  1. Roster management or not, and this is absolutely undeniable, we were in fantastic position to win that game if we simply don`t let Fajardo beat us on a last minute drive. Guys on here can scream until they are blue in the face about coaching, or Zac`s play, or roster management and none of that mattered at that point. None. It came down to poor coverage to allow a 30 yard gain on 3rd and 5, and to let CoFaj scamper for 13 the play before. All the other **** is just white noise as to why we lost that game. It was there for the taking and our D crapped the bed in the final minute. We allowed a CoFaj offence to drive 83 yards to win that game. Biggie cost us nothing in that drive, nor did Zac, the receivers or anything else. Just people trying to set their agendas now by overlooking the obvious fact that our roster, no matter how banged up, was good enough for 59 minutes of that game and our own mistakes lost us that game. It hurt us, but it is not why we lost. We still could have should have and were in position to win that game. I guess we can all second guess now, but is Ambles on a couple weeks learning curve better than Bailey or Schoen at 80%, is BOLO better than Demski at 80%....pretty easy to pick the carcass now but I am not sure I make a different decision receiver wise. Biggie was the big mistake because Clements had clearly demonstrated he could fill that gap easily if Biggie wasn`t absolutely 100.
  2. Talking about injuries on offence not defence. No one is giving the D a free pass. You take Bailey, Schoen, and Demski out of your lineup and replace the with a healthy McCrae, Grant, and BOLO and things wouldn't have gone much better and that's not a knock on those 3 guys. That is just an enormous hill to climb. Brady was being spied all game long coming out of the back field. We tried moving him into the flats quite a bit if you watch the replay, they covered him well....and yes, and injury can definitely prevent you from making play. That's kind of exactly what happened actually. Look when a receiver is unable to make certain cuts, or run certain routes, DBs figure that out really quickly and it gives them a big advantage. The kind of advantage that results in interceptions if Zac tries to push the issue. Where Buck's game plan really sucked was in not stretching the field sideline to sideline and that is where the usage of Grant and McCrae could have benefitted us the most. Might have given our banged up guys a bit more space to operate, and when you have an LBI you need that room. At the end of the day though, 3 red zone turnovers took points of the board. BO's fumble and 2 INTs. We clean that up and we would have hung 35 on them. We actually drove the ball decently considering.
  3. Yea...the injury bug bit us at the worst possible time on offence, and it was a huge factor and not humanly reasonable to expect Kyle or MOS to do anything about it at that point. We limped into Hamilton and limped out. Where pray tell do we find 2 high level IMP receivers and a great NAT receiver in the last couple weeks of the season and have them well versed in our offence and chemistry with our QB. C'mon....you guys are letting your emotions get the best of you. If these guys had all been down since Labor Day...maybe you can get guys ready in time but realistically when 60% of your receiving corps is down in the final couple games you are hooped. Yea...for sure. It's why I think the criticism of his play is a little unfounded. He tried to get out there and scramble and make things happen but guys were just not at 100 and able to get to the open areas. It was just awful timing for us on the injury front.
  4. Cody Faj did exactly what we allowed him to do. Full credit to him for doing so.
  5. Epic flop...fail? Jeezus give the hyperbole a rest. We were a better game plan away from our 3rd Grey Cup in 4 years. I am as unhappy about yesterday's result as anyone but calling this year an epic flop seems nonsensical to me. We had a great year...just came up an inch short.
  6. Against Montreal 24 points should have been plenty.
  7. No..he's not but him playing well is money in the bank. We don't know for sure what Brown is as it's a small sample size...encouraging one, but nonetheless small.
  8. Brandon Alexander went for the big hit twice and whiffed. If he wraps up it ends the drive. Also Wilson was whiffing on tackles. On Stanbacks TD he missed him at the LOS. Totally agree. 1st and goal from the 8..I like our chances running.
  9. My belief is that Zac's been looking for the home run ball too often this year.
  10. Ok...that's not even remotely true. He had a bad game and hasn't performed well in the last 2 Grey Cups but he is not Willy'd. No reason whatsoever that we couldn't have provided him with one a lot more often than we did.
  11. Roster management is way down the list of things that bit us in the ass yesterday imo. We could have/should have won this game with the roster we dressed. Interceptions that snuffed out good drives, a bad BO fumble, no pressure on CoFaj, a weird decision to play man nearly all game, our coaches going ultra conservative/playing not to lose....these were far bigger factors.
  12. I don't think there will be much outrage if we go with Zac next year. He was looking for a receiver to work themselves open. Problem is 60% of our receiving corps could only run in a straight line. Zac didn't have a good game but our receivers were even worse. Lawler was doubled all night because they could.
  13. I'll keep Zac over head case Kelly thanks. That is if he recovers from his phantom concussion next year in time to play. Likely that Dinwiddie protects his noggin against anyone over .500 anyway tho.
  14. What worries me the most is Brady missing half the season trying the NFL. That could be very bad for us.
  15. If we play clean ball we win that game. We did the exact thing that everyone knew was the only way Montreal could beat us. Zac needed to be better and so did our gameplan.
  16. No. I don't think Fox would have done anything more than the Jeffs, and I am not buying that the Jeff's weren't fresh either. Biggie and Schoen being on was a big mistake, no doubt about it. However, we got zero pressure on Cody, and it is mainly because we were just lining up 3 or 4 and trying to rush straight ahead. It was a very vanilla pass rush, and a very vanilla coverage scheme as well. There were roster mistakes, but you are never going to convince me that a PR DT was the difference between us getting pressure or not and that loomed large over this game. Not just the 4th Q....the whole game....even when the Jeff's were fresh as a daisy. For some reason Hall took the tact that we will play man coverage, and straight rush because he did not believe Cody had it in him to beat us with his arm and we would capitalize on his inevitable mistakes. We play the scheme that Hall had last week for VA and CoFaj is road rash right now.
  17. I think when we got the 10 point lead that we kind of dumbed everything down and thought we would just cruise to the W. We've done that a few times this year with bad results every time.
  18. For sure. Biggie should have sat. However, we gave CoFaj time in the pocket and even a noodle arm like him will have a field day with time. That's not on the roster management, we just came in with a very vanilla defensive scheme that didn't disrupt CoFaj. No. MOS is still the best coach in the CFL. He needs to reflect on some mistakes this offseason tho.
  19. The Bombers both O and D were very vanilla. Hardly any play action or backfield motion, no methodical stretching of the defence, and our D was just plain jane. It's as if we figured we could play an ultra low risk game and win. Kinda disrespected Montreal a bit in our game planning imo. For sure....but for the coming season we need him still and if Brown in the heir apparent then decisions can be made during the season. We had 3 receivers hobbling around out there not getting open. It's not all on Zac. Schoen could barely run his routes except in a straight line.
  20. We had 10 sacks last week. This had nothing to do with horses in the stable.
  21. I'm not willing to throw the baby out with the bath water on Zac quite yet, but I think we gotta figure out how to keep Brown for sure.
  22. I have no issues with the throws themselves either. The play call...well...I may have run the ball.
  23. LOL...sorry man...just still ranting. Gonna take me a couple days to shake it off.
  24. Go pound sand. I don't need to prove anything, the proof is in the pudding. The only thing you didn't pull out of your butt in the above post is that I am upset at this loss. Watched a team that should have won crap the bed AGAIN. Our team was outworked and outplayed in this game. Shouldn't have happened 2 years in a row against lesser teams. You wanna defend it go ahead, but that doesn't make me the one with my head up my ass.
  25. I don't think so. Our guys are the best in the league overall but they have forgotten how much they should hate losing imo. Fat and sassy. Humility needed to be served a day it was.
