2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
GCn20 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I remember that well. That is right around the same time we put Nichols in for an injured Willy and despite the new nasty on the OL there was debate about whether it was Nichols "quick release" or the new OL that led to the improvement. I think the answer has become very clear in retrospect. -

If you are born outside Canada and your Canadian birth parents have never resided in Canada prior to your 18th birthday you are still eligible but must apply for Canadian citizenship. Just a formality but it is not automatic. You do not carry citizenship by birthright. You carry citizenship by birthright and residency or by application upon planned residency. Cody Fajardo is a young Kevin Glenn. -
Do you mean the play where the nose of the football touching the ground knocked him out cold?

Yes, there is that as well. However, hopefully the flight restrictions will be gone by then. From a sentimental stand point I suppose. The sitting on the bench most of the season was probably not the best way to convince him to extend. -

I am aware of that but I thought I had read that he had actually renounced his Canadian citizenship upon gaining US citizenship, I could be wrong though. -

All I meant was that if he gets a stupid offer we can't match. Of course, I want Kyle to move heaven and earth to keep him here. Are you sure he is a Canadian citizen? I am not sure he is. One does not have to be to be considered a NAT. -

A worthy tradition Do or Die. Thanks for the odds and sods all these years. -
2021 Grey Cup GDT - Bombers vs. Tiger-Cats

In the spring of 2020, I was fishing on my dock at my cottage listening to the local radio station and they announced the Grey Cup was in Thompson at the rec centre and come on by. I jumped in my truck and 20 minutes later I got a cool picture of myself and Shayne Gauthier with the Cup. Hope they take it out on the road again. -

Well Tui won't be allowed back into the country next year unless his vax status changes so I count him as gone. Possible that Desjarlais gets an offer he can't refuse. I am OK with both losses if it comes to that. We have a big mean road grader named Dobson coming in and will likely go OL with our 1st rounder if we need to. We have effectively already lost Eli due to Canada's border restrictions on unvaccinated players. -

Caretaker Bob didn't get much funding help and built what could be afforded. Still a ton better than Ivor Wynne. Awesome....Nicholls just about to beat himself up for letting the INT go through his hands and then Rose and Wilson say "hold my beer". -

He was definitely deliberately trying to keep the ball alive for sure. I think he was hoping to get the interception but ended up batting it into Wilson's arms instead. Just as good of a result. -

Idk...getting traded from the gappers had to be the low point of his career. If there was ever a reason to hang them up and just protect your health that would be it. He stuck with it. Now that he has a healthy MOP/GC season behind him it would shock me if he walked away now. -

I agree, especially since he has zero experience as a GM. He would need a John Murphy type hire and if there is no money that makes it tough. -

You can deny permission even if it is a promotion. We did it to Lapo a couple years ago when the Riders wanted him for HC. That being said I don't think we would deny him, nor do I think Madani's report is anywhere even remotely accurate. -

As someone who coaches special teams for a while, I can honestly say the point single was not the worst decision I've seen. It was a high wind day, difficult to judge the ball. In those circumstances I would never instruct a player to let a kickoff get behind you. It's a live ball and you never know when it hits the turf how it will bounce. Letting it past you could result in a TD. You field kickoffs in the wind and don't get cute with it. Also, the returner would have been coached that field position against the wind is of paramount importance. If you don't see an obvious lane take the knee and take the ball at the 35. I know that the single point did not allow the Cats to win, but in my opinion, getting the ball for sure at the 35 against the wind is what allows them to even have a FG to try. If the returner gets tackled at his own 20 I don't like Hamilton's odds of driving the field for a FG try for the win against a gale force wind. In retrospect, it turned out to be a bad decision but we'll never know how it might have played out if he brought it out or let it go by. Could have bounced sideways and died in the end zone with the Bombers recovering it for the win, returner could have been hemmed in and tackled at his 15-20 yard line like he was in the 1st Q when he brought it out. -
3 year deal, 10 year deal...irrelevant.
-
He falls in love with his own press clippings, unless of course they are negative then whoever wrote them is a bad, bad man.
-
It's a good thing that's Fajardo falling down if it was Duke Williams he would have been knocked out.
-
Without the turnovers this game is a blow out by half time. The football gods and Jesus sprinkles did everything in their power.
-
He is the chosen one after all.
-
They need a whole new OL, and locker room culture rebuild by next November....good luck with that.
-
Go cry in private man....you just told pretty much everyone in the free world how easy it is to get in your head. My goodness, it's no wonder this guy can't win the big game he's tremendously insecure. Toughen up young Cody Faj because to be successful you gotta be in the right frame of mind. Cody you might want to get your estrogen levels checked.
-
What direction does Cody Fajardo go? Any water to the rumour he may want to sign in Toronto? He stated in an interview a month ago that he wants to be a Bomber for as long as the team wants him.
-
Exactly. No one knew him in 2019 and once the book was out that he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn beyond 15 yards it was game over.
