  1. I don't underestimate any teams silliness in FA. However, teams that want to blow their brains out in FA won't do it for a RB...at least we have never seen that in the CFL yet. I just can't see any team paying 1 running back over 180k. Once you are in that neighborhood you are in elite DE or WR territory and teams will pivot to that if they have that much cash to spare. RBs....and I don't want to minimize the position...just are not worth 200k a year because of supply and demand. It is my firm belief that the Bombers would have absolutely no issue whatsoever with finding a RB that is 1000-1200 yards in the bank for much cheaper. I think the rest of the league feels the same. There is an upper limit to RBs, They aren't particularly difficult to replace. If Brady O isn't NAT we aren't even discussing 180-200k because it would be a 100% lock that no one would even entertain such a notion.
  2. Would be an interesting experiment for sure. Not sure how he would do as a RB, but we know he can run.
  3. No one is giving him 200k plus. RBs just aren't that valued in the CFL and Brady O is a good one, but he is also a product of our OL and commitment to the run. I think we could plug in 4-5 guys in this league and still get 1000 yards rushing easily from them.
  4. No evidence to support that they wouldn't. We have had many rookies make our lineup over the past several years. Like any other player they will have to step up and grab a job. I can't see it being North of 185k. I think Brady's head may be swelling a bit imo.
  5. I agree on Gronowski. Throws a really nice ball. Reminds me a lot of Dru Brown.
  6. Totally agree. He just doesn't have the NFL running back skills.
  7. Look at his stats over those games before calling something ridiculous. Of course a team can win with average or even below average QBing if they have a great defence. Good gravy man. We won the 88 and 90 Grey Cups with very pedestrian QBing. Cody's numbers and QB rating were the 6th best in the league over that time span. That is lower echelon Qbing any way you slice it. Their defence over that span...fantastic.
  8. Yes, one good game or bad game does not erase an entire body of work. Even bad QBs have a good game once in a while, and great QBs have a bad game....neither makes one the other.
  9. Yea,,.for sure. NFL teams have a ton of politics surrounding their QB position.
  10. Jeckyl and Hyde defence they had over there. Not impressed either.
  11. I agree that playcalling was awful. Our coordinators were out coached. No excuse for players making mental errors tho.
  12. For sure. Once a player gets a game or two from qualifying it becomes really tough for them to get rostered. It's where a lot of guys get cut and out of the league.
  13. I'm sure Jones would love to have him. CBSA likely will have something to say about it now.
  14. I guess we should be careful not to tip JOD off about his talent deficiencies. By now I am sure he has realized he does not have a hot clue and is probably scouring the internet for ideas on what to and how to fix his team. Based on the historical evidence that 100% backed up by his teams performance, this forum is probably one of, if not the best sources for a highly accurate assessment of his team and I am not even joking. Might sound like hubris, and it would be, if our collective assessments of his work were in hindsight or not so damn specifically and irrefutably correct. This should concern Rider fans, that their arch rival's fan forum has a better and more accurate assessment of their roster and overall on field future performance than their own GM.
  15. They have a God awful defence to fix as well. No team can fix everything in FA. Can't be done. Top 4? I don't see a single OL that starts for any other CFL team. Most teams have a better 6th OL than anyone starting on the Riders OL.
  16. Laurent carries the NAT tag and that is one of the only reasons he is still playing. He's in Jake Thomas territory career wise right now.
  17. Bane can stretch a field a bit, but it doesn't matter if all he runs is check downs. They had Begelton in Calgary last year and the guy didn't produce a thing until Mueller got demoted then he was on fire after. It just can't be understated how poorly he ran his offence in Calgary last year with far superior talent than what he will have now. If I was a Rider fan right now I would be really scratching my head at this hire, but they seem thrilled with it.
  18. Realistically this is probably the only way he doesn't get injured, but it's not going to be a rocket ship unless they find the next generational YAC guy. When you hire an OC that makes Lapo look like a big risk taker it's going to be a tough slog.
  19. What's even funnier is that for the first 8 games while Mueller was running his rocket ship last year, I don't think Maier attempted a pass beyond 8 yards. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but I do know in like 3 games preceding Mueller's demotion Maier had not attempted any passes beyond that. It's not like it was poor pass pro related either, Calgary has a pretty strong OL. It was just baffling to watch. According to Riderfans Mace was the only candidate they truly considered even though we now know he got the job by default really after Milanovich and Buck both withdrew. Rider Stronson pretends not to be, but is the biggest O'Day apologist out there. When Dickenson was hired as HC he was touting it as a master stroke pulled off by the Riders because at least 2 other teams were about to offer him their HCing job. lmao. You can't make up stuff funnier than that.
  20. Should we name it the Mueller Rocket?
  21. Marc Mueller said he is going to build a rocket ship offence around Trevor Harris this year in Regina. A ROCKET SHIP!! Last year his rocket ship was a disaster, but no worries...he will get it right this time. Riderfans are suggesting that every FA Toronto and Calgary offensive player is going to be begging to get onto Mueller's rocket ship. I've seen more passing yards watching Manchester United play than Mueller's offence last year...but hey...this year...boy o boy...rocket ship.
