  1. ELITE AT WINNING! 14-5 as a starter since coming in for Drew Willy, and sure he doesn't put up as many yards as the other elite QB's in the league, but he protects the ball, and he will do whatever it takes to win. His game winning drives against Montreal and Ottawa prove how big how balls are when push comes to shove.
  2. Decent job? JFG catches everything that's thrown his way. He's on pace for almost 600 yards. But yes having another capable NI reciever would be perfered. I hope DW can be that guy. In not mad at who we picked at number one. We have some depth at DL I'm ok with developing and easing him into the line up. Obviously they see starter potential in him one day and we have the players in place right now that it doesn't have to be this season.
  3. Also last week to BC in convincing fashion but shh they have short memories. It's like after every loss it's the end of the works but by the middle of the week they come into every game super cocky. It's a peculiar thing.
  4. I remember when we were in a position of little depth and were grabbing guys off PR. I don't miss that era. I'm so glad we've built a team with a good starters, and good depth, and mostly importantly good Canadian depth.
  5. I read rider fans proclaiming they would beat BC and sweep us. Delusional bunch over there.
  6. Great move by the NFL. One step closer to continuity and consistency for the refs. I would love to see that in the CFL but I don't know if it's in the budget for the CFL. Referring has been especially bad this year.
  7. I was a big fan of KG back in the days but the fans ran him out of town..
  8. Signed Phillip Hunt, traded for O'dell Willis, signed Hefney, signed Jovon Johnson, brought in Adaruis Bowman who is still a star today. All these guys except for Hefney who was arguably the best of them all are still in the CFL today almost 8 years later. I call BS
  9. Oh I don't know.. Mike Kelly was a **** for sure.. But he was a decent coach. He almost got us to the playoffs with Michael fricking Bishop. The year before he was in Edmonton and helped Ricky Ray achieve the best season of his career. He was also the OC for some really good Bomber offenses in the 90's including Dunigans 700 yard passing game, and the HC for Reid's single game rushing record. The biggest problem is Taman had a lot of over paid, underachieving vets on his roster the year before so it was somewhat of a rebuilding season. I personally think he laid the ground work for the success of the 2011 Grey Cup team. He obviously had his faults and I don't blame them for going another direction after the season but scrubs like Reinbold, and Burke were a whole level worse then Kelly.. Infact the Burke era was some of the most unbearable football I've ever seen. You almost came into the game hoping new players would make an impact and were worth keeping for next season instead of expecting to win the game.
  10. No doubt in my mind Hamilton will try to play like Ottawa last week and run with a hurry up offense and try and get the ball out quickly. That O-line is attricous in Hamilton. I thought our defense made the right adjustments though on Ottawa so no reason to doubt they couldn't do it again. Obviously at this point in Hamilton players are playing for their job security so it's a must win for them. Can't take them lightly!
  11. I'm surprised JE never even got a shot with another team.
  12. I see no issue with it either. If you get the opportunity to potentially start and earn a game cheque on another roster so be it.
  13. I'm not complaining
  14. Meh he started 4 games his senior year at Oklahoma. I'm not at all that impressed.
  15. One other thing worth mentioning was the amount of times we were inches away from blocking punts. About three if I member correctly! If we take care of Hamilton like we should were sitting pretty at 5-2. Loving the adversity of this football team. For years we would always lose the close football games, in the last calendar year it seems like we're coming out of these games more often then not the W. Good football teams pull out wins. It's professional football, any team has a chance any given Sunday and comes to play. You've seen teams like Calgary always winning those close games. It's no coincidence.. They're a confident football club and I think we're we're on our way building confidence laying the foundation to be a great football in this league.
  16. On a somewhat related note. Looks like on the Rider board some posters are starting to call their 2016 first overall pick Josiah St.John "Shomari Williams" he can't make their active roster on a mediocre Saskachean offensive line.
  17. Richards was taken 11th overall in the second round. Let's not act like he was a first overall draft pick and busted, plenty of second rounders don't do a single thing in the CFL.
  18. We likely wouldn't have won without that call. So true.
  19. 1. Maurice Leggett- the leader of the defense. Just a whole different story with him out there in the secondary. 7 tackles and 2 sacks in his first game back. 2. JFD- 6 catches for 73 yards. The most consistent Bomber reciever tonight. I love his game and how sure handed he is. 3. Roc Carmichael- Shut down the leading reciever in the league. Made him a non factor all night. That late TD by Ellingson was a zone player where Loffler was late on the play. HM: Medlock - for going 5/6 with some tough kicks in the rain, a huge kickoff for the single point to made it a 3 point game, and good directional kicking. Nichols- 319 yards passing, no turn overs, another fourth quarter come back.. 14-5 as a starter since coming in for Willy last season. Not always pretty but I have a lot of respect for the guy he comes up big when it matters.
  20. Then the rain came and both teams stopped moving the ball.
  21. The good old bend and break defense never fails! 8-0 Ottawa. Offense is going to have to score 40 plus to win again I have a feeling.
  22. This time a year ago, the Bombers offence was averaging 17.6 points per game, eighth in the CFL, in a 1-4 start. Through five games this year, they are averaging 31.4 points, first in the league. He has led the Bombers on more TD drives, 17, than any other quarterback in the CFL. Most importantly, the Bombers are 13-5 since he took control of the offence late last July. And given the revolving door at the position for so many seasons, that’s worth repeating again: 13 wins, 5 losses or a winning percentage of .722. Yet people still feel the need to complain. All he does is win and this season he leads the league in producing touchdowns on drives. I could care less about the two and outs when we're producing a higher number of touchdowns per drive because yeah yards are nice but touchdowns win you games.
  23. I hope they show this in the locker room. I like Ottawa better then most but they're not a great team and that's total disrespect to the Bombers.
  24. Denmark and Adams will have to step up, hope Thorpe and Lankford can continue on their good play from last game. Perfect opportunity to shine for these guys.
  25. Some people strive on being miserable. It must hurt him so bad that we have a good football team.
