Don't underestimate the rights ability to unite. They have done it before and the division was far greater back then. I could see a lot of CPC members returning to the fold under the right leader especially now that Trudeau fatigue has really set in for a lot of the voters that swing between CPC and Liberal. The left has tried to paint the narrative that the CPC has no chance anymore and is irrelevant but the CPC has won the popular vote the past two elections. A strong leader popular in the 905 and the Liberals will suddenly not be as entrenched as they think they are. The shine is off the Trudeau diamond and IF the CPC elect a leader that resonates a lot better than O'Toole or Scheer it could be a new government next time. Trudeau has made his own bed when it comes to trustworthiness. The Liberals need to move on from him, people just don't like him all that much anymore. Only thing saving his butt is that the CPC seems to be content to get leaders that are even less appealing thus far.

What did Woli sign for? Who offered him 20k more? From what I understand he signed as soon as we offered him a contract and that the deal was quite friendly to the club. Very likely he left more than 20k on the table. Couture got 200k. That's market value....but again....no offers by anyone. To say they stayed for exactly 20k less is 100% pure speculation on your part. I hope so.

I'm honestly willing to give Mourtada another shot. He has a huge leg, and maybe with a full offseason and TC he can get the accuracy. A wider field doesn't impact his accuracy but our hashmarks are further out than NFL hashes so it is a different angle. Mackay has leadership aspirations. Has for a long time. The Reformers in the party have kept him out thus far and may continue to do so, but he is the party's only path to victory as I see it. Unless, Trudeau continues on his downward trajectory and is too stupid to see that he is now damaging the Liberal brand, Mackay and a moderate approach is the CPC's only path to victory. However, if Trudeau keeps gaffing at the rate he is doing so, the electorate may turn on him and elect virtually anyone to get rid of him....but that's a long shot. Pollievre is slick. I could see the CPC going with him. I know the Libs will say otherwise, but he is popular in Ontario.

It might take 230k....it might not. It really is hard to say is all I'm getting at. Every player is different and what they are willing to leave on the table to stay in a stable situation is different for every player. You say Woli, Couture, and Bighill are special cases but that represents about 25% of our guys we have re-signed....so not that special at all. Also, I think Rose, and Bailey probably left a good chunk of change on the table too to re-sign here and I expect that Bryant and Yoshi did too. I know you wanna bang the drum that the Bombers can't get players for significantly cheaper than other teams but the proof is literally in the pudding.

20k is one guys number to stay. Bighill took about a 90k cut on what he could have made to stay here. Every player is different. Some guys won't take 5 cents less than a competing offer, other guys might take 50k. Pretty insane to say that 20k is the number when dealing with individuals. I would imagine we have an offer into Lawler at around the 200k mark. He either takes it or goes to play in a football crap hole. His choice. We will be fine either way.

Not surprised Rasheed re-signed, I was honestly shocked it took this long. Probably was because of Lawler holding things up more than anything. I ran into him in the Bomber store last year and had a short conversation with him. He told me straight up, and I know all players say crap like this but it seemed very genuine, that he will either retire after a long and illustrious NFL career or he will retire a Bomber.
