Nic Demski wears a BiueBomber shirt under his Rider jersey. If we want him to come home all we have to do is make him an offer when his contract expires.
-
Reports yesterday were that they were very close to a deal. We'll know today I guess.
-
I think you are mistaken. He was picked up by the Riders in 2014...and played very well for them and then Calgary afterwards. Definitely has to be considered one of the better signings by Taman. He will garner a lot of interest.

Missed the presser. Any mention of Moore?
-
Me too. That would be highway robbery.

Bombers Sign Macho Harris and DL Sheyon Green

So was Bob Wylie. -
Cobourne coached last year and did a great job.

I would hope we don't burn an IMP at OG until Neufeld gets hurt in game 2 or 3. I think our draft will see us taking to NI OL with our first two picks. I am not sure what we do on the DL but I am positive that after FA it will look somewhat different. The BlueBomber official and CFL official rosters on their respective websites both list Westerman.

Not sure how that could be? The kitchen is literally right in the middle of the boxes. It couldn't possibly be placed any better for them in my estimation. I have frequented the odd game in the boxes and the food service was excellent.

So far the Bombers have the best offer on the table. It is a fair offer and is fiscally responsible for the Bombers, but it hasn't knocked Dressler's socks off. Therefore, he is waiting to see if there are any better offers first. All of this is not that hard to figure out, nor is it a sign that we have lost out on Dressler.

If you are referring to the stadium, then that is not a deficit. It could become a deficit if the stadium falls down or something, but is not a deficit at this point and time because the Bomber's share of the stadium has to be considered an asset. One could make the argument that the interest is a deficit, I suppose, if you were to argue that the stadium represents no earning potential.
-
But do we vote on them after nomination? Not that I am aware of. If we can please let me know how and I retract.
-
By your parameters, and I'm not saying they are correct, we easily offer the most in 3 of your 4 top criteria. We will probably offer Dressler the most money, the best geography for him, and the best on field opportunity. This is who this discussion is about, after all.

I wish that our BOD appointments operated more like other community owned teams. I would like to see the Bombers sell shares to the fanbase and then allow shareholders to cast votes on potential new BOD members. Elections occurring every 2 years for half the board. It would give the fans some say over a BOD and it would be a great fundraising tool for the team. Shares could be incorporated into season ticket prices or be a separate option when buying season tickets, as well as available at the Bomber store for those that are not season ticket holders.
-
I am thinking it means the Bombers are either not his first pick to play for, or that our offer is the highest but Dressler is surprised he couldn't get more and is waiting for someone to pony up.
-
Not true. We had a poor offence but our defence also ranked near last in points surrendered. Since they are taking combined points of games, it stands to reason that our defence helped drive up the opposition's point totals enough to make up for our lack of scoring.
-
There is no way they will release him if he doesn't pass his physical. They've already paid him a 250k signing bonus on the new deal.

Is the theory recruiting receiving should be ''easy'' a myth?
GCn20 replied to Blueandgold's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yea, In Edmonton he struggled to get on track right away, and despite playing better for them after a while, they sent him to the Riders who never really gave him a shot. He did play in the playoffs for them in 2012 and was their best receiver that day....but he was pulling down big bucks so they moved on. Lapo knew how to use him....he should have stayed a Bomber, it would probably have been different for him if he had. -

I agree. Both Carr and TJH have produced far more for us than any receiver we have seen from this current regime. Mack also found that guy we lost to Ottawa in the expansion draft that put up nice numbers for them a couple years ago. Name escapes me at the moment. Edit: Wallace Miles -
Most Rider fans are bandwagonners that jumped on around 2007. They have no perspective on what a bottom-up rebuild is. Jones will lose this year and Riderfans will scream bloody murder. It's the Rider fan way.
-
I agree. Jones didn't have much talent on that roster to begin with....now it's as bleak as a prairie snow storm. Ottawa had better talent after the expansion draft than the Riders have right now. Letting go of the heart and soul of Riderland will not play out well when this team is 5 games below .500 .....and it's looking like they will be. So far, half the team has been released and Mo Price and Shawn Lemon, have replaced Chick/Dressler. That's a downgrade in talent no matter how you slice it. They may need to do this for cap reasons, but it didn't make their team any better....and they were already an abomination. I know it's early in the offseason, and early in the rebuild, but this team is in need of talent infusion that I don't think the best of the best could pull off in one offseason.

Hold up. Maybe you were unaware but certainly a lot of Rider fans at the time were aware of Dressler's salary. In the Weston Dressler signs thread recently dug up on Riderfans, in the first couple of pages there is links to media reports that Dressler signed a 4 year/$1 million deal. This is followed by about 500 posts of people congratulating Taman for getting the deal done and calling Dressler a bargain at ANY price. These same posters are now "shocked" and "outraged" by his salary. C'mon man....it was right there in black and white from the beginning. I know Rider fans math is poor, but 4 years at a million means he was going to make 250k per. That's why we're laughing at you, because even though the numbers were reported at the time, in typical Rider fashion those numbers got "softened" over time so that the Riders didn't look as incompetent as they are.
-
He is the best in the CFL, the heart and soul of the CFL and worth every penny while he is a Rider, once he stopped being a Rider he is overpaid, old, on the decline, and a turncoat for not accepting a massive pay cut. John Chick? Nope....every Rider player ever released.
-
You Rider fans are really in your own world sometimes. Why do you guys think that a football player can only set up for life after football if they play in Regina? You guys give no player any more ability to be successful after their career than many other CFL cities. Just a big fat myth you guys perpetuate in order to justify your beliefs that Regina is the ultimate destination in the CFL.

Rumour: Wylie to join Browns New HC Hue Jackson as Oline Coach
GCn20 replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This isn't even a rumor as the thread title suggests. Just Madani thinking out loud and offering his opinion. Absolutely no basis to it at all.
