  1. Especially in their own city.
  2. I would. Time to start using our 3rd string as a developmental QB imo. Not sure about that. With the USFL and XFL both playing this year if we want a decent prospect we might have to pay low 6 figures.
  3. Ambrosie isn't blameless, but it is not his fault that DesLauriers wanted to buy the team on lay-away, or that solid ownership didn't come forward.
  4. Fitting that someone from Toronto would volunteer to do it.
  5. If the coaches can help him get rid of his alligator arm receiving he definitely has the rest of the tools. Maybe he has eye problems like Bowman did and that's why he drops every 2nd ball that comes his way?
  6. Thing is that all sacks and pressures could be a result of another player being disruptive. Sacks are quantitive, and pressures are interpretive. Orimolade was a disruptor. That is the eyeball test for me. He was not particularly great at OG either.
  7. I agree. His sack totals last year are not subjective, but they can very easily be a red herring as well. Last year we were not playing WIllie for sacks, we were using him to confuse defences.
  8. The amount of football he has played is irrelevant. He is not the future of the franchise. Stop gap at best.
  9. I do agree that Clark needed to go. Godber is a mid tier replacement but at least he is a lot younger.
  10. Fair enough. Godber from Clark is a lateral move, and Blake is ancient. Orimolade is a very good DE. No doubt about it but QB pressures is absolutely a subjective stat. Completely arbitrary. Godber is signed as a C. Johnson is still your pylon at RG.
  11. Yea I have a real problem with that stat as well. However Orimolade is a gooder.
  12. We are head and shoulder above every other team right now. The team that represented the biggest threat to us is getting their roster absolutely gutted. Any given Sunday we could lose to anyone, but I would bet a million dollars that there is no team in this league that can win the season series against us right now barring some incredibly bad luck on the injury front. Anyone who knows my history as a poster knows that if anything I tend to worry too much....but I really like our team right now. The age thing is overstated. I don't worry one bit about players aging out except in skill positions. The trenches are usually do not see a drastic decline in play as players age. You see their bodies break down. We have a young receiving corps, and young backfield. We have some aging at MLB, and two spots in the secondary. This would be my only concern with aging for this year.
  13. Godber and Blake are a couple of journeyman linemen. Absolutely no shot being all stars, but an upgrade...although Godber at C upgrade is only that he is younger than P.Clark ...P is for pylon.
  14. I wouldn't even say secondary either. I mean last year the Riders had a better LBer crew than us too and have added in FA, are we behind them now too?
  15. Baloney. Hitting the bong a little too hard today Mike? You and the other 5 Argo fans should be ashamed at how disgraceful your team is managed business wise instead of flapping your gums about how great your welfare team is. Faj was never Jones QB. Came the year after.
  16. This is ridiculous. Just shut it. There are at least 3 Western teams that are far better than your lucky, but sad sack franchise.
  17. Get a grip Bluto. You guys were flukey AF to win that game, and there is NO western team that gives a crap which of it's weak sisters in the East comes to play. That doesn't mean that an Eastern team can't win, it means that really any HEAVY underdog can sometimes beat a team that is much, much, better than them on any given Sunday. I am about as scared of Toronto as I am of Ottawa. Take comfort in your Grey Cup win, but don't come on here all cocky. If that game is played 100x we win 95 of them. Also, take comfort in the fact that the CFL artificially props up the crap teams in the East with an antiquated, bizarre, and quite frankly wholly unfair playoff structure. If not for that there likely isn't an Eastern team in very many Grey Cups. So know your role, and where you are at before flapping your gums.
  18. Yes it surely is. Walters has taken a few swings and misses as well but he has been spot on whenever he drafts as OL.
  19. In fairness, JOD and his mentor Chris Jones did draft OL. They just suck at it. St. John was a first overall...lmao. That same draft, 9 picks later, we drafted a young man in the 2nd round by the name of Michael Couture. Just as a frame of reference. Jones biggest weak spot is that he tries to get too cute, or takes big flyers on guys. O'Day mentored directly off of him, and shows similar weaknesses only he doesn't have the knack for hitting the odd home run like Jones does.
  20. But can anything you can do he can do better? That's the real question.
  21. Sure. Not that it means much. However, Hamilton isn't chopped liver either.
  22. He might be, we might lose him before we know for sure though. However, it seems that Richmond is willing to bide his time.
  23. Absolutely they are. If given my druthers and Stan retired this year, I would have been trying to get Figueroa but I would also have been checking out every OT on every team that is available along with recruiting South like mad. My point is that it is unlikely a team will have an in house and ready to go replacement for an OT. You have to be willing to grow with that OT as he learns, or you have to go to FA. We have Drew Richmond who we were lucky enough to have ripened on the vine a bit, but only because other teams in need didn't see him as ready yet.
  24. Yes and no. For your NAT OG/C component definitely, however, it is next to impossible to keep IMP OTs that are starting calibre ripening on the vine. It is very difficult to roster them, so most end their first year on the PR. At that point they are FA's and will move to starting opportunities. Like it or not, when you are replacing an IMP OT it is done with this year's recruits, last year's if you are lucky, or through FA. NAT OGs and C can be ripened on the vine a bit.
