  1. Manitoba legislation allows an incorporated urban municipality with a population over 7500 to incorporate as a city if it so chooses.
  2. Or ignore the people who feel like they need to drag their own personal ideologies and political nonsense into every thread because they are butthurt that those threads were taken away from them. Totally agree. I would support the mods just simply deleting them so we don't open up these kind of derailing tangents in the football threads.
  3. I mean, this is a football forum. Let's stick to that and not start tripping over each other's political ideologies while doing so. Nothing good ever comes out of that.
  4. I would bet big money on it. TEP in 07, and OB a couple years before that for me.
  5. Dear Lord this thread is getting dragged down the rabbit hole of politics. Please people do better. JBR my post above has nothing to do with you, I don't know why your text box appeared on it and it won't let me delete it. I think i tried quoting you on something yesterday and can't post anything on this thread without your text box appearing from my abandoned post yesterday. My apologies.
  6. Exactly right. Barker was a principle player in the recruitment of Kelly. Put his reputation as an evaluator of talent on the line by bringing in a known headcase. There really is an extreme bias from Barker anytime he talks about the Argos, a team he had a lot to do with building, and a management team that he worked with extremely closely.
  7. Not to mention he was part of the Argos organization until last year, is very close to this personally, and is a Pinball bootlicker because of that.
  8. I agree. Kramdi gets crapped on, and I'm not sure why. I thought he was pretty decent once he settled in. I agree with that as well. However, Kramdi did take the job from an underperforming Darby, so they were willing to make that change. I would hope if Cole looks better than Kramdi they would do the same. I think Kramdi could be a very useful rep taker in our secondary when needed. I don't even mind him competing at S really, better back up plan than Hallett imo.
  9. In a perfect world you don't, but there may be times when a guy needs to tape a finger or something, or gasses out and needs to miss a snap.
  10. We don't have the talent or the depth to go with an all NAT interior. There is zero chance of that happening. Maybe the occasional snap here or there to get some guys breathers but right now all we have is rotational NATs. Fatboi can't start he doesn't have the wind, Lawson maybe, but right now those are about the only guys we got capable of taking more than a few reps a game without being a liability.
  11. Yep. I would say for sure Pinball had to have some difficult conversations with his bosses the last couple days.
  12. Having 4 picks in the 2nd round was helpful for sure.
  13. I wonder if that happened when he got trucked by Bailey?
  14. Let's hope all the draftees this year exceed expectations and/or end up here.
  15. If I were a wagering man I would suggest that after all the media uproar about Kelly being there, some tall forehead at MLSE phoned Pinball and asked him WTF were you thinking.
  16. It's hard to label any draft pick a mistake really. At the end of the day you are rolling the dice that they will realize their upside. Some do...some don't. Last year was a very weak draft so teams had to stretch that concept even further. As you have noted, we didn't bypass any blue chippers by all accounts.
  17. I think systemic rot within the Argo organization has been out of full display for several years now despite protests to the contrary by Bluto. Something in his physical must have had them running for the hills I would think. Or maybe he just said I don't want to be in the CFL anymore?
  18. Could be among many other things. Yep, I am sure the Bombers will use the promo money for run shoulders with sponsors/sponsors clients, autograph signings at the store, doing Bomber commercials etc. etc.
  19. The fact he is gone bodes well for us I would think. Obviously we got NATs way more worthy of a roster spot in the coaching and mgmts opinion.
  20. Yes, but you still have to have the strength to be able to get off your block in the run game, and at least be able to push your OT back or at least maintain your ground so that the opposing QB doesn't have a huge escape gap. He couldn't even do that.
  21. Bad picks happen, the Bombers didn't hang onto him out of ego though. Mistake corrected. He had some upside IF he added 25 lbs of muscle. The Bombers should not have rolled the dice that he would do so at his age. In fairness with all the covid effect on the draft, last year's draft class was abysmal all around. A guy like Bennett in any other year is maybe a late 3rd round pick.
  22. I think it was a matter of body size but tomatoes tomahtoes. Bennett just got completely manhandled last year. I don't think his skill level was a problem but if you don't have the strength you don't have the strength.
  23. Bennett was an undersized pick that basically needed to get some muscle on his bones. I am thinking the Bombers gave him a timeline to do that or they were gonna cut bait and he didn't git er dun.
  24. I just can't see them getting full value on Hardrick's contract at this point of his career even if he will bring huge locker room upside. How in god's green earth is Logan Ferland worth 194k? That one blew me away. That guy is a pylon...actually that is an insult to pylons.
  25. All parties would have to include Kelly himself I would think, and I would think that Kelly would want to be there for the optics of maintaining innocence. I do not envy the Argos position here, either alienate your franchise QB or come off looking like a heel. I think the former is the morally correct choice from an overall perspective, but from a purely football franchise standpoint they went with the latter. Unfortunate.
