Maybe not letting the media vote anymore would be a better way to go or at the very least don't give them the freaking majority of votes.
-
As a writer you should feel the responsibility to vote in accordance with the audience that supports you.
-
I am growing tired of the mainstream media trying to enforce it's own beliefs into everything now....and they wonder why reader/viewership is down. Wyman, Bauming, and (Hamilton or Friesen?) should be ashamed. Their vanity is staggering.
-
No one has a more inflated record from feasting on the weak East over the past several years than the Hamilton Ti-Cats.
-
Fajardo is an average QB at best who is actually quite easily rattled, and is getting a lot more attention than he deserves because this hasn't exactly been the year of the QB in the CFL due to every starter going down. If all QBs are healthy he is 4th or maybe even 5th best in the West. It's a big step up for the Riders to get some semblance of an offence, but they haven't seen one since 2013 so their minds are blown a little easier than normal.....kinda like how we are fawning over the "great" Zac Collaros because he has a decent passing game after the Bombers went a long stretch without one.
-
That short yardage specialist with heart hung 35 on you in an absolute dominant beat down in the Banjo Bowl. That being said...play them both.
-
Play them both, the two create a massive headache for DC's to gameplan.
-
Of course the East would whine about that. They have been the weak sister for so long they believe it's their right.
-
He was 2-0 against them last year.
-
Wolitarsky is a dependable possession receiver. Nothing more. He may develop into a 1000 yard guy but this year he has struggled to get open. Last year he had a coming out party, but he is not a guy that will ever take the top off coverages or win a lot of battles in man to man. He needs other receivers to create space for him and we don't have those guys right now.
-
That is your opinion.
-
Be more specific. What talents are we wasting? Drew Wolitarsky? Hit and miss all season when touches go his way. Demski? Just not a very consistent performer at all even with the Riders. Lawler and Bailey...getting as many touches as a rookie realistically should. Whitehead...great athlete and KR but a well below average receiver.
-
Bailey and Lawler have been getting the most touches of anyone over the past 3 games.
-
Not everyone has sucked that has been through here but most have been average at best. Wolitarsky, Demski, etc are not star players and never will be. They are not being held back by our offensive system. Every team has a dynamic receiver or two and we are unable to get that on our team. Adams was very good but his body is breaking down on him. Without a true threat at number one and two receiver the passing game fizzles. We simply do not have an upper echelon receiver by any CFL standard and that is compounded by not having good enough QBs as well. Nichols can get the job done but he will never elevate his receivers like a Reilly does.
-
I'm not going to defend Lapo but we seriously need a heavy upgrade in talent on O. Our receiving corps is well below average, our OL is good but not great, our QB stable in bottom 3rd of the CFL. Only our RB is top notch and it's why we use him as much as we do. If anyone thinks we have the makings of an elite offence with a different coordinator they are vastly incorrect. We have some of the pieces but serious upgrades are needed.
-
I just don't see how a West QB will win this year with such outstanding performances by Burnham, Harris, and Begelton. No QB should win by default.
-
Sure, but I highly doubt it's Fajardo. He's exceeded expectations like Nichols in 2017, but he's not even an upper echelon QB let alone MOP.
-
You are smoking crack if you think that Fajardo is the heavy favorite for MOP. Its MOP not MVP and by no metric is Fajardo the most outstanding player in the West.
-
I saw Brock throw a ball through the uprights from midfield in pre-game...from his knees. Not wind aided either.
-
Streveler can be inaccurate on short to medium throws. Its more a timing thing usually.
-
What else are you going to say when you have Milt though. Sure it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but it does demonstrate that when Lapo has a guy who can do it he takes advantage.
-
I agree. I think Chris Streveler will have a very successful future in the CFL. He's not there yet though. However, the only apt comparison listed in the QBs is BLM and Mike Reilly. The rest had the benefit of beginning their starting careers in the 60's.70's 80's which allowed for a crap load more of mistakes than the game allows for now. So in that context, both BLM and MR were not immediately successful. Neither guy started out as a starter immediately. They both mentored as backups under very good QBs before getting their chances at starting. Also, Mike Reilly's first year as a starter...you might want to check his win/loss record on that season. It took him a year of starting before he learned how to win too.

Rider fans complaining about our attendance on Saturday

Winnipeg is a metropolis compared to Regina or Saskatoon and to suggest otherwise is idiotic. -

There are not a lot more Rider fans than Bomber fans. We just don't dedicate all our spare time to the Bombers. Other interests like pro hockey, big city entertainment, actual lakes and rivers (not man made resevoirs) to visit and use in the summer time, and a multitude of other things that Sask cannot offer to it's residents due to the diminutive size of it's cities, keep us busy. I suppose if I lived in a province as devoid of opportunities as Saskatchewan my spare time might be all spent being a Bomber fan. Fortunately, we do not have to be fanatical in Winnipeg. We have lots of things to do and the Bombers are just one of them. You keep stroking your Rider jersey in boredom and trolling Bomber sites if that's what gives you relief from the boredom that living in Saskatchewan surely must bring. However, lets call a spade a spade. Your fanbase suffers from little man syndrome. Because you live in a province with big towns and no cities you guys are like chihuahuas. Always yapping at the bigger dogs in the yard trying to prove your cities measure up and the Riders have become the extension of this because it is literally the ONLY thing Sask has on the national stage. Fortunately for us here in Winnipeg, we use a much bigger ruler to measure our size, it's called the NHL. You guys aren't even in the same weight division. -
Saskatchewan's chain just became more controversial. A bride from My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding show is complaining that the Riders chain was taken from her wedding dress ensemble. She wants it back and has offered the Riders the use of her Bedazzler to make their own.
