  1. 2 years? Dream on. One year at the most. NDP will terminate this agreement as their polling clearly suggests they should. And they were rightfully voted out. No argument from me about that. I can admit that Harper's time was up. Unlike you guys that don't share the same awareness of when a government and leader have clearly exceeded their expiry date. I wonder what the ethics commissioner had to say about Trudeau's Liberal government? Hmm...one former governments record on display while the current government gets a free pass despite much more serious ethics violations. Weird how this thread works.
  2. It doesn't matter to you I guess. I am happy with the conclusions I have drawn as being the most overwhelmingly likely scenario with any other interpretation being a fractional % chance of accuracy. I will reserve my todaso for when we probably get the whole story from the horse's mouth in the near future, and it ends up being exactly as I described.
  3. Well, I would expect you to take that tack after floating out the disciplinary theory.
  4. Yes it sure is, but not for the reasons you are thinking that's for sure. It is an absolute farce that Trudeau picked a family friend and board member of the Trudeau foundation to head this up. It is a farce that Trudeau dictated what he could and couldn't investigate. It is a farce that he will not call a public inquiry on this that would be an independant legal proceeding, that is binding, and would determine it's own scope to investigate these matters. If you don't see that this reeks, then you are just being blindly biased. The country overwhelmingly wants an independant inquiry. Trudeau will continue to plummet in the polls unless he reverses course. He is paving the way for Prime Minister Poilievre.
  5. I will take it any day, and twice on Sunday, if it means getting rid of what I consider the most corrupt and inept prime minister in the history of Canada. My respect for truth and democracy? What a laugh. NO PRIME MINISTER has ever shown less concern for truth and democracy than Justin Trudeau and it is why any alternative is better for Canada right now. Worst that can happen is Poilievre wins a minority that handcuffs his ability to really do anything too over the top because he has no natural allies in parliament. At the same time the Liberals will dump Trudeau, and his scandal plagued, dishonest cohorts and bring in a new leader that will hopefully know enough not to act with the same hubris. They will then partner with the NDP to take down Poilievre and probably get re-elected again. I will trade a couple years of a neutered Poilievre to get rid of Trudeau any day of the week and twice on Sunday. That is how much I revere truth and democracy because Trudeau has run roughshod over both of these ideals.
  6. Sorry but if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I am going to use a little bit of reasonable deduction and assume it's a duck. I am not like you and will not ask it to prove it's not a moose because there is a 1% chance it's a moose in disguise. I can't prove i am right, but I would wager big money on it and I think most people on this forum will think the conclusion i have come to, based on everything we know on this, is more than reasonable. So...a big whatever to you...I guess.
  7. No kidding. Jagmeet sent them a life line, that would also get him out of a bit of an optics jam himself, and they just swam away from it. Nonsensical really. This is going to be the death of their government and they seem oblivious to it.
  8. How does this demonstrate any involvement by the CPC in the manufacturing of this scandal? That is completely false narrative, and is unfounded. One could easily define that as a conspiracy theory. In several quotes the CPC outlined the question they were asking and why. Any suggestion of another motive is pure speculation. You guys can't throw stones about made up facts, and then make them up yourselves to fit your narrative. Seems you are caught up in the conspiracy theory being floated here that this was what PP was referencing. Unfortunate, that you have fallen victim to this disinformation campaign. Yet they will be forming government soon.
  9. Tinfoil hattery is implying that was what Poilievre was referring to. FACT: JT left his job abruptly and without notice in the middle of the final term FACT: In 7 different articles by journalists he is quoted giving 7 different responses as to why. CONSPIRACY THEORY: That he left mid term because of sex scandal CONSPIRACY THEORY: The the CPC planted this rumor CONSPIRACY THEORY: That PP was referencing the sex scandal in his remarks in parliament. PP was referencing the mysterious circumstances, and varying answers by Trudeau himself, as to why his teaching career suddenly crashed and burned. Only a conspiracy nut would think PP was referencing any more than that as it most certainly is NOT what he said, nor is there any proof that is what he was implying. Conspiracy theories work both ways. It is embarrassing that some far right media seems to have concocted a wild theory, but if you don't want wild speculation out there maybe just tell the truth and quit hiding it. Trudeau, it seems is not very good at that and it was a skill acquired pre-politics.
  10. There most certainly is public record that Trudeau left the private academy abruptly mid term, and public record that in 7 different interviews he gave 7 different answers as to why. It is not conspiratorial at all to raise any questions about why that is. It seems Trudeau has a deep seeded aversion to transparency that stems from even before he was in politics. I wonder if Gerald Butts was already working for him then?
  11. Nothing out to lunch about it, and it is something the Bombers have done many times in the past by their own admission. Your Bighill comparison is not valid because the team will reach out to the player and see if they agree to be added to the suspended list. MOS spoke at length about this on the coaches show during TC last year. When suspended the player does not receive his TC per diem, but is free to go home until whatever date they agree upon. Bighill may very well have been approached and said no I wanna stay in camp.
