Fajardo would do well in a Lapo offence. Fajardo is a game manager like Nichols and needs that type of offence and personnel around him. Asking Fajardo to win the game with his arm is a recipe for a losing record, just like it would have been if we asked Nichols to do it. Saskatchewan loves their shiny baubles and spends on skill players instead of their trenches and it can be exciting football at times but is not how you build a champion. The Riders don't even try to fix their trenches right. Garbage DEs because an over rated Micah makes all the cheddar, and an OL that, despite being a problem for years, has never really been addressed (JSJ bust, Shepley never wanted to be there, Mattland Riley a reach at his pick that needs a ton of development). Look at their high draft picks they've used on OL, any of them playing? Even there non OL draft picks either mediocre or left first chance they got. The RIders badly need a new person in charge of NAT scouting and a GM who will commit to building from the lines out instead of overpaying head cases like Marshall, Gainey or throwing big bucks at pedigree like Duke Williams or Micah Johnson.

He was a decoy. There was literally no chance the ball was coming to him and therefore almost no risk for further injury. I'm not suggesting they should have played him, just that there was no real risk in doing so either. Exactly...that's what makes this strange. There was literally no chance he could do anything but go for a run out there. You can tape up a game cast in no time. Which is what they did. Broken bones heal, as does tissue damage. Concussions are forever.

Newsflash: Players play with broken bones all the time. If there is minimal risk to further injury it is not an issue. If taped and supported there was really not much risk for Whitehead to do further injury. It was stupid by the LIons to trot out a one handed receiver but he is far from the first guy that's ever played with a broken bone.

What success did Maier have? 16 points is not a successful offensive game. Calgary's defence played lights out against us. No love for Tom Europe? I kid... Mo Kelly at S was a physical guy as well.

Don't forget the red zone interception that's a missed FG at the very least as well.

You look at guys that were called out on their dedication at times like Willie J in Sask, or Andrew Harris in BC, and see what our culture has woken up in them. Amazing what a good locker room can do to motivate each other and now these guys are leaders on our team. Then you take a guy like Chris Streveler for instance, how can any team mate look himself in the mirror and not give up his body 100% after watching that guy.

A hammy is not something you can play through as it significantly effects your ability to run and is something that will effect him until he can completely rest it for a few months really. I have not seen many players have hamstring problems and have success in the same calendar year. They usually need an offseason of rest and conditioning to get back to normal.

Went to a Buffalo Bills forum and looked what the fans were saying about Duke in camp. Wasn't much about him but one comment stood out. Take it with a grain of salt because it was a fan report from camp but apparently Duke appeared to be very slow compared to last year and completely out of shape. The comment was that the OL were getting downfield faster than Duke. This was from a poster that suggested he was a big Duke booster in 2020 and was very dismayed by his TC performance. This falls in line with some other reports that were out there that he was not able to create any separation at all in camp and looked sluggish all camp. Wonder if the Riders did their due diligence on this.

The thing is the score really didn't tell the tale of the game. It was such a dominant performance this could easily have been a 35-40 point spread. Bombers left a ton of points out on the field by turning the ball over and then going on cruise control for most of the 4th Q. The eyeball test tells me that the Bombers completely dominated every minute of the game on offence and defence. What else was the panel going to say after a beat down like that. It was that dominant.

I believe his QB efficiency in his last 6 games of 2019 was hovering right around the 90 mark too after being well over 100 the first half of the season. Teams figured out that if you keep him in the pocket and don't let him beat you with his legs that he is toast. Contain and he is done. Every team knows it, and now he must succeed with a below average arm.

Duke will be a better receiver than what they've got for deep balls but the fundamental problem with their deep ball game wasn't the receivers. Fajardo has been wildly inaccurate. If Faj somehow manages to develop chemistry with Duke and his OL can keep him upright so he can place his throws that can change but for now the problem stems from the LOS and QB. Duke won't help that. That reverse pivot was working wonders for him for about 9 games in 2019 and then the league caught on and his QB rating dropped exponentially after that. Still good numbers but not elite. Faj is a mid tier starter in this league and has been since mid 2019. Early 2019 he was playing MOP ball but he was also facing pretty much every team for the first time and no one had the book on him yet. Now they do and it shows.

