For sure. Both forums have things to offer that are quite different. That is why I post at both. This place is a little looser with the moderation and members are allowed to sort things out themselves but it can be merciless to those just learning the game and the pace is slower, on TEP the pace is much faster but you have to weed through stuff a lot more.

Gaitor was getting paid a pittance really. I am thinking he wanted to go back to SAM and hope he could parlez that into a more lucrative extension this offseason. When that went off the table he decided to stay home with his new fiance and try to force his release. Maybe he has designs on the XFL?

Zach has been literally playing the same play book with about the exact same level of success as when Matt was starting. Just earlier in the season we weren't deploying a two QB punch yet. I have little doubt that if Matt had stayed healthy that in the back half of the season that we would have started prepping for the two QB tandem for the playoffs. I really, earnestly, believe this was the plan all along and when Matt went down we went into survival mode for a while until we could find another game manager QB. Like it or not this boring O was the plan all along, and it was the plan because it works in the colder weather.

I have a different view on our offence than most. I really think that in the past 2-3 years that our offence and personnel have been built to win cold weather games in the playoffs. I know a lot of people don't love that strategy because in July when we are running the ball 30 times a game it seems odd. However, when you look at the complete dismantling we put on a very good Calgary run defence, it was mainly because the execution level of our running game is at a much higher level than everyone else. The dink and dunk ball control is putrid in July but often is the only thing that works in November and our team practices it and perfects it all year long. On defence, our yardage given up through the air is always poor but run defence, DL, and LBer pursuit are top notch. These are the things that win playoff games if we execute them well. I have no issues whatsoever with the game plan employed this weekend. It was a systematic dismantling of Calgary's O and D. Our strengths came to the forefront because what our strengths are always do in November in the playoffs. I will say it again, we are a team and scheme well designed for playoff success. It has taken a while to get there, but I like our chances against anybody this year if we simply execute what we've been doing all year long. Boring...sure...but if it is a recipe for Grey Cup success I'm good with that.

That's why I put it up Mark, just trying to give you a chance for you to clear the air. FTR, I have been a long time member at both sites and enjoy the forum community of both sites. Each has their own individual redeeming qualities. It is unfortunate that on the occasion that many lost their forum and came looking for a new one after a big playoff win that the message they were met with was an attack on their football IQ. Most of the guys like Goldmember etc were original members at TEP, many with post totals in the tens of thousands over there. You can see how they might take an attack on the intelligence level of that forum personally. As a long time member here I know that is not your or Rich's intent so I am glad you have taken the time to let the guys, who don't know who the alpha dogs are, know what this forum's real thoughts are.

I would imagine many will go back to TEP the moment it goes back up, but depending on how many are discouraged by being called 2nd rate here, a lot would prefer to frequent both sites.

No they are not. They are just more familiar for you. The football IQ is every bit as high at TEP. Does TEP have more fan boys...sure...I'll give you that. Because the traffic is much higher at TEP you get a lot of new, and fringe posters and this forum does have a much better mechanism for discouraging dumb posts but it is massively incorrect to assume that people here know more than over there. There are many great and knowlegable posters at TEP.

I hope that Hervey shows up in Saskatchewan during WF week and has some casual conversations with members of the Rider coaching staff. The irony of the situation would be too much. Maybe make coach Dicky an offer of HC and AGM as a promotion. Wouldn't that make Rider fans heads explode. They loved it when the RIders did it too Hervey....called him a big baby for complaining. There is nothing 80's about how teams are currently running the ball. It's not like we are running out of the I formation with a fulltime FB.

His net average is not impressive at all. He can kick far down the middle of the field...that's it. Regina gives up the most PR yards because of it and the most rouges. Ryan is actually a liability imo. Just goes to show how little the media actually knows about the game.
