Maybe? Can you prove otherwise or are we just going to throw wild unfounded accusations around? He did.

I not only believe it, I know it for a fact. You guys would love to believe that there is some kind of conspiracy here....but there isn't.

For sure businesses skew to the right of the political spectrum. No doubt about it. Businesses abhor a left wing government. However, you were making the implication that the PCs were funneling money through them and that they were complicit in some scheme to pay Obby Khan. That's a big leap. The Manitoba Chamber BOD is a collection of chamber members from all across the province and they work to assist other businesses and to advocate for business interests. They are politically neutral and have no affiliation with any party in any way. If the bulk of their membership skews to the right....well that is independent of the board's mission statement and operating procedures. There have at many times in the past, been high ranking NDP on the BOD. It is preposterous to suggest that the PCs are their puppet masters. I have sat on various Chambers BODs, and at no time is party discussed or favored...simply policies. If the NDP came out tomorrow with the best path forward for business in Manitoba, the MCOF would endorse them.

Please show me the report. At the time it was a start up business in it's infancy and was working out some kinks but it didn't even have time to be struggling. Please don't forget the part where he actually received the grant on the independant recommendation of the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce who was tasked to select who would receive the funds. The Chamber of Commerce has no connection to the PCs any more than any other party. Are you suggesting that the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce is being secretly run by the PC party? SMH!!
-
They don't need to do that. There is a smoking gun that is just waiting for the election call to happen coming from some highly known native leaders. Me too. The man tweeting those is a high ranking NDP constituency board member in Brandon.

No where does his resume suggest he is a talent to hard to pass on, nor did Walters say that. His numbers are from the CJFL and he was unable to crack the starting lineup in CIS. His testing and his testing numbers were average at best at the combine and he had to go through the regionals to get invited to that. He is projected to be a late round pick, if he is picked at all.
-
I doubt we take him unless he is a bonafide CFLer. His resume does not indicate that. Making MOS end his son's football dreams would be a tough spot for our coach.
-
Wouldn't be fair to Mike if he had to cut his son....lol.

Questionable ...maybe insofar as how the fund was allocated....but it is over the top to suggest that this was money paid to Khan to gain his support. Khan did a great job, and a great public service with that money that helped many Manitoba businesses stay afloat. Secondly, the money was given at the behest of the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce who vetted the applications for the grant and were tasked with deciding who should receive the money. Of course, we aren't going to talk about that...doesn't fit the narrative. Also, there was nothing failing about his business? Not sure how you even came to that absurd conclusion.

No they did not. That is a complete lie. Wab is a well known hot-head in native circles, I can tell you that. Long before he was a provincial politician in native political circles he was known for his temper, and for being a hot head. Earned himself the nickname ****** Kinew amongst his own people. Challenged our chief to a fist fight for disagreeing with him. Just wait for it, but I can tell you there is some very powerful players in the native political scene working against him because of some recent stuff he, and Nahanni did. You are going to be hearing a lot more about Wab as the election nears and it won't be coming from the PCs.

Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season
GCn20 replied to Wideleft's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yep, lots of people just looking at Biggie's stat lines and suggesting he is over the hill without fully realizing what Biggie brings to the table. He is absolutely unique in his ability as a MLBer and why he has been the MDOP so many times. Teams have to game plan completely differently for the Bombers because of his ability to play and be anywhere on the field. He rushes well, he is a beast against the run, he is able to go into coverage effectively, he can go sideline to sideline to take away the flats. If you are in 2nd and long against us you are in big trouble as far as play options go. -
I could put up a mock draft, and I couldn't name 5 draft eligible players right now, that would be as good as Hodge or Ferguson. Wait for Dunk and Forde's takes on the draft and you will get more real info than from the other 100 out there. Just my opinion.
-
Ferguson has not been very good with his mock drafts, and Hodges are about the same as Maggie the Monkey's picks in football knowledge and accuracy...just a complete waste of time to read really. I am looking forward to Dunk's though, he does a great job and is usually pretty dialed in.

As a native I am keenly aware that ALL political parties in this country are racist and have been since confederation. Don't lecture me on that.

Yes, to be more clear I hate fiscal irresponsibility that inevitably leads to tax increases Don't mind the idea of taxing the rich if it means cutting the tax on families and working poor. Just doesn't seem to be the case right now.
-
I lean to the right of centre for sure. Hate identity politics, hate fiscal irresponsibility, hate tax increases, hate big government and federal over reach. Therefore, to me, the Liberals are not the lesser of two evils. Not a huge Poilievre supporter but I will plug my nose and vote for him if it is helps mercy kill this tired and corrupt Liberal government. Glad to see that many in Canada appears to be starting to feel the same way. When the ethics commissioner resigns in disgust its gotten out of hand.
-
Bill C-11, massive deficit spending, increases in taxation are just three off the top of my head. The Chretien/Martin Liberals at least tried to keep spending in check and C-11 is an all out assault on free speech. That's not feels...that's facts. As a centrist voter, I am being told that the government is not moving left, that centre has changed.....what a crock of BS that is. You may not like my opinion on how our government is operating but I will stay in the majority of Canadians who agree with me. Trudeau can't get turfed soon enough for me. It will be a great day for Canada.

It's year one. I would imagine that if they see the spawn being disrupted that they will put general closures in certain areas beginning next year. COs will be out hot and heavy in the South basin, bet on that. If someone wants to poach they will find it very difficult in that area. I honestly love it. Gives me a chance to go fish around, get my rods ready and try a few spots before opening day. Up here, the ice is only out a few days before the opener anyway....lol. I really don't see the harm in catch and release of other fish that aren't open yet, and ice out pike make a delicious meal.

Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

The Bombers will be much older than the Stamps this year after all their good players fled via Free agency, and their recruitment is down to Dave Dickenson handing out candy to players at Junior High Friday night light games in West Texas. I mean really....has any team had a worse offseason than the Stamps? They seriously crapped the bed. Their roster, which wasn't good enough last year, has been seriously downgraded and DD doesn't seem to have a hot clue how to negotiate an extension. Orimalade, Thurman, Lemon....that's 3 all stars gone from their team, not just all stars but 3 guys who were all legit CFL DMOP calibre last year. Would be like us losing Jefferson, Jeffcoat, and Biggie in one offseason. -
That's true. Especially as the Liberals and NDP move away from moderate policies themselves. There is a huge void in the middle, where most of the votes are, that no one seems to want to take. It's weird.

2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)

Poor Kelly, so young so naive. -
That's true.

While we are at it let's do that for alcohol as well, and obese people too...and those that eat red meat, and don't even get me started on smokers. Whoooo.....by force I tell ya.
-
All those words are pretty easy too me...lol. Not sure why people are so upset. They will anglicize all these names with a shortening/nickname anyway. And yes, Winnipeg is a cree word, so it seems only fitting that we have a few indigenous names of streets as well.

Nah..Mansbridge was near tears when Tories won one election. I am just misremembering which one. Would have thought 2011, but I guess not. I don't need confirmation bias to slam "the side I don't like" they do it all by themselves. The CBC should be defunded. Tara Henley, a left wing journalist and producer, even quit the CBC because she thought it had lost all objectivity. Bias confirmation? Several polls done indicate the majority of Canadians believe that the CBC has a left wing bias. Defending the CBC on matters of bias is like the right defending Sun Media. It's laughable.
