  1. It's funny how the guys with an axe to grind against MOS suddenly find no merit in FIFO..when we all know damn well it is the source of the best locker room culture in the CFL. It gives merit to the strong point of MOS's coaching so now it's a sham perpetuated by the media. Alrighty then. FIFO is about fitting in and being a team first guy. Shoes or a colorful personality have bupkus to do with that.
  2. He was never more than a rotational guy. I'm not sure who thought he'd be a star but if someone was thinking that it was an over reach. All I read on here, was that he would be a solid pickup for us as part of the rotation. Still would be.
  3. Intact teeth....if by black broken off nubs you mean intact teeth....then yea for sure. Rider jerseys are rubber boots black, Those are the wedding rubber boots...green ones are every day wear. I Rorketon Saskatchewan, as I type this, there is a Rider fan in the outhouse looking up what obsidian is, and then smacking his head saying "why didn't they just say rubber boot black"
  4. The guy had a QBR of 112.8 last year. He had virtually identical stat lines to 2022 and better than his first MOP win in 2021. What part of that screams inconsistent? Did he have a couple down games after he was injured? Yep...but for the most part he was same old Zac. Agreed. Forums would be pretty boring if everyone agreed, and then it would likely attract the contrarians which is more annoying than any debate I've seen around here lately.
  5. Keep in mind that he was playing thru injury for about 4-5 games last year.
  6. 2019 and 2021 as well. We just came out on the right end of the scoreboard. Playoffs are a different animal for QBs.
  7. He was the number one rated QB last year over the QB that won MOP. Some on here are suggesting he struggled. I think they've got their man at 5th receiver picked out. I am not sure if they have the same on defence.
  8. Yep...that is the point I was making. I have zero doubts are offence this year is going to be off the hook. All my question marks are on defence.
  9. I agree. Just saying he was in the conversation.
  10. At any rate, I don't think assessing our offence is really our priority coming into this game. Those battles are probably wrapped up already. Defence on the other hand.....the coaches may want to get a good hard look at several positions there. Let the 3rd and 4th string QBs try find their CFL game and if it results in the D getting a bunch of extra reps that's not necessarily a bad thing in preseason.
  11. He was the front runner on our team most of the season. Game 15 vs BC was billed as the showdown for MOP west honors between Collaros and Adams for a couple weeks leading up to it.
  12. That is likely part of it, not exposing him to unnecessary shots is a factor. The coaches know pretty much who they want already. Preseason games are about finding out if someone can sneak up on those decisions by demonstrating they are a gamer. For a receiver to do that he does need the starter throwing.
  13. Last year he was very much in the MOP conversation.
  14. Why not. They will also be evaluated on hundreds of reps in TC, and on game film whether they are the target of a pass or not. He is knicked up.
  15. There you go, I thought he had played preseason 2022. He was so awful from getting no reps in preseason 22 that he promptly went out and laid out a 9-0 start to the season en route to a MOP award. Hopefully, this will end the teeth gnashing as it appears that Zac always has very little pre-season play time, if any. So far that has worked out just fine.
  16. Yea, Ok one quarter and a series. I stand corrected. Those 8 passing attempts had a profound impact on his game 1 play? Nah....not buying it. A veteran the calibre of Collaros does not need to play the preseason really. If the Bombers feel comfortable not playing him, I am perfectly fine with that. I would agree if we didn't have Strev, who can easily step in while all the other guys knock off the rust. Zac doesn't really need to do so.
  17. Yes, I have stated he played one Q in each of 22 and 23.
  18. He played a grand total of one Q of football in each of those seasons. He had a grand total of 6 pass attempts in preseason 2022 and 7 in 2023. Are you guys seriously suggesting that those half a dozen passing attempts each year made a lick of difference come game 1 of the season? C'mon....you guys are bitching just for the sake of bitching on this one. Zac not playing is a giant nothing burger.
  19. He played one quarter in each of 22 and 23.
  20. Really? Check our first few games offence of both 22 and 23. Early season has not been our problem at all on offence. What happened months ago in a highly charged playoff atmosphere in cold weather does not equate to this situation at all. Just as a game played in June does not matter come November. I think this is sort of a naive take. They take reps because that is where they will get their timing down. None of these guys need to see the bullets flying in order to do that. We have a very veteran offensive group, they will be just fine and really don't need the live action of pre-season to be prepared for game 1. Starting O's don't get much out of preseason games contrary to popular belief on this thread.
  21. I am not concerned about Zac in any way. He will be just fine, and I don't think rust will be an issue. It would be nice to get our starting O a quarter but it's not really a big deal that we aren't imo. Rather have our guys healthy. You want to show off every big play. Nah...these guys will have it down after the first practice. There is very little to do except to fine tune the timing again and that can be done very quickly with all the vets we have.
  22. Malik is likely done. However, grandpa Harris came back from what should have been a career ender so who knows....although, I may be counting my chickens before they hatch on Harris having any kind of longevity this season.
  23. Yea, would give us some options with the 3rd NAT receiver on the field. I agree with that as well. A real YAC threat would be fantastic addition.
  24. Those are certainly some good options. Without seeing the final roster I am not sure what I would do with the DIs, but I like the idea of a receiver/returner.
