey cup experience he’s still earned it.
  21. 127 k for Adam’s isn’t egregious but I’m glad to be spending the money else where.
  22. They want to grow the game but god forbid they actually get some good talent out of it and want to pay them properly.. Seems counter productive. That’s definitely something that should be discussed at the next CBA.
  23. No certainly not but typically viruses mutate and become more contagious but less severe over time. The Omicron variant has essentially gotten us out of this pandemic. Not to say things can’t happen or get worse but I would be shocked
  24. I sure hope so. There’s plenty of opportunity for someone to step up in the receiving core. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to watch on the sidelines wishing you were on the field being able to make an impact so hopefully make stronger then ever.
