GDT - Banjo Bowl - Riders @ the Back-To-Back Champs
GCn20 replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The Saskatchewan excuse train keeps on rolling and I love it. Nothing spells doom for a football team faster than having no accountability for a poor performance week after week. Best part of it is that their QB is the conductor of the train. That will ensure it will keep on chugging along. -
My goodness, with Rourke down there really is no reason to lose a game again this year. Chris Jones is doing the best he can with a bad lot he inherited. I would think this offseason he will look to make an imprint on the roster.

Injury Report, Lineup Changes, Roster Moves

Sadly, he is probably aged out now with an achilles injury. -
To me the most important thing about that 55 yard game winner was that he was able to overcome the yips he had in Montreal. Very important that a kicker can shake off a bad night. Last year he got mired in his early struggles and couldn't get out of his own head after. This year he is showing the mental fortitude necessary for being a pro kicker.

No doubt. People being salty balls because we are not blowing everybody out need to take a look at our man games lost this season. 11-1 with the injuries we've had is an amazing achievement no matter how close some of the games were. Many other teams with a fraction of the man games to the talent we've absorbed would be riding extensive losing streaks right now. Our depth is top notch. -
Yes, the PM of Britain has stated he will be King Charles III.

She was an excellent monarch, that was extremely adept at moving with the times and with grace and dignity. Her political influence helped lead to the end of apartheid in South Africa. Her influence on feminism cannot be overstated. These just two of many reasons to mourn her loss. RIP. God save the Queen.

The irony is that it was the RIders he walked away from because they were trying to cut into his snowboarding time by having the coordinators report early.

I agree, and if you must move him in game or something due to injury it has to be to SAM and definitely not WIL Lber. We are a much better team when Couture, BA, Wilson, and Ellingson return. That is 4 all star caliber starters, how could we not. Some teams don't even have that many all star caliber players on their entire roster, we've been playing most of the year without 4 of ours. It's easy to lose track of that because of the talent we have without them, but on a lesser team losing 4 guys like that would put them in a precarious situation. Some teams are looking at us as vulnerable this season without even taking into account we have not been healthy at any point this year. If we can get almost all our starters back in down the stretch people are going to be in for quite a rude awakening. -

I don't think BA has the physical strength to play WIL on running downs. You gotta be able to get off your blocks and take on some big backs at that position. Not saying he couldn't do it effectively, but not the best fit for him when he can be our all star elsewhere. Rutledge reminds me a lot of Moncrief in his rookie season. -
Remind me more of Ralph Furley. Striking resemblance both physically and in mannerisms. I mean this is what came up when I googled Craig Dickenson angry gif.
-
You might be right. However, I think the RIders will try offload him.
-
Not saying it would be easy, but right now Hamilton has to be pretty desperate, and there is always Chris Jones.
-
I would imagine they are likely trying to trade him. Or should be.
-
I agree with what you are saying. I think, unless we see a massive wave over running the health care system, that mass restrictions and masking are at an end. If everyone was masking, I would too, but if no one is masking I don't see the point. I will stay home and limit my activities when sick and continue the religious hand washing when out in public and carry my hand sanitizer but I don't see the point in masking anymore.

not everyone is willing to toil for a PR allowance

Really lame excuse. Even if you want to turn your attention away from football fòr a while how does deleting your history hèlp in any way. smh
-
It is fantastic to see him recover his confidence so well after the Montreal game. His emotional maturity will be what decides his career longevity and this was a very positive first step for him in establishing that he can be clutch even after a poor performance.
-
I completely agree with you on McKnight, However, when you need someone you gotta go with what's available at the time. Perhaps, they had 20 guys ahead of him on a list but no one that can be here by Friday is all I'm saying.
-
This is his employer telling him that his take was a really bad one that is embarrassing them and he should get it off his social media ASAP. I wish I could just erase every stupid opinion I ever shared and then blame it on Ukraine. Easier than saying I was dead wrong. Unfortunately, my audience is not as gullible as a Saskatchewan mouth breather.
-
Who says they aren't looking? He could be gone off the PR by Friday for all we know.

One thing that really separates our team from the Riders is that they have an "excuse" culture that permeates through their dressing room Their locker room leaders whether it is Cody Faj, Shaq Evans, Nick Marshall are constantly in the media blaming other players, or the reffing, or the weather for not winning. When your main locker room leaders are making excuses and throwing other players under the bus you have a very poor dressing room culture. They need to get rid of that ASAP and start encouraging player to start taking ownership of what they have or haven't been able to do. I mean seriously Shaq publically threw Duke under the bus, then blamed officiating for his penalty in the span of 30 seconds, Fajardo on a weekly basis has thrown one of his offensive groups under the bus for his poor play and when he couldn't blame them he blamed the weather. That kind of leadership sinks teams. It just does....but hey the excuse train is easier to ride than actually fixing your shortcomings I suppose. The problem is that when you have a culture of excuses, when one conveniently pops up like the Marino side show player jump on board and use it as a prebuilt reason not to do the work. Our team owns it. Good, bad, or otherwise and then goes out makes a commitment to improve on it and never make the same mistake again. That comes from a solid dressing room where players refuse to make excuses for themselves, and are answerable to each other. That kind of team wins the vast majority of the time. This is the type of player we make sure we are recruiting, and we FIFO everyone else.
-
Yes teams can expand their PRs at some point in the season still. Not sure when that happens though. Knee is shot.
-
We don't have time to make knee jerk excuses, our management and coaches deal with it very swiftly and very decisively.
-
I would think that the majority of level headed Rider fans would see this as a good thing for the team, and the league. It's just the absolute wingnuts like Migs (Section139) who see this as a league conspiracy that explains away their losses this season. Losing 2/3 of our LBer crew and 2 safeties does not help the run stop at all either. We've been moving Biggie out of the run stop to help in coverage and dropping him deeper down the middle than he should be to help cover the middle of the field against the pass. Having BA back will be huge, as will getting Kyrie,. When Biggie can focus more on the run on 1st down because our lineup is TCB behind him a lot of run plays are going to dry up for the opposition.
