  1. Fair enuff. Sorry took offense to your wording and appreciate the clarification
  2. Some people see what they wanna see. Don't give me this crapola about anyone disagreeing with your take not having football knowledge. That is pure bullshit and an absolutely garbage way to conduct a discussion on a forum. I have played and coached football at a high enough level to know what I am talking about. You are not the only guy on here with football experience. No one is suggesting that JT isn't a problem, what some of us are saying is that you seem awfully fixated on one roster player being the root of all evil. Perhaps it is you that has lost perspective? Have you ever considered that? For two years now you have been suggesting that the rostering at the bottom of our game day depth chart outweighs the positives of MOS's coaching overall and that my friend is just plain bias on your part because that assessment isn't coming with any kind of football acumen behind it. If that is not what you are saying then why the 2 year long circle jerk about it? Yes, JT got way more reps last year than he should have. No one is disagreeing. What you always and conveniently never take into consideration is that injury was the main reason for a lot of them. Look...We ALL agree that MOS has some negative coaching habits, Just not going to dwell on them because he is outstanding in so many other areas that it makes up for his weaknesses. Good gravy man....hearing you talk about MOS one would think he stole your wife. Not good at all.
  3. I just don't see a universe where Jake outplays Lawson for the vast majority of reps this year. Last year was easy for Osh to give the reps to JT. there was no proven commodity behind him. This year, it would be near impossible knowing what we know about Lawson's ability.
  4. I get your worry, but I just can't see it happening.
  5. Yep there were a multitude of calamities particularly in the first half of the season. I though everything tightened up a lot better by the midway point. For sure. A big part of that was O scheme too.
  6. If he is used as he was last year very problematic, however, context is everything. Last year we lost Lawson in TC leaving too many reps for Jake.
  7. Nope not all pressures and sacks are on the OL. However, last year we saw an inordinant amount of average to below average OL play.
  8. Last year he had more pressure on him than all the other years combined.
  9. Meh...I guess BC must see something in him...not sure what.
  10. Sorry I meant to include a return of Lawler to that group as I just feel it's going to happen.
  11. I agree with you on JT. Last year's injury to Lawson really threw him into way more reps than he should have had.
  12. Mitchell, Schoen, Demski, Clercius, Lawler, White and the return of WIlson is as good as it gets in this league. This would give us ample skill starting and ample depth with a 5 IMP option as well when needed.
  13. It's all very doable now, hopefully Walters has taken off his handcuffs and will put pen to paper on some talent.
  14. In any other year I totally agree that 275 is an over pay. This is our GC hosting year. I am not against over paying/exceeding the cap this year to get our cup on home soil. For that reason I want KW to bring in difference makers. He hasn't done so yet and Lawler would be a great start.
  15. I hope our scouting has one more Dalton waiting in the wings. For sure. Just saying that we have seen a couple of our new guys with other teams but not sure who is on their recruitment record. If all you value out of receivers is yardage then you have a point. Lewis and Lawler get paid for being game breakers. I guess that is what the GMs around the league value more.
  16. Yea...we are not far off from having a really good DL. Our scouting group has vastly changed. Not sure what they are good at right now. Always happens and all he has signed so far from us he can have.
  17. I'm still hoping for us to circle back to Lawler. Just feels right.
  18. Lawler's agent told the Bombers he won't be back based on our offer. You don't see how adding half a million to the SMS might change what our offer is? You don't think changing our offer might get Kenny to stay? I would much rather chase McEwan or Couture than to try get Dobson re-signed. BOLO would be a nice add as well.
  19. The difference is they can't talk to him again unless he declines both teams offers and goes to FA Yep..technically Kenny Lawler is under contract with the Bombers right now.
  20. Why would Lawler talking to us surprise you? He would be an idiot not to do so if we called. No he doesn't have to accept our offer, but he probably would if the dollars are the same. Kenny went for the money but if we had offered it to him he would be here. Everything he's ever said about the Bombers backs that up.
  21. Let's say Lawler gets a call from Walter's and he matches Hammy's offer in the 48 hour window. Hamilton CANNOT talk to Lawler again unless he opts to become a FA.
  22. It is all very strange and hard to believe for sure. Whether GMs knew or didn't know the timing of the announcement is super weird. I just don't get why today?
  23. Yesterday it was. Today? I'm not as sure on that.
  24. My bad...2 hours...but we have the last 48 hours as an exclusive negotiating time with any of our pending FAs prior to that. It is my understanding that accepted terms with another team means that they may leave if they can't get their former team to sign them at the terms they want. Undoubtedly some players have no interest in returning to their former clubs, but I think a few will definitely pick up the phone for their former teams and see if there has been movement. I would almost guarantee that if Walters picks up the phone in that window and says "Kenny we found some extra SMS and will match Hammy's offer" that Kenny will say send me over the contract. Conversely, I could definitely see a few guys phoning the league at 10 am on FA day and saying never mind I'm going to try out FA now.
  25. No one has signed anything, and this pre-FA window is set up so that players and teams can do exactly that. They are not signed by their new team until they advise the CFL one hour prior to FA that they accept the offer that was made. This week before FA, is about players being able to test their worth on the market and for GMs to have an idea what that worth is. Nobody has moved teams yet. All CFL teams have an exclusive 48 hour window prior to 10am on FA opener in order to secure their own FA's that have accepted or not accepted other offers. It is literally what this week is for. No one should pencil in any player to any team until the gun goes off on FA. If we were to hypothetically go back to Lawler and say we will match Hammy's offer and he decides to stay, that is EXACTLY how this week is supposed to work and why it was implemented.
