It is and it isn't. It is ignorant to suggest that government can't help offset inflation. Throwing your hands up in the air. keeping low interest rates, while increasing taxes, and doing nothing about a hyper inflated real estate market is not exactly great governmental financial policy. https://financialpost.com/opinion/the-bank-of-canada-needs-to-get-serious-about-inflation

Blissfully unaware describes about 75% of voters unfortunately. Voters respond to catch phrases, and believe what they read in the media and the media likes to get a change in government every so often so that they have fresh material to write about. People don't give a fig about why inflation is high, they want action from the government. Yes, inflation is high in other parts of the world, maybe even worse than here, but the same isn't true with housing cost rises and other countries are not producers like we are. Blaming inflation entirely on the rest of the world is a cop out.

Bombers signed Carlton Adugosi. Was wondering why they hadn't re-signed him, glad they did. -
I think that PP could win an election against Trudeau, and that's not a reflection on the voters of Canada, that's a reflection on the Liberal party and it's policies right now. Pierre Polievre will bring the far right...no doubt about it...but there is also a large faction of the centre of the political spectrum just waiting for a reason to dump Trudeau. I know that Liberals on here think that's crazy talk but it really isn't. The Liberals have been barely holding on for two elections now against leaders of the CPC that are as inspiring as milque toast. Love him or hate him, Pierre will talk a much better game to the disenchanted than Scheer or O'Toole. That being said, I really hope that the CPC elects Charest. He is a guy that could really drive a stake through the heart of the Liberals. I look at the numbers in Alberta, and although the PPC did steal a lot of CPC vote, they were a non-factor in the outcome of the election in that province for the most part. In Ontario, the PPC made a big difference but I suspect that the PPC support there was more of a mixed bag. May still have been enough to pull out 7-8 more seats for the CPC but that's about it. Having said that, if you add 7-8 seats to the CPC and you take 7-8 away from the Liberals it would have made life really difficult for Trudeau...not that it isn't already.
-
If true the Liberals need to be very concerned about Pollievre because he will bring those voters to the CPC. That, and voter fatigue with Trudeau could be trouble for the Liberals if they run Trudeau again. I was not aware that the PPC had any impact at all...and lets face it 75% of the PPC are hard right CPC and Libretarians.
-
I agree. The PPC did not cost the CPC a single seat, it just cost them a few % points in seats they won easily anyway.
-
Saying, or doing, stupid things hasn't hurt Trudeau that much. He has been the poster boy for putting his foot in his mouth. Just saying. That being said, I don't believe Pollievre can win an election without going more to the middle of the political spectrum.

Got a sweet deal on a new lease to re-open. Nice to see the boys at FB hospitality getting back to work.

You might be familiar with his older and much more famous brother Danke. Looks like a Lawler style receiver. Hopefully he is as good. -
Depends....were you trying to be a ******? If so then yes you did it right. You sure like to attack people that don't share your political ideologies but scream murder when they say anything that offends your sensibilities. Grow up man. I believe that both sides of the political system in the US is full of corruption. I think the majority of people probably do. I couldn't give a rats fig if their president is named Trump or Biden, I have no horse in the race. I just think it's comical to the point of being absurd how those who are invested in it will twist the facts to their belief systems and it DEFINITELY goes both ways. Every Republican is a liar and every Democrat tells the truth and vice versa is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard.
-
Glad he is gone. Putin was enamored by him.
-
Whatever man. Believe what you want to believe and attack the motives of those who disagree. Just garbage. That's for sure. I agree. CNN is not nearly as bad as FOX, and Tucker Carlson is a clown. Yea, when Trump started spouting his crazy and they saw the ratings when they reported it, it went off the deep end after that. True....unfortunate...but true.
-
Problem is that most people are judging the facts they want to hear according to their own biases because that is how they are now presented. It is highly ignorant for anyone to quote CNN or Bloomberg as being more credible than Fox or the New York Post. BS runs deep on both sides of America's political scene. To say otherwise would be straight up gaslighting.
-
Lol. The people of Haiti aren't as optimistic about her honesty as you are.

Millions of dollars missing from the Clinton Foundation for one. We will have to see how far down the rabbit hole we get I suppose but Biden sure looks like he has got some explaining to do. https://www.maciverinstitute.com/2022/03/the-hunter-biden-story-was-always-about-joes-corruption/
-
Yes, all of that is true, but let's be real, if the Dems don't nominate and run the ultra corrupt and ultra dislikeable Clinton candidate they probably could have/should have overcome all of that. Her very presence stoked the fire that fed Trump's support. Laugh if you want, but Trump did win the election and not every voter he had was mysoginistic, racist or selfish....a lot of them just really didn't like anything about Hilary or what she stands for and really didn't understand what they were getting themselves into.

Agreed. The list of draft busts is littered with speed demons and freakish athletes who unfortunately could not run routes, catch, or just had a 2 cent brain. The measurables are all fine and dandy, but you don't get paid for your ability to dunk Oreos....as impressive as that is to watch. -
Yep, he was able to feed off the worst in people for sure. No doubt about it. A big part of the problem is the media in the US as well. They have broken into factions and aligned themselves along partisan lines and now there is no one calling a spade a spade, without another media outlet trying to run cover for their respective party. Fox, CNN...just two different sides of the same coin and it pushed the wingnuts and disenchanted out to the fake news and conspiracy theories and then you get the **** show that is US politics. Just a bunch of lies from both sides and no clear way of knowing who the hell is telling the truth, so a lot of people just start listening to who shouts the loudest....and then you get Trump reaffirming every wingnut thing they have been reading on Facebook and the stupid go along for the ride. Journalism is just as bad a cesspool now too and it's changed the way people decide elections really. It's no longer an informed and balanced decision...can't be...no gets an informed and balanced news source anymore. Thankfully, our media in Canada still has a certain amount of integrity compared to the US, but even here it's splitting.
-
Look...I don't deny that Trump is definitely a **** show of the highest order but I see him as an outlier really. He got to power because everyone hated Hilary. I don't think he will be the next GOP candidate for president and many of the emboldened wingnuts that emerged in the GOP will get push over to the Tea Party. However, Biden and Pelosi are **** shows too. It's not a peter measuring contest but I suppose if you wanted to compare then it is a worst state of affairs than I thought. I would hope at some point the people of the USA decide to do better, start a new party, and get rid of all these wingnuts. None of them deserve office. Shock and awe politics. It's just gross to watch. US politics has become ultra partisan at the expense of the citizens because everyone is just making up bigger and bigger lies about each other.
-
Maybe for some. However, for most it's just the truth.

I didn't start this topic. Just responding. Please feel free to contact a mod to move everyone's comments.

Wasn't talking about Bill, but yeah you could throw him in there too. Talking about Hilary....a woman so sketchy that the Americans felt Trump was more trustworthy. Yet you make them all the time to paint anyone who is a Republican or a CPC member as a radical. Weird double standard you got going.
-
It's a very low bar. There are no good guys. They are all awful.
-
Baloney....the Democrats are every bit as corrupt as the Republicans. Clinton and Biden are no better than Trump they just aren't as public with their corruption. It is gross to think their are people defending Russia's actions.
-
Whatever works in the cesspool that is American politics. It's a gong show, and it isn't just a gong show on the right. The left has culpability in it as well and you will never convince me otherwise. It is gross and it is trickling into Canadian politics as well. Sad state of affairs. Extreme partisanship has taken over.
