  1. This is how we've played ball since 2019. I think our Grey Cup champ status has a lot of people forgetting that we've pulled out a ton of victories on 4th Q dominance in the last few years. Also, DT has already confirmed that QB pressures are actually down from last year even though sacks are up. That's not poor protection, that's a change in our O game plan that can be fixed. We are 5-2 and on pace for a 12-13 win season...if that is shitting the bed I'll take it.
  2. I guess we should just give up and start the rebuild if we lose tonight then. This is our playoffs.
  3. You don't know that. Tons can happen. Tons. You are talking like teams have never fell off down the stretch, and it happens almost every year. Also, sometimes crap teams get their act together. It can happen. Are you willing to write off the entire league at this point save Toronto, BC, and us? I'm not. Last year Toronto was not very good through the first 9 games. They were 4-5 I believe and then became a juggernaut in the 2nd half.
  4. Gotta remember that last game we played them we were missing half our secondary and half our starting DL as well. They rolled up some points on us and forced our offence out of the game plan. I just think we are fielding a vastly superior lineup this week.
  5. I think what we have seen so far is game ones against the opposition. Once you face them a 2nd time the coaching cream rises to the top generally.
  6. We were rolling on them early in the last game too, until discipline became an issue and things snowballed from there. I think a lot of people who've never played really don't understand the mental aspect of momentum sometimes. We got snowed under, and it was of our own making. They had a 80 yd TD drive on penalties. That shook our defence.
  7. The players can yap all they want about just another game but I guarantee that guys like Stan and Yosh have had this circled on their calendar for a while now.
  8. For sure. I will bet on Winnipeg over BC in the playoffs no matter where they play. It's the smart bet. We are battle tested with a far superior QB and we know that our D always ratchets up to a new level in the playoffs.
  9. Don't get me wrong. I'm pretty stoked to see the additions this week. I, also, think that Hall and Buck will have masterful game plans ready with the extra week. Preparedness will not be an issue this week.
  10. No, that's not true. It would be tougher for sure and out of our control, but definitely not impossible. You are assuming that BC plays at a high level all year. I am not willing to bet that quite yet. Yes, we would need help or a small BC collapse in the 2nd half. BC still hasn't seen the meat of it's schedule yet so don't count either of those things out. They get it pretty rough in the 2nd half. A lot of divisional games.
  11. Yea...I hope we don't see too much rust but I expect them to be flying around.
  12. Seasons aren't won or lost or determined over the course of one game or two in the first half of the season. If we lose tonight the only thing we need to admit is that we have some work to do before the playoffs come. Lots, and I mean lots of things happen in a 2nd half of a CFL season. Declaring BC the Western champs at this point would be insane. A loss tonight just makes our road tougher, it doesn't make the road end. That's just nonsense. However, a loss tonight would provide a pretty good gauge of what we need to do.
  13. For sure. Physicality will be at a premium. I expect BC players to be taking a number of stupid penalties tonight. No one's punched them in the mouth this year yet. We will. I agree. Just pointing out that our roster, even though it could be slightly better, is a pretty darn good one. He may not be quite ready to go. Maybe he re-aggravated something?
  14. I agree. I think Sankey is the most over rated MLB in the past several years. Great tackler but has areas of great weakness that no one wants to talk about.
  15. Not insignificant adds...also Rose. The guys are going bat**** crazy over roster management again but this is the strongest lineup we've had all year.
  16. Yea....give him some work rotationally to earn his spot. He is a SY guy and very good at it. If he can spell off our DL starters for a few snaps a game it would be good rostering as he can be an emergency OL as well.
  17. I have no doubt that Wilson can cover, Sankey is very one dimensional though and Alexander will have to cover his weaknesses down the middle.
  18. True....but they weren't completely incompetent either. I'm not a Sankey fan but Biggie at WIL and Sankey at MIKE would be pretty scary. Alexander would have to find his game pretty quick though.
  19. I like our OL a heck of a lot more than their OL. They haven't faced both the Jeffs yet. Evans will be creamed...book it.
  20. Only one you need to capture is the queen. Rest of the bees will go with her. He is playing very well, and his DC is providing him with the looks to suit his style.
  21. His very named brother who was quoted in the paper today actually. Also CBC's "geneological" research is not research at all, it is completely and 100% without merit. Also, you say that his Metis group is unrecognized....well so is the MMF currently as they withdrew from the Metis National council. Are there red flags to his status, yes there are...just as there is for the thousands of Metis who lost their memberships following the Powell decision. Just because someone's heritage, particularly native heritage, was not something of daily life when he was raised is not even a factor in this. Just incredibly insensitive thing for media, or anyone, to use as proof of heritage. You don't act like a Metis, and weren't raised like a Metis, so you are not a Metis? After 200 years of trying to beat the indigenous out of all of us, white people need to be better than that. Just a grossly insensitive line of reasoning. Nothing worse than when white people come and question our heritage, when what they know about it could fit on the head of a pin.
  22. They also did a check with his other brother who confirmed it. I am not here defending Klein the politician. I don't know enough about him for that. However, there are hundreds of displaced MMF and other Metis group members that were displaced after the Powell decision narrowed the scope of their membership lists. Many are working hard to get their identities back despite inaccurate historical documents making it difficult. Klein could very well be among those people. I do not like hatchet jobs like this by people who know nothing about how rigged the system is against Indigenous and Metis status. This was nothing more than a trumped up media report basing itself on census status that did not recognize or even have the option for Metis or half breed status to claimed. A complete sham and a shameful piece of journalism.
  23. Chris Jones is not the sole reason there is an OPs cap. The Riders stupidity in giving him a blank cheque, and to spend willy nilly at his whim for guys like Murphy is why we have an ops cap. You can't blame Jones for that. The Riders should have known better. Of course a GM/HC is going to spend the resources you give him and if you want to pay him an outrageous salary to do it...he'll take it. I believe that last year Jones also mentioned that he had to run short on coaching staff for last year and this year due to the football ops cap. That hurts the product. As much as I don't like Jones or Edmonton, it hurts the CFL to have a team unable to properly prepare their players.
  24. Awesome, my buddy and I used to have a small hobby apiary (about 100 hives) until I developed a bee allergy and had to sell him my share. I sure enjoyed the work though. Those 3rd pulls could be backbreaking. My favorite part was extracting. Loading those frames and watching the liquid gold fill barrels was a highlight....along with the beer and laughs while we did it. He ramped up pretty significantly and now makes a nice living off of it.
  25. Nope...double digit sacks for sure are a great indicator of his ability. However, the book is out on him now. He made a lot of hay in 3 games because of a pretty excellent, and far different different than last year, usage of their DL. Caught teams off guard. They were confusing OLs with various looks, switches, stunts, pressure packages etc. The tape is out there now and their DL has come back to earth accordingly. A good week of film work and prep by our OL and we should see different results from last time. That's not to suggest that the Bombers will have it easy...they won't...BC is a very good defence. However, we are a very good offence when we want to be. Should be a hell of a game if everyone comes in sharp and ready to play. True, BC did throw a ton of different looks at us that we can now prepare for. However, last game we didn't match their physicality either. Something I am sure we will do this time.