  12. Conspiratorial? There are public records to show that this reference is not a conspiracy.
  13. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/commentary/article-lng-canada-trudeau-germany-japan/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/commentary/article-lng-canada-trudeau-germany-japan/ Not quite as cut and dried as you would make it seem.
  14. Every newspaper across Canada and a quick google search ought to bring you there. I'm not going to track you down something that every media outlet in the country reported on just because it appears you missed it.
  15. Hmmm....in the past few months we have turned down massive trade deals with both Germany and Japan on natural gas worth hundreds of billions of dollars. I suppose that probably doesn't fly too well in Alberta with those hoping for a big boost to the patch. Bill C-41 and C-69 were bills that went over like a lead balloon in Alberta as well. The carbon tax is pretty much viewed as one created to hurt big oil production as well. I believe Trudeau was a big factor in Notley's loss. She completely underestimated how reviled the Liberals are in Alberta and could have easily won her election if she simply promised to continue the fight against the Feds on various policies such as carbon tax, and measures and bills created to slow down oil production.
  16. He practiced the first day. He would not have been allowed to do so unless he passed his physical. Nice try but as usual you are out to lunch.
  17. A lot of moderates and centrist voters plugged their nose and voted for Smith. It is absolute nonsense to suggest that 50% of Albertans are extremist, racist, and bigoted. Just garbage to say that really. I know that many here are disappointed in the NDP loss, but this kind of conjecture about any modern mainstream party's voters is out to lunch. It's bizarre really. A lot of voters vote based on one or two key areas of concern to them. That's just the facts. They probably aren't in love with Smith or the band of looney tunes that inhabit PARTS of her party but when looking at voting issues they saw no alternative because Notley just did not represent what they wanted/needed from government. Some of you guys may not like to hear this, but their are many Canadians that value the economy over ecology. Their are many Canadians that value lower taxes over government spending. Their are many Alberta voters who did not trust Notley to stand up to Trudeau and get the oil patch up again. That does not make any of them extreme, bigoted, or racist. That's just plain nonsense.
  18. My buying group has voted to take the upgrade and pay extra. I am in a group with a few other businesses that use the tickets for promotional purposes so we write them off anyway. I can see that as being an attractive option for season tix holders who use them for business purposes. Probably who they are trying to attract with this offering. Taking clients or using tix for promotional/employee rewards and upping the ante on the experience is worth a few hundred bucks.
  19. It could be literally anything, family related...maybe he was getting auditted by the IRS....who knows. All we know is the club felt it was a good enough reason, or may even have requested themselves for roster purposes and JG agreed.
  20. Suspensions happen all the time for non-disciplinary reasons. We've had numerous players over the past few years be added to the suspended list for the purposes of attending the birth of their child for instance. A suspension just means the team doesn't have to pay you for the time missed, and opens up a roster spot to replace you while not having to hide you on the IR and pay you.
  21. This works on both sides of the spectrum. Just in the last few pages of the thread with Alberta election discussion I have seen a few comments suggesting that anyone who supported the UCP in Alberta is some far right loony. That characterization is about as accurate as the one Noeller is mocking. The UCP won with a great deal of support from the centre and moderate right. It is ridiculous to point all supporters of a governing party able to win an election as extreme. Just nonsense.
  22. He reported to camp passed his physical received his roster bonus for doing so as stipulated in most player's contracts and then was likely given the option to stay, or go home until week 2 so they could open up a very valuable roster spot. If he stays he gets the TC per diem which is peanuts, or he goes home and does not get it but has an extra week with his family. There really isn't much more to it than that. He is not competing for a job, his is as safe as it gets.
  23. Sure. My definition of the far left is anything to the left of social democracy. The radical or extreme parts of the far left I would define as any extremist, militant, or insurgent groups or individuals that attempt to realize the ideals of the left through political violence as opposed to using the democratic process. I agree with your definition. I don't even mind protests so much as long as they are peaceful. I see nothing wrong with oil pipeline protests, or abortion rights rallies etc. When these become violent, or criminal, then they cross the threshold for me. I don't believe calling Trump for what he is to be radical, or far left, just as I don't believe calling out Trudeau for being crap is a function of the far right. Nice hyperbole.
  24. No he cannot, and yes he could be prosecuted for doing so if he were to break the law. JCon is just making stuff up. Parliamentry privilege does NOT protect an MP from these kind of criminal acts. Matters of national security that are classified MAY NOT be discussed openly in parliament, and become a criminal act as enacted in 1965 revisions to Parliamentry Privilege house rules.
  25. Parliamentry privilege does not extend to criminal matters of national security as revised in 1965. Parliamentry censure is applicable and enforceable by prosecution. If PP, or any other MP, were to openly discuss classified information in parliament they are NOT exempt from prosecution for doing so. You are calling him a liar and you don't even know what you are talking about. SMH. The exact same argument could be made about Trudeau.
