  1. Yea...it was definitely some rough luck on the injury front. I am disappointed that we didn't use the backups that we had dressed for sure.
  2. I just don't see him surviving for more than a few games. He is soft as butter.
  3. I wouldn't. Their commitment to Harris is a massive mistake right off the bat.
  4. Yea. Receivers can be huge in one game winner take all games.
  5. I love it. Rider fans think they just won a lottery or something, and that Mace will wave his magic wand and suddenly the locker room of poor talent and malcontents he inherited will be all stars and championship caliber just through his presence. They are completely disregarding the reality that for Mace to have any kind of hope of success he needs to be able to rebuild the roster for a couple years. Nope, every FA will all of a sudden fall in love with the dung heap that is Regina because Mace is there, and magically they will be able to shop for every position in FA and turn it around next year because that's how dynasties are built you know....FA.
  6. We just signed a couple of them. Yea...that's what I thought Mike was talking about since he posted right after that. It's the entire reason the CFL expands the PR for that 3 week window late in the season every year. Every team does it because the PR is expanded, so you look at some prospects and send them home when the PR window closes. I am unclear why WBB thinks we don't utilize that window anymore. Of course we do.
  7. Montreal's receivers had a fantastic game in the Grey Cup and made Cody look a crap ton better than how he played imo. Cody throws up a 30 yard floating duck to Mack, and he makes a tremendous adjustment and one handed catch on a ball that had no business being completed for example. I really thought that our secondary had a very poor game overall.
  8. Couple real bad times to turn the ball over though. Otherwise he played well I thought. Not great, but certainly good enough to win if we don't consistently and continually keep taking points off the board with turnovers. Richie Hall didn't call a gem of a game, neither did Buck, but if we protect the rock in the 2nd half all of Cody's numbers are garbage time numbers because we have built a lead he can't overcome. Quite likely Cody is forced to press the issue because of a multi-score lead we have and then starts turning it over himself. Cody is this generation's Kevin Glenn. Hot as a firecracker if you let him be, but get to him early and he falls completely apart. We didn't get to him early. We kept giving him man coverage, and when a QB can't throw accurately that's the best kind for them if they have good receivers.
  9. Willie J played great in BC, and was our best defensive player in the Grey Cup. If he was having inconsistency in the regular season, which is a highly debatable assessment, it was due to scheme not age. Willie might not have been MOP Willie, but he played at an all star level. Biggie as well, was chosen by his peers as the MLBer on the CFLPA all star team. I'm just gonna call a spade a spade. I think that some of us are looking at players ages and then trying to find fault based on that. Several times in the Grey Cup he tried to blitz against max protection and left us in man coverage because of it. You know, Richie can be brilliant as well. One of the best DCs out there. However, he is prone to stubborness in his play calling. Not always....but in the Grey Cup he had tunnel vision. However, his game plan and play calling in the West final was nothing short of masterful. Unfortunate, he had a bad day in the Grey Cup. So did Buck. Atrocious. I have to wonder what our Grey Cup week was like schedule wise for these coaches because they both stunk.
  10. No doubt. If the media really honestly assessed the Riders right now they would have big problems with revenue.
  11. CFL media needs to give hope to all fan bases in the offseason for the health of the league. You won't find too much honest assessment in the offseason. Season tix sales are down by 35% over last year in Rider land. I hate the Riders but that's not good for the CFL.
  12. I absolutely agree that age of some players needs to be looked at this offseason. My point was that I thought we got another darn good year from almost all our aging players this past year, not that we should count on that again.
  13. I agree. He's like Glenn. Rattle him early and he's done.
  14. We do and have used the late season expansion for that since XFL/USFL. For sure. It's SOP. We signed guys we brought in for late season PR, you complained about it...so if that's not what you were talking about don't get upset when ppl can't read your mind. How was that clearly what he was talking about?
  15. Yea..pretty much. You bring guys in late season with the PR expansion and find the ones you want back for camp the next year. I am not sure where Mike thinks we get all these game ready rookies from? Any CFL team might be able to get 1 or 2 a year. The rest need some time.
  16. You mean the guy who got effectively demoted mid-season in Calgary because he refused to call a passing play over 5 yards?
  17. There is precedent for O`Day not doing a good job too so I will hedge my bets they go Harris or bust this season and it ends up bust. He is just mad that everyone here is not licking Mace`s boots and thinking he will lead them to the promised land. Buck would have been an infinitely better hire and I`m glad O`Day was unable to talk him into going there.
  18. Not sure but he was number one in just about every QB category last year....and was in his 4th straight Grey Cup...so your questions come off as a bit stupid in light of that. Number of teeth.
  19. Trevor Harris QB coach maybe....Trevor Harris 525k QB STUPID. We already know that we can`t afford Brown. Don`t have to either because we have a QB. Harris making 100k less than Zac is overpaying him by about 250k for what he`s actually worth. No wonder your team is in the crapper. Renegotiate with Harris down to what...he`s got a signed contract. Hes not going to budge very far.
  20. BWA HA HA. It`s 3 years, and 3 years from now I will likely feel the exact same sentiment towards Collaros because logic dictates that it would be time to move on....especially if he were coming off as serious an injury as Harris is TRYING to recover from. Man you sure are showing your lack of football IQ more and more by the minute tho. Can`t afford him because Harris is being grossly overpaid. O`Day likely would never pull the trigger on such a sensical move either.
  21. WIsh I could help you. I was too young to have watched your father play but a really good resource might be to contact the Bomber`s themselves. Darren Bauming in particular. The Bombers are a first rate organization to alumni and I am positive they would do their best for you.
  22. The only thing falling flat is your precious Riders coaching hire`s decision to smooch old O`Days ass by committing to an over the hill injured QB on literally his last legs It makes absolutely no sense to go into a rebuild with a 38 year old injured and gun shy QB. Seriously. you guys are so gaga over someone getting hired that you are completely overlooking the fact that he committed to Harris in order to get the job and that is a HUGE mistake right off the bat. So save your little logic falls flat remarks for your HC and GM, because it is theirs that falls flat... on day one no less. O`Day hasn`t learned a thing from the last 2 seasons and hired himself a yes man. Good luck with that. BWAHA HA! I am not laughing with you...I am laughing at you. Keep on Riderfanning.
  23. 160k...lol. I think he is 250k minimum...and there will be mutliple teams willing to pay him that even as a backup. That's the starting bid and he likely goes up from there.
