  1. My thoughts on the Columbus-Pitts game.. Fleury was fantastic. 39 saves. If Vegas gets him in the off season they'll be getting a quality goaltender. Crosby was noticeable every shift out there and it showed with 3 points. I thought Columbus played well but at the end of the day they just don't have any player as good on the ice as Crosby and Malkin.
  2. What I mean is he isn't a star. He's a great top six player. Stupidly underrated. Perfect number two center behind Scheifs.
  3. A lot will depend on Nichols. We've created a good team with depth around us. If Nichols plays as good if not better then last year we have a chance at a home playoff game. If he plays like he did in 2015 were fighting for 500.
  4. Meh there's a lot of questions about Nolan Patricks game. It's a weak draft. I just like seeing our best players playing good hockey. We have Scheifele, and Wheeler in the top ten for points in the NHL. Our two best young players Laine, and Ehlers are top 30 in points in the NHL. Trouba who's been great all season is finding his offensive game that we havent truly seen since glimpses of it in his rookie season. We have role players like Little and Perreault contributing. Hopefully Connor and maybe Roslovic can contribute next season. Guys like Pavs, Thorburn, and Stuart will be gone. There's still a question mark with goaltending and coaching but i still believe in Hellebuyck. Carey Price had a 9.05 Save percentage in his first full season after a good rookie season (9.20) Hellebuyck posted 9.18 and 9.06 respectively. I think the future still looks bright. Heck I feel a lot better getting a top ten draft pick and winning 7 in a row to close the season then getting a top 5 pick and losing 7 in a row to close the season.
  5. Two places I remember as a kid.. -ourbombers -13thman good times.
  6. RF is a pretty insuperable place to be. A lot of bandwagon fans from the mid 2000's. You'd think since they've been a terrible football club in the past 2.5 years they would gain some sort of humility.. But nope Jones is still a genuis, and every other CFL team is overrated.
  7. Career highlights and awards Ted Hendricks Award (2013) Consensus All-American (2013) Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year (2013) First Team All-Big 12 (2013) USA Today, Parade, EA Sports High School All-American (2009) Quite the pedigree. Hopefully his game transfers over to the CFL.
  8. Kohlert wasn't very good for us last year. He dropped too many balls. Hope he finds his game in Calgary. He was one of our best Canadian players in 2014. Shows how far our NI depth has come since then.
  9. This is correct. I believe Michael Bishop had a strong pre season game. He was even billed as the QB of the future once upon a time for the Patriots. Can you imagine that!
  10. The irony is real. Fans on RF making fun of the Argos for signing often injured Jeff Fuller, when the Riders just signed often injured Chad Owens.
  11. I would be a veryy happy camper if we landed Jackson.
  12. I don't mind the fact that we're not going all out in FA. Teams in the past like the Stamps, Eskimoes, etc rarely go out and over pay. I've seen enough from the organization to trust the process, concentrate on the draft, and on scouting and pick up a few pieces as we go along. like T.O, Stafford, and Navis.
  13. #AlsMTL ✔ @MTLAlouettes BREAKING: Three-year deal for defensive end Jabar Westerman @BigWest99 http://ow.ly/wFyC3091LJv #AlsMTL 1m
  14. Why in the world would anyone want to sign in Toronto without a HC/GM..
  15. Obviously Jones is putting all his chips on Franklin. Would be hilarious if we some how ended up with him
  16. I think people forget how truly special Charles Roberts really was.. 4 straight years of over 1500 yards rushing, only in his last year in Winnipeg was his YPC under 5 and from 2004-2006 in his prime he played under argueably one of the worst o-lines in CFL history. The guy was a special talent.
  17. Medlock just named most outsanding ST player. Worth every penny we're paying him.
  18. Best record in 13 years. Played some great football after a 1-4 start. I'm not disappointed with this season. But we need to grow next season and take the next step. Simply getting to the playoffs won't be good enough. We controlled our own destiny late in the season ( for a home playoff game) and lead for almost sixty minutes but we didn't pull through. It's how we rebound and get better next year which is the true test. If we regress then it's a failure but I'm a half glass full kind of guy and we made huge strives in bringing stability and giving the fans an honest effort day in and day out. Good season overall even after a tough defeat. I'll tell you guys this.. I'm looking forward to the next season a lot more then I was at this point last year.. So that has to count for something!
  19. I would strongly consider OUR first round pick for Franlkin (keep Toronto's) at the end of the day its better for Edmonton to move Franklin for some assets then leave them with nothing around this time next year.
  20. 6 Goals, and 8 points in 7 games. So far he has been money. Guy has a knack of positioning himself in the right space and has arguably the best shot in the league at 18 years old. Love Austin Matthews game, but happy with the guy we got.
  21. Ripper is a pretty good. The Rider forum is cringe worthy though.
  22. You would consider Saskatchewan a good team? They have 5 wins and lost to a no name rookie QB with no receiving core. I'd lump Saskatchewan into the group with Montreal and Toronto.
  23. Hope we get to see Adams and Gurley on the field on a few packages. I understand the loyalty to a guy like Smith but I think our receiving core is the most dangerous with Adams, Gurley, Denmark, and Dressler on the field at the same time.
  24. Interesting that his college stats seemed to drop after his freshman and sophomore year. Also not sure if it's a typo but he seemed to go 4/4 with 4 TD passes in his college career
  25. I kid you not..On the rider board that's just the general thought. They're the greatest five win team in the CFL history. Don't believe me? They'll tell you themselves!
