You bring guys in because they have talent, Up to them to kick the door in. The plan is to play a CDN there, but if you bring in an IMP to compete it is because there might be a sliver of a chance that he seizes the opportunity or maybe finds a different way to stick around.

He's no Lawler for sure, pretty much every CFL receiver save a couple are in the same boat. My point is that he is doing about as well as one should expect from a backup receiver given his limited playing time thus far and that IF he is not playing this weekend it is unlikely it is because the Bombers are unhappy with his play or that somebody else has passed him on the DC. Guy is doing what we are asking him to do. Could it be better? Sure he could be putting up 150 yds a game....is that a realistic ask...not really.

Are we really going to rag on Agudosi in his first handful of starts? Guy has made some big plays for us. If he is out this week, it likely isn't performance related. We gameplan differently for each team we face and maybe the coaches see something that makes them believe McCrae might be the better option this week. The guy is on a 700 yard pace as essentially a rookie playing our 5th receiver spot.

Has a bruised hip. Nothing that will keep him out of a game, but rest is always the best medicine for it.

We are a cap team. If we took an 8 million cap hit for a player that isn't even here it would be just about the dumbest thing ever by any GM of all time. Didn't happen and I am flabbergasted anyone would entertain the idea we would eat 8 million salary for one year. Chevy made a great trade. That is all that happened. There is absolutely zero chance we would give 8m in cap space away, we simply don't have it to give. Poor Calgary fan....in denial. Everyone wanted out before Kadri and Huberdeau. Has nothing to do with Kadri and Huberdeau and everything to do with Calgary being a small Canadian city on the decline in recent years.

Nothing retained according to Friedman. Jets had to be able to fit the 1st year under the cap when signing him, and that was immediately alleviated upon the trade. All salary paid by Kings. Nope. In order to entice PLD to not walk to UFA it was 8x8.5. The fact he had 1 year remaining is irrelevant. Had the Kings said give us that year and we will sign you to a 7 year extension next year, this trade does not get done as a sign and trade and the Jets value on the trade takes the hit and PLD walks to FA next year. Jets would never, ever do that. That would be beyond dumb.

So do 7 other QBs around the league. Not to mention that about 14 of their points came off of our errors on offence and STs. It was the perfect storm of a team not coming in hungry against a team that was very hungry. Don't care who you are, if you don't play hungry you don't win. I think things just snowballed after the 2 PI penalties. Didn't look like we were in the right head space after that.

All players want to play and be a starter, however, I would be particularly interested in where you heard him state ANYTHING about CFL opportunities since he left for the NFL. Where did he state this? I think you are mistaken. Strev to my knowledge has not ever at any time entertained a return to the CFL since he left, and would only do so once all his NFL options were exhausted. Then and only then would we know what his intentions, salary, and play time preferences are. Anyone saying they know what a guy like Strev would want is full of beans. He is not your average dude.

Maybe....but by 2025 it might be necessary for ZCs future to embrace a 2019 style 2 headed QB tandem. he will be up there in age.

The only playing time he had was on a SY sneak that he failed to execute. Pre-season doesn't mean a thing. Scrubs.,

I would say if there was any player who was likely to ignore the $ to come back here it would be Strevy.

He shouldn't be throwing except on the odd gadget play. The QB room could have been a huge consideration in this as well. We don't know what Prukop's value in there was. Perhaps, it was very high.

Brady was DEFINITELY the best option....heck even running is probably better he just needed to make one guy miss....and he was locked in on the deep route. Terrible decision...no doubt about it. He might be....he might not be. You are not concerned at all that a guy brought in to be our SY specialist was unable to do the job a month into the season? Look, I like Pigrome, and he may go onto greener pastures but at the end of the day he could not do the one single task we needed him to do this year.

The way I see it is that the Bombers have now seen Pigrome for about 6 weeks. They have a pretty good evaluation on him, and have seen his level of progression and his fit in the locker room. They decided to bring back Prukop. Kind of says it all. It is a trio that is the envy of every other CFL club, if they have half a noodle for a brain. No QB trio played better last year. None. If I could pick anyone's QB lineup to build a Grey Cup winning team it would be the Bombers. That's not me being a homer either....just straight up fact.

I've heard similar rumblings of this sort in Canada about governments trying to influence the courts to protect politically friendly billion dollar corporations. I hope your disdain is as strong in that case as it appears to be in this one.

Who says he bailed on us and who says his interception was unscripted? It was an awful decision, but it was obviously an option on the play call. He made a terrible read, and a terrible throw....but unscripted? I don't think so. Also, as bad as that interception was it was one of a dozen plays that cost us the Grey Cup.

We made a short term move here is all I was getting at. The Bombers obviously felt that the short term gain of Prukop outweighed the long term upside of Pigrome....OR they feel extremely confident they could have both....if in fact he does go to our PR. I just don't see the down side of bringing him back. The guy is an excellent short yardage QB. A lot of people are crapping on his excellent season last year because for some inexplicable reason our coaching staff had him taking 20 snaps in the Grey Cup at QB1 for us. That isn't a fair assessment of what he brings to the table.

The defence is still a work in progress, particularly the secondary, where injuries are hurting us badly. On offence, I just chalk it up to a bad week of preparation and film study more than anything.

Smart short term move. I really am intrigued by Pigrome as well, but at the end of the day if the Bombers feel his upside as an actual QB is lower than Brown's than really bringing back Prukop who runs our short game very well is a no brainer. A lot of people here are thinking Pigrome had the tools to progress to QB1 someday, obviously the Bombers do not share that evaluation.

I kinda thought this would happen, in fact, I predicted it a couple months ago. It's a shame about Pigrome but I guess there is still a chance he ends up on the PR.

Their stint up top will be two weeks long.

I've seen some incredible performances from Vernon Adams in the past few years, only to be followed by long stretches of mediocrity. 8 years in a tiger doesn't change his stripes. Hell in Montreal he lit us up really bad one game too. I am not a VAJ believer. History tells me not to be.

True...but I am yet to see that game happen in June. I've seen a lot of Grey Cup championship teams get clobbered early in the season when having a bad game. BC is temporarily the top dog. The cream will rise to the top.
