99% of the big contracts come with a signing bonus in case the GM gets buyers remorse or a player gets nicked in camp and the GM feels he may not get his moneys worth. If, for instance, Lawler were to have a multi week injury near the end of camp....might Jones cut him? He might. Its a 300k contract...if a guy is going to miss half or 2/3 of the season and you don't have any signing bonus paid out already it would be far more tempting to do so. Minimum contracts don't generally come with signing bonuses but there is no real benefit to cutting a guy on minimum salary unless he was on the bubble already because it costs the same to replace him. When you salary is astronomical like Lawler's any multi-game injury or a slow start to the season and you might be shown the door without the protection of a signing bonus already paid out that will make teams more apt to 6 game you, or let you play through a slow start or slump.

His highs are way too high, and his lows are way too low. Not being able to manage emotions is not a particularly good trait to have as a QB. That, and he can't hit the broad side of a barn beyond 20 yards are the two factors that will keep him in the medium wrung of CFL QBs for the rest of his career. He can execute the short and intermediate games pretty efficiently but then a few completions in a row get to his head and he starts chucking long balls....and he is terrible at them...and then his confidence is shot again. Same story with him over and over again. Against the right defence he can have success, but anyone who keep him in the pocket and takes the middle of the field away from him in coverage will beat him more often than not.

I guess you are the front runner if you are the only announced candidate. I suspect that Mackay give Pollievre a pretty good run. Lots of PC support for Mackay still, and Charest is definitely a wild card. Lots of political savvy and he would do damage to the Liberals in Quebec. This leadership contest will depend on whether the small C majority of the membership actually shows up. It has been the Alberta show for a long time in the party and there are a lot of CPC members who are ready to take back the party.

I tend to agree. Personally, I protest voted in the last federal election because I just didn't want any of them but your concerns are probably in the back of the vast majority of CPC potential voters right now. I know many people who would swing back to the CPC if these issues were to sort themselves out favorably. Right now it's hold your nose and vote and many people are hoping the CPC becomes a viable alternative.

I found it odd for sure. Not odd that Toronto signed him, but odd that Lapo didn't. Toronto is like a kid in the candy store just buying anything that's available and hoping it tastes good. There are still a fair number of Reformers for sure. However, AD just did a poll on support of the Freedom Convoy and 67% of those who identified as CPC voters stated they were strongly opposed to the Freedom convoy with a further 11% saying they had no opinion on it. It is left wing propaganda that the right is united in support of this. Far from it. Also, NDP has 17% of its voters polled say they were strongly in favor of the Freedom Convoy and Liberals 12%. There is support across the political spectrum and definitely the vast majority of Canadians, of ALL 3 parties. strongly opposing it. While the CPC certainly has the highest % of support amongst it's members it is still in the very small minority of it's membership and in line with what the overall national numbers of support/opposition is.

However, if he did not and spoke out against nazism and racism you are making him guilty of something beyond his control. Same as the protesters. I don't agree with the blockade and I think it is ignorant. I will not, however, paint them as nazis because nazis chose to show up uninvited.

Their are some protesters there that are nazis, racists, wingnuts and there are protesters there that are concerned for their small businesses, livelihoods, or just general freedoms. To paint them all with the same brush is unfair. I just don't see the point in matching ignorance with ignorance. I agree. There is a tipping point to anyone's freedom of expression and no one should be able to fly nazi flags or racist banners etc. under the guise of protest. The governments have failed in that regard and the leaders of the protest have failed to control their message. That doesn't make them nazis though. Spineless...in the case of the government for sure....unprepared and unwilling to control their protest....yep....nazi....not so much. D front 7s, OL, and QB are the foundation of champions. I look around the league and we are so far ahead of everyone in these departments as an aggregate it isn't even funny....it's almost unfair.

The middle of our defence is back intact. Gonna be another long season for offence's that play us. Some hand wringing and worry about losing Lawler, and Harris but realistically with our defence we won't need to score more than 20 a game.

Keep the faith grasshopper. I may have underestimated their regular season performance the past couple years but come playoff time I've been bang on. They don't have the horses to win when it matters.
