The Stamps certainly have a massive opportunity to gain some ground back if they can convince Edward to open up the wallet prior to Jan. They have a million dollars off the books through 6 gaming this year and that likely relates to a good 500-600k of open cap space. If Dicky is a busy boy he can pay a crap load of players next year on this year's books. Huff will need to convince him I am sure.

Ticats fans have every right to be unhappy. When a team is awful in a Grey Cup hosting year heads should roll. -

My observation is not anectdotally based in any way. I told you Jr. membership is on the rise at my curling club, and from speaking to other curling club members that is the norm. What is anecdotal about that? Instead, you went full on stupid and asked me to provide receipts proving that. Like...yea...I'll go straight down to the club, call a meeting, and ask the treasurer for copies of the books because some guy on the internet can't stand to be wrong. Jeez Louise. You made a post condemning the future of curling in curling's bedrock province. Not sure why you thought that would play well, especially to all of us that know better but instead of admitting that maybe your gut feeling about it was wrong, and thanking someone for bringing accurate info on the matter, you go full on troll about it. -

Cool. My friend used to bar tend there for a couple seasons back in the early 90's. Frikken rink burgers, and I don't care what rink.....are the best. -

LMAO....doubling down on a feeling you have. If you don't have receipts you are not allowed to converse with him. Exactly. Junior curling is benefitting from hockey being crazy expensive now. -

Listen here sonny boy, I am a board member at my local curling club, a former board member of the MCA, and membership is still very strong and junior membership have never been higher. You are talking out your ass on this one at least as far as Manitoba goes. -

Me too. I have never met any native from a reserve with an objection to that. Stray/feral dogs are a very real public safety concern on most reserves. -

Grand Rapids is definitely the exception to that rule in the native community then. Dog attacks by stray dogs are a very real concern on pretty much every reserve I know of, or have lived. Band constables have dog days where they drive around shooting them for public safety. There is nearly no objection to it that I know of. I am sure a great deal of reserves would welcome these dogs being rescued. -

Will be interesting to see what the Bombers do with snap counts this week. Betts and Touhema are the most penalized players in this league by a significant margin, and it is mostly due to trying to jump the snap count. I imagine we will look to exploit that. -
Either way, it is irrelevant. Huf has either passed on the duties to Dicky, or is just too old to do it the same way he used to do it. When your strategy is to operate on a shoe string budget and simply move on from guys when they go their 2nd contract you better be able to keep your cupboards overflowing with talented rookies. For whatever reason Huf no longer makes that happen. It's not like the fickle fans of Calgary give him a reason to care....just saying.

You obviously don't live in Manitoba. There is no danger of curling dying. I love the NFL....but I hate watching it. Too long between plays. -
No argument from me there. I will add though, that Hufnagel's philosophy worked out very well for him. They were the dominant CFL team for a decade doing that. The problem is Huff isn't really there anymore, and towards the end he was too old to put in the amount of work required to make that kind of strategy pay off. Walters has a very different philosophy to Huf and it too works and is far more sustainable imo. For sure. Dicky needs to do a full evaluation of how the Stamps sign/recruit because the Hufnagel era is over. Dicky could do himself a big favor by going out and getting a better QB for sure.

For sure. For many years talent would walk out their door but Huf was an amazing GM and even better evaluator of talent imo. Now....they struggle with all of that.

But was Randy Bachman there? He says he was. lmao -
I think they are team trying to manage their SMS/roster as if players should still take deep discounts to stay there and those that won't can move on. They don't have Murphy providing a massive scouting list or Hufnagel's uncanny ability to narrow that down to guys who will excel in the CFL. Their recruiting has dropped off a cliff and it's showing up in the win/loss column.

No doubt about it that big play VA is an apt name, unfortunately, some of those big plays are usually interceptions at very costly times so I suspect our ball hawks are looking forward to that. -

Buffalo a zillion years ago. Never played cold weather football at any serious level of competition. At any rate tho, doesn't sound like it will be too bad in S. Ontario. I don't know what it looks like, but I am pretty sure I know what it smells like. -

Are you sure? Pretty sure we are just hardier people out here. Can't wait for the Chad to get his first taste of sub zero football as starter. -

Vernon is not a good cold weather QB. Hope it's cold. However, he is uncomfortable at 0 degrees even. -

No one in this league game plans D in the playoffs better than Hall. He will have a weather ready D plan. Boys just need to execute and raise their games. -
Neither team impressed me much. The Bombers would have beat the Stamps by 50 imo..

I would love nothing more than to get into an offensive shootout if we have to play TO. We win that 98 times out of a 100.