Williams needs a certain type of QB to be successful. In Edmonton he had Reilly, who probably throws the most accurate deep ball in the league, or did at the time anyway. He was able to pinpoint back shoulder throws and comeback routes that allowed Duke to use his size to gain a big advantage. Duke is not a burner, or a receiver who even necessarily gets open on the long ball. Ball placement is paramount to his success on deep routes and that is not Cody Vaj's strong suit. One of the huge differences I see between Cody Faj 2019 and this year is that defences are keeping him in the pocket more and not letting him extend plays with his legs. Maas seems to be happy with turning him into a pocket passer and he loses everything that was dangerous about him because he is at best an average pocket passer.

When I was around Lawler's age I was in the hospitality industry. Work late, have a beer or two with my peers and go home and never thought anything of it. Around that time the big push for increased impaired driving penalties and awareness campaign was just starting and after witnessing many of my customers getting caught for impaired I bought a portable pocket breathalyzer for myself. It was kind of an impulse buy, as they were just coming out and my intention was to carry it with me at work and if I spotted any of our regulars on their way out I would offer them to use it. To make a long story short, was having a couple beers at closing time with the staff while cleaning up and decided to give it a whirl. To my surprise I blew over the limit. I had driven home many times after doing the exact same thing. It was on that day I realized that many people who go out for a drink or two at the pub with a buddy are likely unaware they are over the limit even when they are. I am not excusing drunk driving in any way just stating a fact. I learned that day that despite the fact I did not feel impaired that I was and I am glad I did not find out in the back seat of a squad car. I set forth on politely warning all my regulars who I knew would come and then drive home after. Some appreciated it, some didn't and some didn't care. Just throwing it out there that not everyone who steps behind the wheel of a vehicle impaired is necessarily making the conscious choice to do so. I have long advocated for breathalyzers to be implemented in every bar and lounge so that people can learn what their tolerances really are because they vary significantly from person to person.

Cody can't throw a deep ball. In the first half of 2019 it was almost comical how his receivers were bailing him or how lucky he was getting with DBs tipping it right into his receivers hands etc. His luck ran out in the last half of 2019 and has stayed that way since. He chronically underthrows and overthrows receivers. Duke is going to find out that Cody will make him earn every catch he makes.

50/50 balls? Is that what Fajardo is calling his deep passes? I think he is delusional. The guy is either throwing 15 yards over his receivers or 10 yards short. A 50/50 ball is a ball that the receiver has a reasonable chance of catching. His balls are way off the mark. He is quite literally just spraying balls everywhere. Rider fans are blaming Maas for this but even the last 4-5 games of 2019 this was what was happening with Fajardo. He can't throw the deep ball and now teams have figured that out. In early 2019 he was able to use his legs to great effect and to hit on the intermediate routes consistently. He was never good with the deep shot but kept the chains moving. Teams are shutting down his bread and butter slants and middle crossing routes and he has nothing now. Way overrated QB whose flaws are shining through now that the book is out on him. Complaining about his receivers....lol...their isn't a receiver in any league past, present, or future that could catch the vast majority of his deep passes...uncatchable.

Yes, that would be a great idea. In order to tax the wealthy, tax havens and loopholes must be closed first. It is entirely unrealistic to think that corporations and the mega rich are going to lineup to pay taxes in any jurisdiction unless they absolutely must.

I'd suggest that signing FA's is about all he is good at....oh and an expansion draft that gives access to some excellent talent from other teams. He can wear that stencilled around his neck. However, he has been exposed as a GM that can't recruit or retain talent....and that is a big problem for his career longevity.

I think Matty was the right guy at the right time but it was the rebuild of the OL that year that made the difference and let's be clear our offence was not great until Andrew Harris made his way over from BC. Bryant was our first big FA signing of the new regime and he was essential as he returned credibility to us. Randle Island can never be forgotten for it's impact on our secondary. Matty Ice being available for peanuts and outplaying his expectations was huge, Travis Bond, Jemarcus Hardrick, and Goosen were a revelation along our OL....but Harris....Harris was a key point in recent Bomber history. We were a below average team before him.

There are many, many centrist CPC supporters that oppose Trudeau's gun legislation. There are many rural Canadians on the left that oppose it as well. The only places that really favor this are the GTA and Quebec. Is the CPC powerbase currently concentrated in Western Canada....you bet...does that equate to being far right....not even.
