Surprised Jake Thomas is still available. I assume he wants starter money when in reality he's better suited to be a rotational player.
-
Good move. We have a scary deep forward core. Having Stastny replace Copp on our third line is huge.
-
Played team Manitoba with Thomas Miles. The guy is a beast. Really quick for his size too. Good ST guy, and maybe could fit somewhere in the rotation but I couldn't ever see him being a serviceable every down LB in the the CFL.
-
Last season people were saying they'd kill to have a MLB like Henoc be available. I think we need to find the money to make this work. He's not just a good player who happens to be Canadian. He's a great player who is absolutely a ratio buster.

Game 60 : Triple Crown Line @ Crown Royal

6-3-1 at home is fine. It's tough having 10 games at home in a row. You tend to get complacent and it feels less of a home advantage. -
We're certainly not cutting Dressler, and I'd be surprised if we cut Fogg or Wild. Only because we just signed them. That's bad business and I don't think the Blue Bombers organization operates in that way. I think we have the space for him if not maybe someone minor is a cap casualty.

It's funny how Demski, and Muamba are now overrated and not worth the money but they were both stars all season long in the eyes of Rider fans. Pretty laughable the way they treat ex players.
-
Montreal has to over pay. Just like we did in 14 because we didn't have the reputation of a top notch franchise. It's actually too soon to say who won. It's usually some of the smaller moves a few days down the line that end up making a difference.
-
100 percent. I was wondering why things were quiet with Reed and Woods in the market. If we could get Muamba I'd give Walters an A for free agency.
-
Good price for Messam. He's clearly lost a step in the past year but used accordingly he'll be a good pick up.
-
We need to show Henoc the money. Puzzling fortune of events for the Riders but we need to be all over this. The upgrade from Hurl to Muamba is substantial and this could be the move to put our team over the top.

Game 58 : Legal @ Illegal

Tanev can skate, play defense, and hit. We all know Tanevs limits on offense, but all Thorburn can do is take a punch. -

Hendricks and Tanev are miles better then Thorburn ever was. -

I love the fact that we can have talented players on all four lines, with guys who can also come in and not skip a beat and play our bottom six. Long gone are the days of Thorburn, Peluso, Glass, etc wasting roster spots and being an anchor on whatever line they were on. -
Yes I get the ratio and the fact that Wilder is on a rookie contract but close to six figures for a back up Canadian Runningback.. I think the money could used more efficiently.
-
I get the ratio but pretty crazy a player like Wilder gets 50 k and a back up running back makes 80k.
-
Well let's just say they're not taking much of a home town discount. .
-
He's nearly 80..

Ran the short yardage/jumbo package perfectly! Just couldn't throw the football over 10 yards.

Blue Bomber Free Agent List

I don't think he was overly that great last season either. I was a big fan but he was a step slower last season, and took some bad penalties. -
Love this signing. Now bring in Demski and suddenly we have a pretty dangerous receiving core.

How good would SJ Green look in a Bomber uniform -
The fact Lafrance is making over six figures for the Rough Riders is hilarious.

I normally agree with honouring your contract.. However in the CFL since contracts aren't guaranteed he and others can be thrown to the curb at any moment. If GM's don't have to honour their contracts then I don't so much blame Wilder. He signed a contract to prove himself. He played great.. Pay the man what he deserves or let him chase his dream in the NFL like any other good organization would do.

Not a chance he's here for that much.
