I do know that Lawler would have stayed if we offered him the same as Hammy so it can't be a player(s) not wanting to be here necessarily because that's one big fish we could have easily kept. Just can't get a feel for what Walters is doing right now. Maybe his pipeline is telling him that a couple NFL guys are just TCF and he's waiting on that?

For sure. The Bombers were able to exploit a Rider weakness. The Argos exploited our weak pass pro.

Riders made lots of mistakes, but you still have to recognize them and execute to capitalize. That's the difference between winning and losing in almost every football game. The amount of times you commit/force errors and amount of times you capitalize on them. What led to our inability to pass in the GC was unrelenting pressure from the Argos DL and a game plan that was not designed to get the ball out of our QBs hands.

Collaros was one of a great deal of players that have **** the bed in the past 3 Grey Cups. Some far worse than Collaros. We absolutely have to be thinking about our next QB all the time, no matter what. Zac won't carry our team to a Grey Cup. Never did before either. We need to give him the tools to succeed.

We will find out what kind of hawks we have now. Jim Jauch is pretty much considered one of the best receiver bird dogs out there, and has brought in some good talent for the Lions DesLauriers will be our NAT guy primarily. He and Walters will be scouting the CIS a lot. Not much of a resume for DesLauriers yet and this may be the biggest area of concern from last year. This was Goveia's wheelhouse with the Bombers. Brock Sunderland was well regarded enough as a recruiter of talent to earn himself an assistant GM job followed by a GM chance. He is a horrible GM.....but the man has an undeniable eye for talent. Honestly, the trio we picked up is probably far better at IMP recruitment than the duo we lost but KW is going to have to dust off his scouting hat again for us to keep pace at NAT recruitment.

Don't bother. Bringing up his good games won't change anyone's mind. They watched a masterful performance in the West final but chose to ignore it. They watched an Argos DL completely dominate our OL in last year's Grey Cup and an OC completely refuse to alter the game plan when it happened....but it's on Zac. They watched Zac turn his game around the entire 2nd half of the season and be the best QB in the league in the 2nd half of the season but choose to focus on the first 6 games where our OL was swiss cheese and our receivers didn't know the playbook. Zac still has more than enough game to win us a Grey Cup this year. Can he win it alone? Nope. Gonna need help....all QBs do.

This is Walters time of year. He is 100% responsible for who we keep, who we lose, and who we sign. Your hatred of MOS in this knows no bounds. This time of year is 100% on the GM. Once TC open then it's on the HC. No HC is going to ever tell his GM that we good. He will want all the talent the GM can find/sign then sort them out in TC.

We may have to go 3 IMP OL, and I am Ok with that. Randolph represents a massive upgrade to Dobson. If Wallace is good enough to beat out Randolph I will be tickled pink. Would like the Bombers to still pick up a solid NAT OL for insurance though. 8th could be FB like in past years or we use a NAT safety. Another option is nationalized IMPs. Dyson.

Back to back MOP and highest rated QB in 2023. Yep..we didn't need him. Yep. Last year wasn't a great year but he was the best QB by just about every statistically relevant category in the last half of the season. Was the highest rated QB in 2023, and back to back MOPs the two years before that. I will entertain the notion that he may be on the down slope, and that his playoff performances are at best average but the revisionist history about his over all contribution to this 5 year run we are on is kind of mind boggling.

We should cut him. To hell with the Grey Cup.

Ford is the next Dirty Sanchez as far as NAT DBs go.....but it really is hard to justify 200k+ on a DB...doesn't matter what passport they have.

Spot on the field in combination with our backfield defensive scheme make a lot of our guys shine. Ford is impressive though.

McEwen would have been a nice get. We need a NAT OL. Dobson is no loss to our starting calibre of play but hurts our depth because Wallace will be a starter now.

You are welcome to your opinion, and who knows you might be right. If we regress this season, I may join you in this opinion. Just not willing to do so yet as we have won our division 5 straight years.

Not trying to be an ass, just clarifying what your position is on MOS. You think he should be fired. That's your opinion and you are welcome to it. Just so that it is clear to me, and everyone else, what the motivation for your criticism is, I do not feel Osh is the sole reason for our success at all, far from it. I just feel we would not be able to upgrade on him and I feel he and Walters have done an excellent job together in building quality football teams. If you think MOS's time has expired with our team, that certainly is a possibility. I just don't believe that a coach necessarily has an expiry date. I believe players do and that the coach needs to recognize that, but I also can see the logic in a coach being loyal to guys and how that can help the locker room and recruitment/retention. Either way it's a balancing act for sure, but one that can be maintained even if the scale tips one way or the other occasionally. At the end of the day, the players still speak glowingly of him, play very hard and disciplined for him, and the culture and locker room is strong. I guess I'm not seeing the end of the road yet, as you are. That's not me being chicken little or in denial, that's just my opinion based off results year over year. You see some mistakes he is making and think they outweigh the positives, I see mistakes he is making and think they do not outweigh the positives, there really is no definitive winner of this argument. It's solely opinion on both our parts and we are both entitled to them is all I'm saying. Neither of us can prove each other wrong, nor do I feel the need to do so on my part. You will bring up the negatives of MOS, I will bring up the positives, it's the ying and the yang of this forum's discussion about him I guess.

Yea...that's an understatement for sure. Still time and some good players out there but so far we have been hunting bargains.

Ayers is under contract and the NFL window is now closed for players under contract I believe., He should be back.

It has been a less than ideal FA period this year so far, but the nice thing is that it is only February. Lots of time to make hay, and we should have the money to do it. Like the year Bighill fell into our lap late in the offseason, I am hoping for a big impact signing like that out of nowhere. Maybe it doesn't happen, but until TC opens we don't know what our team is for sure. Yea....I'm not going to crap on what we did sign. Some quality depth pieces there. However, we do need a few pieces for sure to round things out.

You keep saying you think Osh is a great coach and that you never said he should be fired, then talk out your ass like that. Which is it? Pick a lane. If you think he should be fired say so. At least it will be honest. If you think he should not be fired why make a comment like that one?
