  1. Strev would have been both a MASSIVE add for them on the field and for their culture. I am sure glad he came home. He is going to have our guys fired up. Easily the best 120k we've spent in FA in a long time.
  2. I don't blame them for not doubling down on Dolegala. Doubling down on Harris and Fine is just a complete mess waiting to happen tho. I am absolutely mind boggled that with Brown and Strev on the market that they made no play for these guys. Harris is a band aid at best. The only way this even remotely has any logic in my mind is if they feel that Rourke will come back and set in motion a better QB domino effect for them than this offseason. Unlikely.
  3. He's never been awful. Inconsistent and easy to rattle once hit...for sure. Injury prone...yep. Advanced in age...no doubt about it. Me neither. Keep up the great work JOD!!
  4. I would love nothing more than to keep Brady with a raise to a fair contract. However, our ability to replace him effectively puts a cap on that number that is far lower than the numbers the media is throwing around. If Brady can get what he wants elsewhere all the power to him, but anything more than 200k is in the realm of stupid contract for a RB. Anything more than 180k for us, would also probably qualify as the same.
  5. Jones definitely should never be counted out of any potential stupid contract signing for sure. However, he has Brown who might be even better than Brady.
  6. I can't see us letting a talent like Schoen go without throwing a very big number at him to stay. Guys like Schoen don't come around often. He is a legit top of the league receiver that has barely scratched the surface of his career. He is a unicorn when it comes to replacing him and what he brings to an offence.
  7. I think he was referring to the impact of losing Brady on the brand.
  8. He was never paid 235k here. Considering Bailey signed for 85k last year I very highly doubt we go higher than 100k for him.
  9. I think Lucky as returner 6th receiver might be good if Janarion is gone.
  10. Part of my RB requirements is that they are a good RB, so I'll take a pass on Morrow.
  11. I wouldn't mind Lucky here as a returner and occasional receiver IF we can't re-sign Grant.
  12. I see no risk at all. Even the average fan understands the parameters of a cap world in sports. The only risk to the Bombers is if they severely lowballed him and he went public with that....and even then it would be like Harris. People outraged for a day or two then flocking to the stadium in droves to watch us win.
  13. BC has some big fish to re-sign as well for sure.
  14. I hope you are right. We can pretty effectively replace Brady's output in FA or recruiting. Schoen's are extremely hard to find anywhere.
  15. Having 2 high priced receivers is a lot easier to hide in your positional SMS than having a 250k running back. Exactly...and Milt was not from here. People in Winnipeg or elsewhere aren't buying Brady jersey's, they are buying Bomber jerseys and then deciding to have Brady on it. Sure he's popular but if he's gone the fans will simply pick another Bomber fave. Winning sells jerseys not saving dogs. I see a lot of BO, Demski jerseys but not any more than I see Collaros, Willie J jerseys.
  16. I can see a number of teams going hard after Schoen if we don't lock him up. I think Schoen goes to Winnipeg Blue Bombers....unfinished business.
  17. We all have the same amount of dollars to spend. Where the GC is doesn't really matter. I expect that BC will spend to the cap and so will just about every other team.
  18. Let it rip....we will also be going all in with the Grey Cup there this year, Hearing he his getting a bump and an extension.
  19. Kinda feel the same but am confident that if we do get into trouble that Walter's will get us out. Therefore, I want ZC over Brown because he is still our best shot at winning the Grey Cup. I think Strev is a big locker room add that would help offset the loss of Yoshi as well. That being said I want Yoshi back but not with any significant raise. If that means Richmond I can live with that no problem.
  20. We shall see who will stay and who will go I guess. Right now it looks like Miller's 150k, and Jeffcoat's 190k are off the books for sure. That's some savings there. We will need more.
  21. The issue for Streveler is that he is an awesome force of nature in his package of plays but he has never demonstrated that he is surefire starter material and has been away from the CFL for a few years. I am sure he will get some reps this year to make that case. To be the man you have to beat the man. I am sure that the Bombers would love nothing more than if Eli did that.
  22. That's my thinking as well. As long as we didn't pay him much up front I see no reason for anybody being upset by it.
