  1. They are nowhere because they are not relevant to Harris. Of course, he can be signed for under 200k...that's a given. I would think the Bombers and most teams in the league will want to get him for far less than that. Wally got bit once or twice by releasing guys too. However, last year illustrated that we can win without Harris and when you are short on SMS room he is probably the most logical big savings we can make. I don't think the Bombers feel he has nothing left in the tank, they just know that he is a luxury item that we can't afford to keep. He'll go to Ottawa in all likelihood and squeeze out another decent season and instantly help them a great deal. They need him, and can pay him...he doesn't fit into either of those categories here.
  2. If it's not public, I am sure that it is the very first thing asked.
  3. Harris is the best RB in Bomber history. He deserves another contract. That being said if the reports are true that he came in out of shape last year and not ready to play then he needs to consider that as well. I am sure the Bombers have asked him to take a cut, maybe not officially, but certainly unofficially. If Harris wants to be a Bomber I am sure he can be. The ball is in his court but by all accounts the big payday here is gone for him, and it sure sounds like this was at least partially his own doing. I wish him well if he wants to chase the pay day and I am sure Lapo has 20 touches a game reserved for him in Ottawa. We will be fine without him. FIFO.
  4. Meh...2019 election he had support...and then he talked and his support evaporated because Maxime is an idiot when he has to discuss policies. If there is no covid or anti vaxx movement the guy doesn't get 1% of the vote.
  5. Farhan's record on reporting on FA is very poor historically. He likes to throw a lot of crap against the wall. I think he reported that Derell Walker was going to be a Bomber once FA opens about 3 times now. Take whatever he says this time of year with a big grain of salt. We are placing a lot of faith in a Farhan says. Problem is when a guy doesn't realize that he is not the same player he used to be it quite often leads to this. Even though no one wants it that way.
  6. It might not be fair to pin it on Trudeau but it is happening on his watch. Lots of leaders get the blame/credit for things that are beyond their control. Yep. As a party member I had no idea what the hell O'Toole stood for and that was a massive impediment to the party. The beginning of the campaign he did exactly as he should have. He made housing the issue and hammered the Liberal economic record. Then he began the flip flopping.
  7. Hey if 4.8% inflation doesn't concern you...all the power to you. I can tell you that this is a big number for a lot of people. Agreed.
  8. The path will be wide open once the division of the pandemic is over. Economy will be the path to victory. It's not an easy path and they will have to control the election narrative, something they did early in the 2021 campaign and then faltered at in the last 10 days.
  9. Ok...4.8%....oh geez what a feel good story. Everyone have no fear it's only creeping onto 5%.
  10. I am sure there was a small faction of the CPC that did indeed hate it. However, the numbers serve to show where the overwhelming majority of members sit on the issue.
  11. Not now, but he was the Liberal Guiseppi for a long time. I am sure he has his handpicked heir to the puppet strings.
  12. Except that no party leader completely allows their MPs to speak freely. There is a party whip in every party and every party since the dawn of party politics controls the message. Those who speak freely do so at their own peril.
  13. Two words, Gerald Butts.
  14. Completely untrue. A resolution to support the conversion therapy ban was passed with 92% of delegates in favor at the CPC national convention.
  15. Probably around the time inflation hit 6% and house prices doubled in a 5 year span. Just my guess.
  16. 34 seats -3rd party status- and leader could not win his seat. That's the edge of the abyss the Liberals were sitting on in 2006. That's near obliteration.
  17. And that is what the next leader will have to do as well. I don't think even the diehard CPC right wingers think they can win an election on a protest vote like Trump managed to do. The CPC will take a moderate approach with a few more assurances to the Alberta caucus about a slow roll to climate change policy to bridge the gap.
  18. I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. We are not the USA, Even the extremes of the CPC membership are much more moderate than the polarization happening in the USA. It is a mistake to think that the CPC won't have a climate change policy for the next election, and it is a mistake to think that the majority of CPC members don't want one. Demonize the party if that's what helps you sleep at night but only a small portion of CPC members are at the extreme right of the spectrum.
  19. The overwhelming majority of CPC supporters do not support anti-vaxxers or their mandates. There is nothing fractious about that. Some of our MPs want to step into bed with them, so be it, we are not and never have been a party that requires all MPs and all members to group think and conform in all ideologies. However, the overwhelming majority of CPC members are neither right wing zealots or wing nuts and that is what you guys on the left have a real hard time comprehending. The vast majority of CPC supporters do so because they favor a conservative approach to financial management and more and more people are starting to wake up to the Justinflation and housing bubble the Liberals have created. You think the next election is going to be fought on the narrative of social justice and pandemic management? Trudeau had better hope for a 5th, 6th and 7th wave then because when the lens goes back to his economic policies he's toast.
  20. We shall see next election if you are right or not I guess. I have been a CPC member for many, many years and know a great deal of CPC members all of whom are very nice, upstanding, and conscientious people. But hey....paint everyone with the same brush.
  21. When was the last time the right united to beat the Liberals? Not long ago the right united, elected Stephen Harper as their leader and creamed the Liberals into almost obliteration in the next 3 elections....and yes...the popular vote means little to seat count...but it destroys the narrative that the CPC doesn't have support in this country. The PPC doesn't even matter no matter how loudly you bang that drum. They are a party that swung some votes in a global pandemic. When actual policy and not protest returns post pandemic they will fade away into the ether and their votes will return to the CPC. Absolutely the CPC is rudderless right now or Trudeau would be in opposition. However, like all things the longer a cringe worthy prime minister stays in power the stronger his opposition is going to get. IF, and its a big IF, the CPC manages to get it right and elect a leader that can lead and can appeal to Ontario, Trudeau's days will be numbered. The CPC is not nearly as fractured as you think they are. They just know they got it wrong with O'Toole and are hitting the reset.
  22. The thing about zealots is that they are the people most likely to show up and vote. In a country where voter apathy is a massive problem you are right to suggest they shouldn't be dismissed. Maybe...but it won't. The PPC will pick up that 1-2% of wingnuts. Not really a genius. He just ran a tight ship and had the benefit of a strong economy. It tends to soothe the right when that happens. A lot of people on the far right tend to settle down a lot when they've got their government. Same goes with the far left I suppose. I think pretty much everyone said that about Stronach.
  23. Don't underestimate the rights ability to unite. They have done it before and the division was far greater back then. I could see a lot of CPC members returning to the fold under the right leader especially now that Trudeau fatigue has really set in for a lot of the voters that swing between CPC and Liberal. The left has tried to paint the narrative that the CPC has no chance anymore and is irrelevant but the CPC has won the popular vote the past two elections. A strong leader popular in the 905 and the Liberals will suddenly not be as entrenched as they think they are. The shine is off the Trudeau diamond and IF the CPC elect a leader that resonates a lot better than O'Toole or Scheer it could be a new government next time. Trudeau has made his own bed when it comes to trustworthiness. The Liberals need to move on from him, people just don't like him all that much anymore. Only thing saving his butt is that the CPC seems to be content to get leaders that are even less appealing thus far.
  24. For sure. He may just have needed some seasoning too.
  25. He didn't have his agent phone every team in the league to see if they would offer 21k more than the Bombers? Weird.....I was told that's how it works.
