  1. No doubt. Jeremy O'Day just doesn't have a clue....but hey...Corey Mace and Marc Mueller's rocket ship offence that doesn't throw beyond 4 yards will fix all the talent deficiencies they have.
  2. Yea....seems odd that BC is more worried about potatoes than heroin. Of course, I am exaggerating...but really, there are bigger problems.
  3. A great guy to have both on and off the field. How the Riders ever lowballed him is beyond me.
  4. I expect that we will try to keep the gang together as much as we can but SMS will play a part for sure.
  5. He is a Regina boy, therefore, he will 16x over rated there but yea....his offence was just awful last year and he had a much better OL than he has now.
  6. I guess it all depends on what MBTs ask is. If he wants in the 500k range I think the UFL is his best bet. Mueller says he is going to build a rocket ship offence in Regina with Harris. Is he the new Elon Musk? Building rockets that will never fly?
  7. I think we may see a couple guys with healthy salaries hang them up. I have a feeling Laurent is a Ticat until they no longer want him and he may hang them up if they don't.
  8. Definitely the price has to be right. We can't pay either guy starting NAT money. I agree. We need a NT that is more disruptive.
  9. This might be the stupidest thing I've read at this forum in a long, long time....and you are calling me hopelessly lost? SMH. There are times we are using LBers to aid the DL, and there are times we are using the DEs to help out the LBers. That is not even remotely arguable and is entirely without merit to say otherwise. I know precisely how a defence works, I coached for years and what you are saying makes absolutely no sense. Each component of the defence will have schemes where their members are helping out in assignment. Are you suggesting that WIllie never slides out into the flats to help the outside LBer? Of course he does. Hell we will sometimes go 3-4 with Willie sliding into the 4th LBer slot. Also, at no point did I say score could be reflected on one aspect of a team. What I was asking, and I thought it was pretty obvious given the context, was how many points did teams score against our defence because we like to bring Lbers to pressure the QB? There is nothing absurd about breaking that down in the context of what you were trying to claim. It does shoot a big hole in your argument though, so I get your effort to discredit my argument no matter how logical it is. You want to grade our overall team defence by one aspect, DL ability to pressure, and I say baloney to that. The only way to judge a team defence effectively is to look at the number of points they surrender. It is the gold standard of measurement in that regard. You can jump up and down about how using LBers in pressure hurts us, I say where is the proof of that. There is none. It is simply part of Hall's system and is the way we have operated for years. Hell, Hall was doing that when he was in Saskatchewan even.
  10. I just can't see Masoli getting a starting salary for next year so I think there will be movement there. No way someone pays him starting dollars or even plans around him right now. He's gonna have to go the Trevor Harris route and take back up money on a prove it contract this year.
  11. I believe they can cut him in the offseason, just not during the season with an injury. Offseason cut they would just be responsible for some of his medical.
  12. Sam Hurl has been waiting for Bighill to retire to announce his comeback, so that domino has to drop first.
  13. In order for a player to qualify for pension they must have 3 "vested" seasons. In order for a season to be vested they must be on the roster, inactive, or PUP for a minimum 3 games during that season. So no pension qualifying for Rourke next year. However, he will attain his first vested season this year which is really good for him.
  14. He then went to Saskatchewan and tried to save the province from Somali pirates and is still waiting on his Jake Gaudaur trophy for it. lol I reffed for a few years and it is a thankless job for sure.
  15. I would go with either of them equally. Whoever, costs less. Bennett is probably slightly better but we know Kongbo is FIFO and is capable.
  16. Bingo. None of what went wrong in the Grey Cup can be summed up to one thing. Some mistakes were more costly than others for sure, and in my estimation the most costly errors of the day had nothing to do with roster management, but that doesn't mean roster management didn't have some effect on the day. I am just of the firm belief that the roster we dressed that day should have/could have won that game and am not willing to assign the blame for our loss on it. Would proper roster management possibly make our game a little easier....possibly...we'll never know. All I know is that the team we fielded was certainly capable of winning that game and I have tried to point out the reasons why I believe that. My main reason for that belief is that the 3 big moments of that game that turned the tide imo were the Collaros interception, and that was on Collaros no one else, the Brady fumble which was really just a great defensive play by Montreal, and the cover 0 call at the end of the game and a few other really head scratching D play calls to be honest. I have not let the coaches off the hook at any point, I strongly believe that Buck and Hall were outperformed by their counterparts on the day. and I completely agree with the criticism of the roster management. Where I differ from 17to85 is simply in the effect of each mistake on our chances of winning.
  17. It's quite possible some of our guys were too amped as well and that can lead to costly errors. It's a fine line. Guys will over run plays, etc when that happens. I can guarantee that there isn't a single guy in the Bombers dressing room even for one second thinking that roster management or playbook prep cost them the game. They know better.
  18. Seriously? you think that the sole function of a coach is to make sure his players are focused on game day? That is literally on each player to do themselves. All a coach can do is help set up a foundation of sound preparation for the players. Nerves, road games, perhaps a very weird Grey Cup week schedule, can all have an effect on every players mental focus come game day. Some way more than others. There is little a coach can do about that other than to give advice to try mitigate those effects. When mental errors are made by veterans it isn't due to coaching or lack thereof and it happens to every player at times. The game moves fast, guys make mistakes. The best team will be the one that makes the fewest. On Grey Cup day that was Montreal. Sure. are you suggesting that players in our systems don't know their assignments? Sorry, not buying that. Guys can misread a play but to a man our defence is one of the smartest and best prepared to assignments in the league. When our guys bust it isn't because they didn't know what to do on the field. That's just silly. This is pro ball.
  19. I'm all for Kongbo or Bennett. Make it happen Kyle.
  20. I was just as surprised at being wrong as you were. Lol No..not really. You are reaching now. The only person that can make sure a player is mentally focused and physically prepared enough is the player himself.
  21. I didn't per se..just saying the chance is now zero over slim. You coming on here yet again Migs says a ton about you.
  22. Of course cracks are appearing, no one said otherwise, it's just that our cracks were small enough to not matter as much because we were that far out ahead of everyone. That being said the roster needs to be carefully looked at for diminishing returns this, and every, offseason. Yea...Willie is a top 3 DE in this league and Jeffcoat is in the tub EVERY year but is a force of nature when he's in the lineup. I agree that a decent DE rotational guy would be awesome to have. Love to see Kongbo come home.
  23. I never once stated we should run it back again. I find it weird that you are the one telling me I am making excuses when you are blaming coaching for players mental mistakes. For sure. Would love to see a couple vets shuffled out for equal younger talent. As long as they are FIFO.
  24. It's going to be a big offseason for sure. Lots of changes coming I am sure. Some good, some bad. I have full confidence that we will be a contender by the start of the year though.
  25. I'd take a young Micah Johnson over what we have.
