I agree. If Biggie is healthy that game we are not even talking about his Grey Cup performance. It was a bad move to play him in hindsight.

Bighill still has a lot to offer our team, it just needs to be in a different more managed way now.

That could be said about any number of positions. Fact of the matter is that it is impossible for any team to roll out 24 A+ players in the starting lineup.

It is immature. Good thing no one was remotely suggesting that they not use them because they are butt ugly. A person can say they are butt ugly and not be implying players not use them on that basis.

I get that many here don't feel Biggie is as good as he used to be, and that is completely true. However, he is not nearly as bad as people here are suggesting. Is it time that we look for an alternative? Probably, because he will likely continue to decline. However, suggesting he couldn't make another team's PR or isn't a top10 MLB in this league is nonsense. The guy is now just an average MLB. He is neither an asset nor a liability. He has gone from MOP to average. Average isn't terrible though.

For sure. I got no issues with any player who makes the conscious decision to protect themselves against brain injuries. I just wish they could make them look a little better.

If Biggie is off the books long term he most certainly does have the cap space. Yes, that pesky all star award was a mirage. Even though it wasn't his best ever season or anything, the guy is easily still in the top half of the league as a MLBer. EASILY. Don't believe that...fine...but the guys he plays against think enough of him to name him the CFLPA all star. That may have been somewhat a reputation accolade but I am 100% certain they didn't vote a guy outside the top 10 as their choice of all star.

Not to mention they look stupid.

Or even take a look a FA's if Biggie is going to miss significant time. Kyrie at MLB has served us well in the past though. He wasn't awful, he just wasn't MOP calibre anymore. Biggie still excels in aspects of his game, but he is no longer an every situation dominant MLB anymore.

I completely and 100% agree. IF Bighill has an injury that will keep him out any length of time there is still time to get on the horn and bring in a dozen IMPs that would do better than Gauthier. It is a massive downgrade, let's not pretend it isn't. Bighill wasn't at the top of his game last year, and probably never will be again, but suggesting that Bighill/Gauthier is a wash is a gross exaggeration.

I can't remember who said it, Brendan Taman maybe but for sure an ex-CFL GM, that the hardest part of recruiting talent for the CFL wasn't finding good players it was convincing them to come to Canada after you find them.

I think economic/government service area is a big factor as well. A city like Brandon will service another 50-60k in nearby population, same with Thompson as the hub of the North. Whereas cities like Steinbach do not service much surrounding population because of proximity to Winnipeg. I know that was hugely important to food franchises when i was looking at opening up a franchised restaurant in Thompson some years back.

I'm thinking he doesn't want to go out as a cheater and I think the only way the CFLPA will appeal your case is if you are an active player.

Exactly right. Barker was a principle player in the recruitment of Kelly. Put his reputation as an evaluator of talent on the line by bringing in a known headcase. There really is an extreme bias from Barker anytime he talks about the Argos, a team he had a lot to do with building, and a management team that he worked with extremely closely.

Not to mention he was part of the Argos organization until last year, is very close to this personally, and is a Pinball bootlicker because of that.

I agree. Kramdi gets crapped on, and I'm not sure why. I thought he was pretty decent once he settled in. I agree with that as well. However, Kramdi did take the job from an underperforming Darby, so they were willing to make that change. I would hope if Cole looks better than Kramdi they would do the same. I think Kramdi could be a very useful rep taker in our secondary when needed. I don't even mind him competing at S really, better back up plan than Hallett imo.

In a perfect world you don't, but there may be times when a guy needs to tape a finger or something, or gasses out and needs to miss a snap.
