I have zero doubt that within the next 2-3 years you guys will accumulate approximately that amount of wins. -
I don't think there is an untouchable spot on the PR for draft picks. I have looked over the CFL rules and cannot find any reference to that. Do you know what section and clause of the rules it is?
-
I would like Spooner ahead of Couture in my best case scenario too. Having Bond, Spooner, and Chungh as your Junkyard dogs would scare the bejeezus out of other teams. However, at this point and time the reality is that Couture is ahead of Spooner.
-
It's worth a lot imo. He was brought in to compete at OT and made the team at that position. His move to OG has been very successful, but in a pinch I think it's been clearly demonstrated he is a capable OT.
-
Was an active member at OB until 2006 when TEP was created. I left shortly after it's creation to get away from Nate. Colin was always a very nice man and I am saddened that OB is no more. Hope Colin keeps coming around the forums to share his thoughts.

Last year against Ottawa Hardrick went down in the first Q and we moved Bond over to RT and he played well. Hardrick returned in the 4th Q. I just watched it the other day. It's one of the only Bomber games still on youtube from last year.
-
Bond played some time at RT last year and was excellent. In the case of an injury I would bump him out to RT and insert Couture at LG without hesitation.
-
Imo, we will take the first part of TC to take a look at Spooner, and Inzandt. If both survive past that point it's because Neufeld is a dead man walking the green mile.
-
You must have read that on Riderfans....along with predictions that he will be their starting QB. Truth is we LET him become a FA. If he is a QB were really intent on keeping him we would have made sure he was not on the PR at season's end.
-
I heard they cut him after they found out his name didn't match his personality. They were looking for recruits that had actually committed crimes and were not named after them.
-
True. Mulumba would be an awesome get in the next couple years as the heir apparent to Westerman.
-
That would be great if Couture were ready for that role. I have a hunch that Spooner may surprise as well.
-
Like I said, I understand the reasons why he took Gray where he did. Just saying that it is folly to suggest it doesn't carry a big risk to end up being a blown pick.
-
In a league where a team rich in NATs can be decimated in the course of a year due to FA and vastly increased NFL interest in NAT players the comparison is apt....if you use your brain. Fluidity of roster is not a luxury in this league anymore. First round gambles are first round gambles no matter what your roster looks like today because next year we may lose significant NAT talent. I wish I could take as myopic a viewpoint as you are willing to do.
-
I hope you're right...and that obviously is the gamble that Walters is taking. However, until this happens this pick is no better than our pick of Mulumba a few years ago, who everyone thought would be back by now too. Mack gets roasted constantly for that pick by some who are hailing the Gray pick as a wise choice. Just saying...

You have to throw in today's revelation that the Als are cheaters because they released some players and the Riders would be fined for doing that. lmao -
I'm not backing anyone. I liked the Gray pick and understand the reasons behind it. However, that does not make it any less of a risk. Trying to portray it as a pick that has no potential to be a blown pick is just plain false. Walters rolled the dice that Gray will be back...hopefully he is...but if he never comes back then he blew a first round pick. At this point and time, Gray is a first round pick of ours that we do not have under contract. Simple as that. The reasons are irrelevant because the cost was the same. Would any BC Lion fans say that Danny Watkins was not a wasted first round pick? I doubt it.

I think there were very few people on the Bomber forums who voiced their dislike of Mike Kelly more than I did, and you pretty much nailed it as to why. A Grade A jerk. -
There is a certain first round player that is not under contract to us yet. His availability is irrelevant. He is our first round pick and he is not signed by us. That is what you call facts Aards...not some convoluted reach around to try make Walters look better. We all know he is in the NFL. However, if we never get him under contract then Walters will have effectively wasted a first round pick. Therefore, saying we have all our draft picks signed is incorrect. We don't, and the merit of picking Gray at 8 will depend on whether he comes back or not.
-
I'm not sure. I can't recall when that happened tbh. Not that any of this matters anyhoo....we have Sukh extended and that's all that matters.
-
You're not wrong, but your post swims in an ocean of irony coming from you. After all, you were the one dancing around the maypole on the corner of Sunshine and Lollipop Lane two years ago singing at the top of your lungs how great and misunderstood our team was at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 for all of us, but it shouldn't be for you because you have constantly told us there would never be any need for it from you.
-
Could have been as simple as a miscommunication. Could be that they extended him as well, although it would be irregular for a team not to announce that for a player of his stature.
-
He did report that. Obviously his report was incorrect. It happens.
-
I could care less if Richards has played teams or not to this point, nor do I care how many receptions he's had so far. What I care about is whether he is healthy enough to contribute consistently, and whether his trajectory is still going up, and whether the coaches feel there is unrealized but attainable upside to explore. What he has done to this point is irrelevant.
