  1. It requires different usage for sure and he adds a little redundancy with Demski for sure. However, the way we utlilized him and Demski vs. Calgary earlier this year with both guys in motion in the backfield was giving Calgary fits that game. Bottom line we could expect Adugosi to provide about 50 yds a game of production realistically and there is no reason to not expect the same from McCrae. Yea....I agree. McCrae forces us into a kind of a different look but it's not something we haven't done before with success. Schoen being out now is not a whole lot different than when Lawler missed the first 6 games. We will just have to adapt to it.
  2. Might? I mean I guess theoretically they could win but I wouldn't bet a nickel on them.
  3. Yes, using McCrae requires a little bit of a different look to our offence. Not sure that's a bad thing right now.
  4. For sure. Those million dollar mortgages don't leave a lot of time or money left over and TO is absolutely awful in both regards for attending a game.
  5. No he didn't. Would it be nice if the next Schoen was hiding on our PR unbeknownst to us and the rest of the CFL? Sure. Is it a realistic ask from a fan base? Nope.
  6. By lots he means the 2 other ones.
  7. We had Adugosi. It is arguable whether he was a viable replacement or at least any more viable than McCrae. McCrae isn't a true receiver in the traditional sense but he gave us a few good games this year and isn't chopped liver either. Pretty good coming from the PR imo. Imo, it's pretty unrealistic to expect difference makers to come in off the PR. All you can hope for off of any team's PR is either a raw rookie and the mistakes that come with that, a middling veteran like McCrae, or an over the hill veteran. None of the 3 are going to be particularly viable. This is especially true for any team as loaded SMS wise as we are in our game day roster. We, and other teams that are dominant, just simply cannot have a fully loaded PR chock full of budding stars because players of that calibre have too many other football options now that are better than 500 bucks a week. I mean seriously, if you are a recruit to this league at receiver do you sit on a PR behind Lawler, Schoen, and Bailey in the hopes that they get injured because that is your only realistic chance of rostering? Lots of times the guys ahead of your drive the desirability of your PR. Guys want some kind of realistic chance they can win a position.
  8. If it is a high ankle sprain, but there is no way it would have been weight bearing afterwards if it was.
  9. The CFL has a 10 player PR size so that is kind of an inevitability in our league. We are activating Greg McRae aren't we?
  10. That scenario sounds ideal. We may not even let the waterboys out there just to make sure.
  11. Johnny Augustine says what and Simonise, and Petermann say it's not quite that simple.
  12. There is nothing good about indifferent ownership. Nothing. Not in a league like the CFL. A strong performing Argos franchise, not just on the field, is essential to league survival. There is more at stake than how many millys the MLSE is willing to take. Not when league survival needs a fan base, which is non-existent, in it's biggest centre. Like all things Toronto, you cannot see past your self declared centre of the universe. Our league survives on TV contracts, advertising, and corporate sponsorship. Without Toronto, BC, and Montreal having strong fan bases this league will struggle to survive. Luckily there is good ownership now in 2 out of the 3. Toronto should be absolutely embarrassed as a city that they have a very strong Argos team that can't draw flies. That's not all on ownership. No wonder the NFL wants no part of the city.
  13. We have crushed their will to compete 2 straight years,
  14. For sure. I like Walker but he should be a rotational guy.
  15. Late season Bombers or early season Jets...it's a no brainer.
  16. We are not getting home for sacks at the rate one would expect, but we are 3rd in the league in defensive pressure % so it is not as bad as the sack numbers would have us believe.
  17. 6 of the 9 MLBs in the league are scheduled to go to FA this offseason. That could be why we have not seen a huge Biggie replacement search.
  18. In the age of one year contracts the future is how strong of a destination FAs consider you to be. Right now we are a marquee destination. We do not need to rebuild. We need to reload. Secondary is all there with a ton of depth. Lbers go to Cole/Wilson/Clements next year. Alexander swapped out for Ford and kept as depth. OL sees Kola and Neuf challenged and perhaps supplanted by Dobson/Eli. Receivers all in their prime. Walter's shops quality Nat depth and maybe some interesting young IMPs in FA. Perhaps a true NT and another up and Comer DE. I am not seeing much tweaking needed beyond that. It's not a big list to keep us at the top of the heap. Not sure where this myth that we are aging out came from but it's dead wrong. Plenty of quality young players in their prime here, and only a couple guys really aging out play wise.
  19. Exactly. Our replacement options will be ample come FA. We don't necessarily need to transition guys this year for next year. We just need to swap guys out when it is time to do so. Harris being shown the door is proof our org will do what needs to be done.
  20. I would think Wilson would be Biggie's replacement. All other boxes are checked off except Nat depth.
  21. You are suggesting that Bryant and Hardrick can no longer block? That's insane. That is likely the case and was not the argument at all.
  22. Right? I could see if we were hanging on by the skin of our teeth already but to regress from 1st place to 5 wins with the same roster.....not sure how that could even happen unless we were decimated by injuries to all our QBs and OL.
  23. Hardrick and Bryant are doing just fine, and no OL is health late in the season. Gray is doing just fine, Kola I agree should be replaced by Eli and that is likely the plan, Neuf probably will retire and open a spot for Eli/Dobson but if he doesn't he is still a pretty good OG. Biggie I agree needs to think retirement. Rose and BA are just fine at the right positions. JJ is a beast. His health has been an issue his entire career but he is one of, if not the best, pure pass rusher in the CFL when he is healthy. Our NI depth does need help, mainly because we have drafted very well and lost players to the NFL. I expect that Walters will address that. So much doom and gloom in your posts.
  24. For sure, we need to look at some and put proper valuations on others but 5 wins? I want some of what he is smoking. Or maybe I don't?
  25. That's nonsense. You are way over the top in your estimation of impact on this. WAAAAAYYY over the top. We are not a 5-7 win team if we run it back next year. Not a snowball's chance in hell. Our OL hasn't been fantastic in pass block but it is way above average, and our DL isn't racking up the stats but that's Hall's system as much as anything. What DBs are you referring to? Our secondary has been excellent this year. I agree that it might be time for Biggie to hang them up.
