  1. It's the President's trophy, Trump should come to Canada and personally hand it to a Canadian team. Love to see what would happen. (I do know it is not a trophy named for the President of the US)
  2. I hope it's not the end for Apples, but he will have to play at a contract similar or slightly less than the one he is getting now. I would imagine someone else will pay him more.
  3. You gotta think that BO is going to get 20+ touches a game. Doesn`t leave much for anyone else in the backfield. I want to see more out of our backfield but we got to spread the rock around with the passing game too. Buck happened. Say what you want about Lapo but he was way more creative than Buck with formations, motion, and progressions. Buck was far more of a risk taker, and that worked for a time but his overall playbook was more vanilla than Lapos....and that`s saying something.
  4. More than likely spells the end of Apples. Iafallo at 3.66 is a much better spend though.
  5. Not really what I meant, but your point is valid. What I am saying is that he will get limited reps in the backfield to also not wear him down too much and because they will want him preparing and ready to excel at returner. Should he be a more valuable asset on offence than on teams we may flip the script but with BO back there reps are going to be hard to come by anyway. The days of teams lining up two RBs in the same backfield are long gone. I think MCI will get far more offensive reps than Logan.
  6. I agree. He is a lowlife, and unfortunately, the Argos seem to have quite a low bar on who they will employ. Mind you the Riders would likely snap up a guy of his character just as quickly.
  7. Yep, if Kelly wasn't such a bad apple he wouldn't be in this conversation. However, he has been, and likely will be again, chaos for every team he's played for. If he had half a noodle in his head he could be a franchise guy for many years for the Argos, heck he might even be in the NFL.
  8. I'll take an aging vet that may drop off, over the STRONG possibility that my QB does something epically stupid that derails the season, or locker room. 600k is not an outlandish QB salary. It's high, but top tier QB money has actually come down somewhat from Reilly and BLM days.
  9. He could have accepted the reality that early on his OL was not a well oiled machine yet, and that his new receivers were having some growing pains adjusting to the CFL game. I guess maybe his train of thought was to let them play through it until they come out the other side? But it beat the hell out of our QB, and made a bunch of winnable games early on into losses.
  10. We really shouldn't risk our KR/PR too much unless it is necessary. Logan may see some offensive touches, but unless BO is hurt, I don't see him seeing much time in the offence. That could change if someone else turns out to be a stud returner, but if those jobs are Logan's then he will, like all returners across the league really, have a very limited role outside teams. In the CFL it's just too important a role. So, in short, yea I agree with you.
  11. I think Buck's biggest error was not adjusting to his personnel when injuries hit the receiving corps. He kept pushing along as if Lawler and Schoen were in the lineup and that was a recipe for disaster early on.
  12. It will be Kelly all day long...every day.
  13. The offence has to evolve away from the boom or bust offence we have run the past 2 years. We need to get back to the misdirection, backfield in motion, of the first Buck year's with an expanded package for Strev. We do that and we are going to be just fine even with Zac. Buck saw our receiving corps and decided to stretch the field more, but when Lawler and Schoen missed significant time we didn't have the horses to do it and he kept at it.
  14. Kelly jumped the shark on the first day when he cut Glenn and told everyone it was because that is what they wanted so that's why he did it. If a GM got rid of a QB every time fans thought it would be a good idea, no QB would ever make it out of their rookie season.
  15. That's too bad, I'm kind of a morning cinnamon bun ***** and wish i would have had a chance to try one.
  16. Good to know...does it have the cream cheese topping as well? My post was just kind of being facetious a little. I don't expect him to be MOP, but I do expect a good season from him because I think BO and Logan will be a great tandem and a healthy Strev running a different offensive set will keep defences off balance.
  17. I fully expect him to contend for MOP this year.
  18. If they make the old cinnamon bun I may move back to Winnipeg.
  19. I'm not gonna call it trauma because my Dad was an awesome guy, it was the 70's and that's how it was done in my little redneck town I was raised. No regrets...I wouldn't repeat that now but in the big scheme of things it didn't mess me, or my childhood friends from similar upbringings, up too much...lol. Well, can't control the downturns a lot of the time. However, having these kind of numbers in a time that a lot of people are counting pennies due to inflation is very encouraging. Just keep winning, or at least be contending, and it looks like the Bombers should be just fine.
  20. Sounds a lot like my Dad may have been your coach.
  21. I really didn't like the way that Buck almost completely abandoned all the pre-snap motion we used to have in our offence. I am not sure why that happened, maybe all the new receivers? At any rate I think it hurt our offence, particularly when Streveler was playing. I am hoping our new OC brings some of that back, It may lead to some growing pains early on, but we were so vanilla the past two years and not just in the play calling but it can be seen pre-snap. That leads me to believe this was way more of a Buck issue than a Zac issue.
  22. Yea,,,I agree. I will caveat that hoggies are a bit of a different breed when it comes to how you prep them though. They need enough wind to play but the veteran big guys just need enough to get the chemistry back. Nothing more really.f
  23. TC is a slog even for the young guys. Guys like Paddy, you are just inviting injury by working them hard in camp. They have nothing to prove and do not need the reps. I agree, that they should be out there and getting some reps and a bit of game time but they don't need a lot, especially the hogs.
  24. Look, I'm not sitting here trying to give Zac a free pass. He needed to be, and needs to be better. I am simply stating the obvious that in the past 3 Grey Cups he has gone up against juggernaut defences while our defence allowed late game heroics by opposing QBs. Should Kelly ever have been able to come off the bench and beat us? Fajardo take it to us in the 4th Q? Arbuckle actually do anything productive let alone beat us? There is more to these losses than Zac's play that's for sure. I would take Dru or Rourke over Zac now too. Sadly, that option is not available to us. Vaj...nope...I'll stick with Zac thank you.
  25. I have no issue with criticism of a QB in the playoffs as long as it comes with praise when he does well also. You were deriding, rightfully so, his play in Grey Cups lately but then suggesting he got lucky in the good games he played. I don't think either of those opinions are a complete story. When his team has played well and executed so has he, when they haven't he hasn't. Is he able to lift a team badly playing up to victory..nope..but I don't see anyone in the CFL right now who can.
