You should be outraged. Stove was miles better than Johnson. I'm guessing the fact he only played 7 games was what did his selection in. I'm really quite surprised by how our team was snubbed. We easily had 20 all stars and it is a crying shame that they did not recognize some of our players to appease fan bases in Regina, and Calgary.

Rigmaiden was offered the Montreal job when Wally was the special consultant for their search. He turned it down but Montreal was a tire fire at that time. I could see him being a front runner for the Edmonton position if he's at all interested.

What if vaccinated guys bring Covid into the locker room? I really don't think that you can worry about this if you are the Stamps at this point.
-
No doubt. He is Hodge with much more of a home town bias.

I think what some people are forgetting here is that in 2018 and 2019, most of Streveler's plays were run out of a handful of formations with various options available on each based on defensive alignment. It would take little to get that up and running again, particularly if Harris is available to us. We ran multiple versions of the same few plays with pretty good success. Several of these formations we also use with Collaros now. It wouldn't take much time or effort to get a few more up and running for Strev if he were to return. The whole offence does not need to learn this stuff. They already know it, just need a refresher. Even if we barely used Strev, the threat that we might makes preparing for him a problem in a Grey Cup week that offers limited time as it is.

I don't buy into the whole playbook thing with Strevs. You aren't signing a classic QB here. You are signing a man with a particular set of skills at a time that those skills are very useful. If any of QBs have to take over FT for Zac we are screwed. I would feel a 1000x better if we had to hand the ball to McGuire or Brown (IF we couldn't get Strev ready on time) if we could roll out Strev freak of nature athletic ability for a dozen plays a game while we do that. If you don't think that signing Strev right now increases our chances of winning then I have to question whether or not you have gotten checked for Alzheimers because the 2019 run should tell you all you need to know about how useful he could be to us as a change of pace guy if Zac is healthy, or as a compliment to McGuire or Brown should be, god forbid, have to go down that road.
-
McGuire was inaccurate on many of his throws, and was not reading the defence well at all. If you are comfortable with him as the backup you are in the minority of people I would think. Personally, whether we sign Strev or not I would be handing him his walking papers at the end of the season. He has spent 2 years with us now and he is a long way off from being a competent QB.

A Streveler package would be entirely different than anything we run with Collaros. Also, you are forgetting that Buck has complete access to the Strev playbook we ran in 2018/19 and that almost all of our offensive unit is very experienced in the Strev package offence. It would need a couple days of practice but it's mostly run plays and RPOs...it is not hard to get the timing down on that. Gimme a break. There was nothing wrong with the protection provided to either of them in their starts. There is zero chance that Strev comes North for a GC run with Saskatchewan. The ONLY way he comes back to the CFL this season is if he has a hankering for a mid December GC parade down Portage and Main.
-
How is that different than if McGuire or Brown has to play?
-
Did you watch McGuire run our offence? Also, our playbook has not changed that much. How we call plays and the freedom given to the QB has changed a lot but a lot of our offence is relatively the same under Pierce. Doubtful. Would have been mentioned I would think.
-
First of all, we aren't starting Strev. That would be too much to ask. Secondly even without intimate knowledge of our playbook he gives us a better shot to win the game than McGuire or Brown should Collaros get injured. But you bring him back mostly for his ability to come in for 6-10 plays and run over people.
-
The 3DN guy was probably that goof RadioRyan I am thinking? I could fit everything he knows about football in a walnut shell.
-
In 2018 Streveler was our starting QB after TC with zero experience in the league. At the time, he was commended for his ability to learn the playbook in record time. As for playbook, you dust off half a dozen or so plays that our team already knows intimately from 2019 and bingo bango Strev's doing his thing and he becomes the game planning nightmare for DCs like he was last year in the playoffs.

I disagree. You field the best team you possibly can every week, especially in the playoffs. There is no tomorrow if you don't win today. The Stamps are not a strong enough team to look past the Riders and they are screwed no matter what against the Bombers. Their best hope is to field the best team they possibly can to beat the Riders, and hope for the football gods, the weather, a Bomber team not ready etc. and steal a win in the West Final.
-
Oops my bad....doesn't really matter what sacrificial lamb you guys were rolling out though. We have 5 D players this year that are more worthy than anyone on the Riders. I think that Hodge's definition of "CFL insider" is pretty loose. Probably heard some goof at 7-11 say it.

I am a huge Neil Gaiman fan so I am really stoked for the Netflix series The Sandman in early 2022. Should be awesome.
-
I might be alone on this, but I am glad the scribes in Saskatchewan did not blackball AC Leonard. I thought it was an absolute travesty when the Bomber scribes did it to Andrew Harris in a MOP worthy season and I will stay consistent in my belief on this. That being said AC Leonard is not even in the same galaxy as Adam Bighill as a player, man, team mate, or leader and doesn't deserve even the slightest consideration for the West nomination.
-
Must be something that hasn't come out yet publically. He was acquitted for his college troubles and the NFL has an even more prohibitive policy on this than the CFL. Gotta be something that just happened very recently.
-
A coin flip really between any of them. ALL were outstanding.
-
AC should be due for another failed pee attempt soon I would think. Poor guy, has a bladder like a camel.
-
What the heck is a Sakatchewite? At any rate, Bob says the politically correct things on air and like all Bomber faithful loathes them with all his heart. It's all part of being a Bomber fan. Also, who says you can't respect someone you hate? I have a healthy respect for every CFL team outside of Winnipeg....but I hate them all.

Hey if Rider fans are dumb enough to pay for pixie dust, jesus sprinkles, and magic beans then all the power to the Rider club for getting them to do it. Pretty much. They are stoking Duke up pretty good but Edmonton's secondary is pretty poor.
-
An outright embarrassing penalty that gifted Regina home field. Has there been a worse 9-4 team ever? In any other year these Riders are a .500 club It's too bad they don't have the technology to get these calls right. These are the type of plays command centre should be able to correct without need of a challenge. I dont think fans would mind the game being 15-20 mins longer so they can get it right.
-
Meh...offence was out of synch..i expected that. McGuire was poor tho.

A friend of mine in Calgary was telling me that Huff and Maier were pretty tight and that there were rumors Huff felt Maier should be playing right now not Bo and may have voiced his opinion too strongly to Dickie. This, of course, is rumor mill stuff from the Calgary fan base but I just put it out there because it is interesting.
