  1. I am not sure how it is an overpay either. No one can know if he is overpaid until he actually demonstrates that.
  2. Only problem with your little diatribe is that 3DN acknowledged that Dunk reported salary in that article was incorrect and retracted it. Second thing wrong is that you are comparing 2023 Adams salary to 2024 Brown. Please provide us with Adams 2024 hard money before proclaiming that Brown is "making more" than Adams. Third, going solely off "hard money" is ridiculous. Lets just say for arguments sake that Adams reported contract in the article you referenced was correct, even though the math was horribly incorrect and Dunk acknowledged the reported amount was incorrect, that would mean he made 345,000 last year. Let's also assume for the sake of argument that he has the worst agent in history and never negotiated a raise for this year. That means that Vernon Adams contract is at minimum 50k more per year, and he made 45k more last year than what Dru Brown can possibly earn on his contract. Therefore, you saying that Brown is making more than Adams is grossly incorrect and not by 1k but by 50k in contract value. Third thing is that you can't possibly know if Brown is overpaid or not right now. No one can possibly say he was over or under paid at this point and time. If he tears it up this year he could very well be underpaid, just as VA was last year.
  3. He only re-worked the 2022 year of his contract to make it fit under the Lions cap for that year. 2023 he was still under the 3rd year of his Montreal 3/1.4mil contract from Montreal. Until they extended him last offseason that is, and presumably paid him equal or more money and added an extra year. In April last year 3DN listed his salary as 285k hard and 350 with bonuses. However, Dunk later wrote a retraction on 3DN that Adams salary was not reported correctly.
  4. His contract was reworked and extended on Feb 8/2023 thru the 2024 season. According to Dunk he was to get over 400k for 2023 prior to his contract extension. Stands to reason that he definitely did not rip up that contract and extend for less. I would hazard a guess that he is definitely in the 450-500k range for last year, and this coming season. https://3downnation.com/2023/02/08/b-c-lions-extend-contract-of-qb-vernon-adams-jr-through-2024/
  5. I think you are misinformed on how much Adams will be getting this year. His problem is not his ability. It's his age and durability.
  6. Wasn't his nickname "Big Tuna" when he played or am I mistaken? I think Barriere has great upside, just not sure I would be comfortable with a raw rookie at number 2. However, if he wins the job he wins the job.
  7. I wish I had the inside scoop on this like you guys so I could join a good old pre-trial lynchin of a rapist.
  8. After Strev, he is the guy I would most want. They have Harris, Fine, and Patterson all on new contracts. Sounds like that is their plan.
  9. Prukop is a 3rd stringer and I don't believe for 5 seconds that we have any illusions of him being more than that. I can think of 5-6 QBs that will be available as a backup that are FAR better than FIne, and that's just off the top of my head. It's not Rider hate it's just fact. I would take Dolegala long before I would ever take Fine. The guy can't make every throw. For anyone to think the Bombers coveted Fine is just crazy. In order of preference here is who I would look at before Fine: Streveler, Shiltz, Cornelius, Barriere, Arbuckle, and Dolegala They are NOT going with the same 3 QBs. Doesn't sound like Dolegala will be back. Baffling, as he was much better than Fine imo.
  10. I am glad you are not our GM...lol. Fine is hot garbage. He makes Max Hall look like Dieter Brock in comparison to his arm strength. Guy throws a 5 yard pass with a rainbow arc.
  11. 340k and 400k. Those are the numbers. Every QB has playtime bonuses built into their contract and no one subtracts those when we talk about how much the contract is. No different for Dru. He negotiated a 300k+ contract.
  12. If he's successful he MIGHT stay in Ottawa. None of us knows whether he would come back or not.
  13. Get ready for a knee slapper. Over on RF their chief spin doctor and shameless O'Day apologist Rider Stronson is suggesting he has inside information that if the Riders had not expedited the signing of Mason FIne that the Bombers were going to attempt to sign him as our back up. LMAO. He's not even good enough fill the water bottles for our QBs. Except for the Ottawa being in the Grey Cup part I have maintained that this may exactly be our path for the past couple months. Let Brown develop and take his lumps as a young starter in Ottawa, then we swoop in.
  14. Sssshhhh! I was called crazy for suggesting something like that could be a possibility.
  15. Yep that's not hate that's just the reality of a fan base that values winning more than stockpiling star players. We aren't the damn Maple Leafs...I'd rather win.
  16. Would definitely make DE more urgent for sure.
  17. I think a lot of GMs/coaches around the league treat RB as more of an after thought in their football philosophies. Look at BC, they couldn't care less who they got at RB.
  18. I suspect a couple more DEs will be added to that mix as well. We are at the point now where we gotta be developing a starting DE for 2025 I would think.
  19. So many variables. If Ford comes back, and adds another NAT starter to defence does that make BO less of a priority? Maybe.
  20. At this point and time there are so many options available to KW as far as SMS goes. Could we sign BO, Schoen, Streveler....absolutely no problem we could. They all want to be here. Should we? That's the real question and really the only person in position to answer that is KW because none of us know who he would ship out and who he would replace those he ships out with. Without carnal knowledge of what any of these guys want for salary and who we gotta carve out to make room, and what kind of blue chipper prospects and back room convos KW is having we will all just have to wait until this crazy carousel called the offseason becomes clearer. Right now, BO, Schoen and Strev all remain strong possibilities to sign with us and if the price is right I am sure we want them all.
  21. I hope he hasn't offered much more. Maybe a bit more, but anything more than 170k and his price exceeds his worth imo. I just hate when a player tries to pressure the team through the media. Never liked it. It's a bad look and really doesn't do much for them in the end.
  22. I agree. Everything he stated so far can lead a person to that reasonable conclusion. Similar to how one can make the same conclusion, based on what the player has stated in the past, that Schoen would like to return as well. Just saying.
  23. With the XFL and USFL merging and eliminating a lot of their teams, there should be a bunch of NT types on the market. Those leagues favored the big NTs and now a bunch have been freed up.
  24. I'm not saying we dispose of Ricky, but we need that true NT. With the clusterfart that is the XFL/USFL merger cutting most of their teams out there should be a ton of talent now looking for work at every position.
  25. Radically different? What constitutes radically different? Changing a NAT for a Naturalized NAT come playoff time is not some epic departure. I agree that not doing that was not the best idea in the playoffs, but it's tough to suggest that doing so in the regular season hurt our chances at a Grey Cup. We finished first in the West. That was our regular season goal. We attained it.
