  1. Ok...but does any of that indicate that Ford wanted the Emergency Measures Act? Sounds to me like he was bogged down in bureaucracy and jurisdiction more than he demonstrated incompetence.
  2. Cut the cord years ago and stream all the games. I pay my 20 bucks a month during CFL season to TSN and then switch my membership to Crave for the remainder of the year. Used to keep TSN year round but discovered NHL66 and TSN became of no use to me for anything but CFL. Not that I am aware of, but Saturday isn't great either. You are then competing with hockey in the home market and UFC in the sports bar/restaurant venue.
  3. As a former sports bar owner I can tell you emphatically that sports bars don't make much off of the CFL regardless. Sad but true. Hockey, UFC ppv, and NFL drive the sports bar business....in Manitoba anyway. Partners such as Labatt, Molson etc don't have any CFL driven giveaways or help with the CFL to draw people in to the sports bars for CFL viewing and frankly there is a reason for that. Sports bars will carry CFL games on secondary screens for those interested, but whether the game is a Saturday or Sunday it is not a sports bar engine...with the exception of local team big games, playoffs, and Grey Cup...really 3-4 CFL games a year.
  4. No Riders in the WSF this year is the big difference in ratings.
  5. Kind of a best case scenario last night. Trump's dream of running again all but dashed, DeSantis will almost certainly get the nod, The House going to the GOP and the Senate likely to remain with the DEMS make this a win for America imo.
  6. Yea...there is no denying our O was crappy in the game. It was crappy all of that year. Our strength that season was Swaggerville, they were the reason we got there and they were the only way we were going to win that game. Blaming it on the O is just an opportunity to take a shot at Lapo in this instance. We had a team built primarily on defence and the defence let us down that game by being average.
  7. Swaggerville allowed 34 points in that game. It wasn't their best performance. I am not defending our offence either, but we surrendered less than 20 points avg. all season long and then let BC take it to us for a big early lead and that changes the dynamic of any game considerably.
  8. Swaggerville was fun while it lasted. Too bad they crapped the bed in the Grey Cup, but c'est la vie.
  9. This is the match up I was hoping for. A mediocre BC Lions beat a Stamps team that decided to not go with their strengths. Sorry but this was more a Calgary loss than a BC win. They just really had a bad gamelan on offense. 14 points will never win you a playoff game where weather was not a factor.
  10. The gappers might choose to cheer for a winner and pull for us, unfortunately they probably don't know what a winner looks like.
  11. Allow me to join you and make it 2%. Have you not seen the politics forums on here?
  12. I agree. Not a single one of my children, nephews, nieces or their friends in that key demographic listen to Country. I am sure there are a few out there who do but it is definitely in small minority territory. How do I know this? 2019 and 2021 I had big Grey Cup parties and most of the 18-30 crowd arrived after half time to eat mostly..lol. Last year at Super Bowl those same people were texting me weeks before to see if I was hosting the Dr. Dre halftime show...didn't even call it Super bowl..lol.
  13. My wife is a country music Twisted Tea junkie...she has never heard of 2/3 of these guys. Her reaction to me telling her was "Who? Well that sound boring" I HATE country music so I felt compelled to ask someone else before determining how lame this is.
  14. Well a couple of them have sold records. However when in inbreeder country it only makes sense to book the inbreeding band you can find.
  15. What do you do with the million gappers that would have to move elsewhere? Not really fair that every other province's IQ average would have to plummet during this purge.
  16. You are right...it is their fault...just not directly but fault is fault. If they wanna host these things get some people.
  17. Any game in late November is going to be a last week sell out. People wanna know the weather.
  18. Vancouver is indeed a pretty pricy Grey Cup. but the services and events were top notch and the experience enjoyable. Not cheap though at all. WIth Vancouver you know that it will be expensive and you expect it. Regina was just as expensive and the experience was a complete calamity. It's hard to enjoy things when you have to leave early to get a cab, or be prepared to spend 2 hours waiting for one and to eat....just go for breakfast and then start lining up for lunch, then from there line up for supper. It's not Regina's fault per se, it's just too small. '
  19. I agree. Only problem is that they announced that the media and HCs had votes so tough to backtrack after that. Could have said that the fan votes were weighted more heavily than they were supposed to be....our bad.
  20. For sure. I suspect that the first list was simply the fan votes and they forgot to add the media and HC votes.
  21. It's not just hotel and game tickets that are the problem with the GC experience in Regina. The city is too small, and lacks the infrastructure for such an event. Waiting in line for an hour to get into a decent restaurant, getting a cab....forget about it, getting gouged basically every place you go...guaranteed. Regina doesn't get many major events and when it does it sure puts it's collective hands out to pillage every poor tourist that travels there. I went in 2013 and swore I would never do it again. Just a miserable experience from start to finish. This is back when I used to attend every Grey Cup, now I don't do it anymore, and Regina was the catalyst for that change and it's too bad because I have attended a few LDCs and it is not the same at all.
  22. There is very little doubt about that.
  23. That can't be right. I was told over there that they are the most loyal, educated, and diehard fan base in the league that every other CFL franchise envies because no matter what they sell out every game. That is what makes them Canada's flagship sports team apparently. Wow....I am shocked by this. lmao So no punishment at all then? They do that anyway just takes till mid 1st Q.
  24. He wouldn't have hit the field either way. Mulumba was a starter for most of his career there. Not just rostered but actually playing a lot, He wasn't a PR guy, but I think the OP was speaking in general terms not specifically about Mulumba.
