  1. Goodson looks to be a Casey Sayles type of NT. Not the biggest dude but very agile for a 300 lber. Will be nice to see what he can do.
  2. No argument from me on that. Just pointing out that governments have shelf life. Yea. his own caucus saw him as weak and that is not a good thing for a political leader.
  3. Harris plays great against the East. Not so much against the West. That is time proven. I don't doubt that an Argo fan would think he is the bees knees...you are one of the only teams he regularly and historically shreds.
  4. What stats did I use? None. YOU sound like Terry. Stats are numbers, I didn't use any just observations on how he played and when he played that way. By even the loosest definition that is not a stat. Get it right if you're going to be a jerk off. Not sure why you are laughing when you are so obviously wrong? I was giving context as to why one should look beyond the stats. He threw 6 interceptions that year against 16 TDs. Looks great if you look solely at the stat. The context tells a different story as 4 of those interceptions led to the oppositions game winning points. Hence, my argument that his stats are a red herring. You should learn to tell the difference between a stat and someone giving context to a stat before you start running your mouth about lanes and comparisons to Terry.
  5. Ok fair enough...but yeah...just a prime example of how good governments rarely stay good governments over time. They ALL become **** shows at some point or another. It is unfathomably biased to suggest otherwise. I don't care what party stripe you wear, you cannot possibly defend almost any 3-4th term government. They simply become too comfortable and brazen.
  6. Harris's stats were just a great big red herring in 2019, just as they were last year. His team was losing more than they won and he had a bad penchant for throwing the game losing interception, or failing to come up with points when the team needed them most. He racked up a ton of garbage time stats in 2019.
  7. Not me. Our 3rd term NDP government was an absolute **** show on level with what we have now. I want this government gone, and I wanted that government gone just as badly. Anyone who says that Selinger's last few years were anything better is just being bloody biased. Both reeked to high heaven of ass.
  8. Should have deleted them for sure, but in fairness to Ballsy these tweets are 3 years old and he is right. In 2019, Harris was easily the most over rated QB in the CFL. In 2023, I don't think many people regard him as a top calibre QB anymore. In 2019 people were talking him up as the MOP even though his red zone % and win % were awful.
  9. I was just going through Trevor Harris's game logs from last year. Scary bad against the Western teams except the Riders. The guy averaged less than 200 yards per game and threw less than a TD per game with a very pedestrian QB rating of 89.4. He feasted and got his passing stats off of mainly Ottawa and Hamilton. Now that he gets far more games against the West his numbers are going to tumble. Especially since he doesn't have nearly as good an OL or receiving corps this year. I know that a lot of Rider fans are excited about getting him but really his numbers don't show him being any better than Fajardo was last year against the West and Fajardo at least had somewhat of an excuse.
  10. Separation is not in their best interests. Not sure why they think it is? They have been living off transfer payments for a long, long time. If they had to fund their own province it would be mayhem. All the things they crow about that makes them a unique culture (free education etc) would be unaffordable. They aren't separating any time soon, they know it, and it's high time our government starts disregarding this empty threat.
  11. Not sure why they would think that. but if they do they are out to lunch. They are no different than Winnipeg, Ottawa, or Edmonton as a city really, and are not even remotely comparable to Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver. Fair enough, I haven't been to Calgary in the past decade or so.
  12. Calgary is a great city that needs new facilities and seems deadset against it for some reason. Unfortunate.
  13. I didn't miss anything. Just don't see the relevance at all. We were not in need of LBers prospects last year and it would be crazy to suggest we need starting LBers this year. Wilson/Biggie/Darby are a very good group. Walter's will bring in MACK and WIL competition this year and they will be more than ready to go when needed. Has there ever been a more impactful coach that can lay claim to legendary status in both the CFL and NFL? I can't think of any but if there is what an achievement.
  14. Soooo....profits are at an all time high but margins remain the same because of external inflation. By this logic, despite disposable income plummeting sales are way up. Congratulations grocers you guys have figured out something free enterprise has been unable to do since it's creation. Something does not add up.... Next please bring in big oil to explain to us how they come up with their pricing please and thank you.
  15. Couldn't agree with you more. WTF does Metroid have to do with the Bombers? It does appear the Elk is suffering from vampirism, how the heck can the Lions not be a mountain lion? The Riders uniform is way too clean and not enough hillbilly, the other ones are fairly cool though.
  16. I would imagine that when it comes to the global draft we will just go BPA because it is usually a pretty thin crop. If one of these guys are available when we pick tho...
  17. Might have been me you lost too. Don't know...can't remember many final scores. I like to think I won most of my games though. Just can't verify that through the use of memories.
  18. Does it even matter what is in the budget. It's over for the PCs in Manitoba in October. That ship has sailed. In four years they can focus on regaining a majority but this budget won't help them then. New leader, new candidates, new vision they can sell against Kinew's crew is the only path forward for them now. I, for one, welcome the change. I think political parties have a two term shelf life and should be shown the door. Very rarely does any government do anything very well in their 3rd consecutive term and beyond. Not sure why that is exactly, perhaps they just get tired out or get too brave and start implementing too far away from centre...not sure...but it is usually a **** show.
  19. It really is bizarro world over there when it comes to politics. I am not sure if it has always been this bad, but social media has brought it to light but OMG they need to scrub every single party over there and make them rebuild without any of the current candidates and power brokers allowed access again. I can honestly see Trump becoming president again that's how F'ed up they are.
  20. For sure. We are running it back with some older vets in key positions. They are still high level playmakers. That doesn't mean that Walters is disregarding father time though. I expect recruitment for OT, MLB etc is something our scouts are keying on this year so that when these guys eventually show their age we are ready. It is absolute nonsense to suggest that time is now though. Bighill, Big Stan, Yoshi etc are all very, very good players still that have not shown they need urgent replacement....but yes they will be among the first players in our core to be replaced when it is time and that is I am 100% sure where Walters will begin putting the onus on our excellent recruiting staff to prioritize.
  21. I only regaled the shots that happened before the 7th end, by then the brandy would take hold and the last 3 ends were all a blur.
  22. So because we have Bighill and Wilson back it is your belief that Walters will not look for LBers for depth and secession planning? I disagree and believe your logic is flawed on this. Last year Walters had Biggie and Wilson coming off all star level seasons, there was no urgency. This year is quite different and I expect to see more MLB/WIL Lbers in camp and on the PR this year. Who we are starting is irrelevant to that discussion. Biggie and Wilson when healthy are one of the best MACK/WIL duos in the CFL. They are aging and I expect recruitment for their future replacements has picked up steam. Just because no one emerged out of camp last year is 100% irrelevant to this year.
  23. I believe the CFL is expecting a pretty big bump to the SMS when the US TV contract is finally officially signed. Even now, around the league, we are seeing some contracts that are head scratchers but would make sense if the GMs happen to know a little more than we do. I will not worry about Schoen until it is time to do so. I would never have imagined we could create the cap space to bring back Lawler this year...but somehow Walters made it happen.
  24. Quite the difference you are referencing. Lirim has been to the brier, using your analogy, albeit only as a spare. He has played at the highest level and although he wasn't quite good enough to stick so far, he is in most GM's rolodex as a guy they can call in a pinch. From there you never know. He can come to the CFL and make 150k CAD or he can go to the XFL and make 81k CAD for half the games played, and keep kicking by NFL rules on an NFL field. Also, there is absolutely nothing stopping a kicker from playing both leagues if they want...it isn't like they will get worn out.
  25. Last year is last year, this year is this year, Needs are different every year. One cannot extrapolate that we will not be bringing in LBers to compete because last year we were thin on them.
